Camp Benjamin

Great stay on a really cool piece of property. My boyfriend and I stayed a short night and we wished we stayed longer - next time! Ben is awesome and showed us around his place, such a cool spot, and close to so many beautiful nature spots as well. We're putting it on our bucket list to come back again and stay longer! Thanks so much Ben for your hospitality and kindness!

Sweet little cabin

The property is beautiful and the hosts were super hospitable, showed us around, gave recommendations about local food options and hikes, and offered us coffee in the morning. We stayed in the en-suite cabin and it’s small yet had small fridge and tv. Bed was comfortable and we appreciated how clean and unscented everything was.

Site 3 - Camp Benjamin

Our last minute, off season booking was accepted with no problem and our hosts set us up in a delightful and private site in their forested area. They provide excellent amenities and were extremely friendly and welcoming. Cute dog! Thanks for the fireside chat, good luck in your endeavors.

Peaceful retreat, welcoming host

The property is beautiful. The site was a mossy, grassy delight for the barefooted with shade morning and evening and a dark sky at night for stargazing. We didn’t get to meet Ash but Benjamin (and Levi) took a genuine interest in us as we swapped stories at the campfire. You couldn’t ask for a better host.

I loved tent camping at Camp Benjamin! The area was very cute and felt very private. Benjamin and Ash were very accommodating and responded quickly to messages. I would definitely stay there again.

If you want the human experience this is your place. Also the dog experience, the cat experience, the chicken experience and the nature experience. Just come here. It smells wonderful. It’s peaceful and energetic at the same time. Benjamin and Ashley have curated a farm/camp/retreat that is perfect for taking that deep breath we all need to reset course. Since we didn’t bring camping gear we stayed in the ensuite and it was very cozy and comfortable. Ensuite is a great name since the bath/dreyyssing area is larger than the sleeping area. Oh and there’s a ballet bar in the room so you can keep up with your stretching. No AC but even with the high July temps the fan kept us cool and comfy. You can have privacy if you like or take part in a communal atmosphere. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and generous. We so enjoyed getting to know them and hope to see them again soon!

We enjoyed our night at Benjamin camps. Beautiful maintained grounds, hot shower and toilet available. Benjamin and his wife Ashley are very friendly and know how to put us at ease. I highly recommend.

Our stay at Benjamin’s was amazing! We really enjoyed getting to know Benjamin and Ashe. Not only is he a great story teller but hearing their adventures help make the whole experience that much better. The site felt so secure and private, we felt right at home. Ashley even gave us fresh garlic harvested from the garden. Amazing experience!

Homey atmosphere and amazing hosts

This was our first time trying hipcamp and Benjamin sold us on the concept. He's been an extremely helpful and hospitable host. He chooses great beers and made us delicious tea. The adorable barn dog, Levis, is always there to say hello and might kidnap a bit of fire wood while he's as it. The amenities were clean and overall superb. My girlfriend is new to camping and despite the unfortunate weather, she really enjoyed staying at Benjamin's camp. We wish Benjamin and Ash the best and hope to visit them again some time!

Magical Homestead Under the Stars

It would almost be impossible to describe the magic that is Camp Benjamin. We met Ash when we arrived, and she showed us to our camp spot which was on soft grass above kind of a sandy ground which was comfy and made it easy to set up camp. We were able to drive our car right up to the site which made our stay that much more stress-free. We had a nice private little nook with a picnic table in the forest with two fire pits. After setting up our camp, we explored a bit on the trails. It felt like wandering through a calming labyrinth in the trees. Benjamin and Ash met up with us to give us a tour of the property. The huge barn they redid contains a bathroom and a large room where they hold concerts and yoga/dance/outdoor classes. We got to check out the impressive greenhouse that they built. We joined our hosts for a fire closer to their homestead with a view of the huge garden. Ash gave me a jar of sprouts she sprouted. We had a clear view of the milky way and Ash showed me some cool constellations. We were also directed to a beautiful swimming hole about 2 miles up the road where we swam in the morning. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect retreat in nature

Camp Benjamin is magical! I am so grateful for my stay there--it was just what I needed to relax, regroup, and refocus my energies. Not only did I enjoy Camp Benjamin's accommodations, gardens, nature trails, and peace and quiet, put its proximity to the Adirondacks and its lakes and hiking trails can't be beat. Just 10 miles away I was able to go swimming and paddling, and just a mile or so down the road I enjoyed a lovely walk along the Black River Canal. Hosts Ben and Ash went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable, pleasant, and that I had everything I needed. I couldn't have asked for more gracious and thoughtful hosts. Also, I was pleased that their WiFi connection was great as I work remotely and know that Internet service in the Adirondacks can be spotty. I had no issues with it. Camp Benjamin is a true gem and I will certainly be recommending it to others. Thanks Ash and Ben (and Levi!) for the great getaway!

Camp Benjamin is a sweet spot! Camp sites are private and quiet. The trails on the property are perfect for a relaxing walk. You feel comfortable and right at home here! Benjamin and Ashley share their local knowledge for a real Adirondack experience. Thanks Ben and Ash for such a fun weekend! Playing music, sitting by a fire, yoga and soooo many laughs! We’ll be back your place is a real gem!

Cozy, clean, magical, refreshing

The hosts were welcoming and very friendly. Beautiful farm in a beautiful area! It was an extremely rejuvenating get-away, and I experienced much more from the weekend than expected! Very clean, comfortable , relaxed, accommodating, and the farm owners are generous, caring people. This was my first time there; I'll continue to recommend it to friends and I look forward to visiting again.

Good vibes camping

Ben and Ash were lovely- we met them both the first night and had a great conversation and can’t wait to go back to hang out again. Great energy on the site even though it rained like mad (we were told this gives you extra camping points, ha!). Even though it rained we were offered to hole up in one of the barns which was such a nice offer! The site was great and we got a proper wake up call from the resident rooster which was the authentic experience we were looking for. Toilet shower and filtered water were great and not too far away but just far enough so you really felt like you were properly camping. We can’t wait to bring our whole family out to the farm!
