On this secluded 13 acre forested property, you're located directly across from the Ausable River, with plentiful mountain views. Only minutes away from Whiteface Mountain, the mountain bike trails of Wilmington, and with easy access to many of the high Peaks. Come enjoy peace and quiet relaxation while listening to the sounds of nature amongst the trees.

The entrance is located directly across from an access point on the Ausable River. The drive is narrow but generally accessible with 2WD depending on weather. Just minutes away from Upper Jay, Jay, and Wilmington. Keene is only 10 minutes away and Lake Placid is 25 minutes away. Site 1 is an improved gravel pad about 40 feet in length.

Great spot. Very private and good space that fitted a tent and a car, There was also a fire pit set up and some logs separated for us. Very nice and cozy camping spot. Would definitely recommend

Quiet, secluded, flat. It was a peaceful stay at a no frills site. I would definitely stay there again! Lots of wildlife…deer, turkey, owl, coyotes. Nice and Simple!

This is a great site. Just off the road, up a little dirt road, and into a big open meadow. I keep coming back since the sites are level and big enough for my camper. This time, the colors were spectacular. Highly recommended!

My second or third time here. Great site, easy access to the high peaks and river and pretty quiet. The site is level for campers, so I don’t even need to use my leveling blocks.

We had a great time here! Stephanie was friendly and quick to respond. The directions were clear and the site was easy to find. Great location for many trails in the high peaks. Nice tucked away spot for privacy, even when someone is in the other site. The site is spacious and beautiful. We didn’t have service at the site, so I would recommend downloading maps for trails, etc before arriving.

Awesome site. Loved the privacy. Great fire pit with plenty of fire wood available. Perfectly level site to camp next to my vehicle. Easily accessible with a small 2 wheel drive truck.

We had a wonderful stay at the Jay Mountain Vista campsite! There is ample room to wander and play. The tent/RV pad was well maintained and easily accommodated two tents, one of which sleeps 8 campers. It's conveniently located next to the Ausable river, which offers quite a refreshing dip after a strenuous and muddy hike up Porter. How nice it was to be able to run over to Jay, with some nice dining options and food markets. Stephanie, the host, is extremely responsive and communicates clearly. Great place to camp!

Amazing campsite and location, and fantastic/perfect host! The host was above and beyond gracious and communicative, extremely helpful, super detailed and top-notch. We loved the campsite so much we’re planning to come back and book it for several days next year, possibly book both campsites and bring friends with us. Our children really enjoyed the experience, there’s even a rock wall by the campsite that you can use for pretend rock climbing/scrambling for kids with a cool little trail that is kid friendly as long as you have adult supervision. Stephanie let us know that there’s little to no reception, I had zero reception with AT&T and my iPhone in the small town of Jay, New York the whole time. Despite that, we loved the town, couldn’t believe how quiet and peaceful it was at the campsite, even though it was relatively close to Jay but still rural. Such a peaceful location. Amazing views of Jay Mountain range from the campsite, really loved hiking Jay mountain with our kids and dogs. There were a lot of ticks on our dogs, but we were walking them through the grass, and we have the same problem where we live in central New York. It’s normal and just be wary of that when you are in New York. Peak leaf color change happened when we were camping, and the trees around the campsite were gorgeous! We would definitely book with Stephanie again, and of all the places that I researched this place was serene and perfect, and no ponds or mud for kids to drown or get muddy in.

Great spot for a tent or RV. We pulled the Jeep right in and camped in a Tent. I would stay here again. There is a little noise from the road but it's not bad at all.

Great location! The sites are a decent distance off the road, but still easy to get to and very private. We saw deer and turkeys during the day. The stars were bright and the owls let us know they were around at night. There are two large pads to choose from for camping, both with fire rings. Plenty of firewood around so that you don’t need to buy any. I loved the access to the high peaks and Keene Valley for hiking. Also a great restaurant in Upper Jay, right down the road. If you stay here, make sure to check out the Ice Jam Inn for dinner.
