Burr Oaks Forest secluded campsites

We had a great stay at this campsite! The site was exactly as described, clean, secluded, and peaceful. The uphill walk to the site can be a bit of a workout, especially if you're carrying heavy supplies, but it's totally worth it once you're there. Micheal is a fantastic host. he was super helpful and friendly. We were even able to grab some fresh eggs for breakfast. The showers were clean, and the bathrooms were very accessible. Loved the thoughtful touches like toilet paper and feminine supplies being stocked. Would definitely come back!

Hosts were super friendly and all the extras we got (solo stove, firewood, eggs, and gear shuttle) were amazing! The site is really private and quiet. Most of the meadow is at an incline but the top of the site has some mostly flat spots to pitch tents. Just don’t expect it to be super flat. Had a lovely time and definitely would come back!

Excellent host and facilities. Michael was more than helpful in directing us to our site. The sites are nicely secluded from each other, providing privacy and quality time in the forest. The outhouses are very clean and fully stocked with teepee, sanitizer, and pads. Michael sells fresh eggs and firewood, perfect for a hardy campfire breakfast. My wife and I had such a great time enjoying the property's trails and exploring the area villages and creeks. We are certainly considering booking with Michael again when we climb Slide Mt. Chrees, G+S

Beautiful camping on a wooded parcel, lovingly tended by its caretakers. We arrived late with our kid. Michael was there to greet us and point the way to our campsite about a half mile back into the woods on a well-maintained trail. Carts were available to bring our gear back and the tent was set up for us in advance, which was awesome with the late arrival and young kid. Very quiet, lovely, peaceful. The leaves were beginning to fall and they sounded like rain in the forest.

Beautiful and well maintained property! Michael and Laura are great hosts; if you need recommendations for hikes or shops nearby, they will be there to guide you. We loved the pond site, is located conveniently close to the parking area and shower, and a shadowy area to hang your hammock. Definitely thinking on coming back to try the other sites, each one has its own attractiveness.

Michaels campsite was a treat to stay at! The little trail network was really cool to see and you could tell a lot of love was put into his land. The meadow site was fantastic for star gazing and provided ample privacy while not feeling too isolated. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience, felt super secluded on land that is very well kept. Hosts are incredibly kind and there are small walking trails throughout the property that are really nice as well. Have farm fresh goods you can buy there as well as firewood. Would highly recommend and hope we can make it back again sometime soon!

I can’t say enough good things about this camp site! It’s quiet, the views are amazing and the hosts are just the sweetest people. They shared fresh veggies from their yard and let us hang in their gazebo. Would definitely stay there again!

Michael has crafted a lovely set of sites which are all very well maintained. The pond site is closer to the house, but aside from being within sight of the house, it felt very much on its own. (The frogs and the muttering chickens we entertaining.) The compost toilets are very clean, and the shower was remarkably warm (almost too hot). Michael and Laura were terrific hosts, very accommodating, lovely to speak with. They really did this place right - very glad we found it.

Beautiful & Secluded Campsite

Secluded A-Frame Camping Shelter

We were greeted directly by Michael who communicated very well with us leading up to the camp! He provided us with detailed instructions to hike to our campsite, and even provided a cart for us to use to carry supplies from our car to the campsite. The check-in process was smooth, easy, and quick. He provided us with a firewood bundle for $10 that was already at the campsite. He was kind of enough to provide us with fresh vegetables from his garden, that were an incredible addition to our experience. The campsite was very well maintained and secluded. There was a perfectly sized fire pit, a picnic table, and very large area for our tent, and space for us to hang out. The property provided several trails and sites to see. We were close by to many hikes found on All Trails. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this campsite to anyone seeking a highly restorative getaway!

Outstanding views of the Catskills

My family (me, my husband, 7 year old and our dog) had such a wonderful time at Michael's pond camp site. The views of the changing leaves were so beautiful from the camp site and the surrounding area, it took our collective breath away. The site and property are well appointed and cared for, making it the perfect place for a family visit or anyone, really. Fresh eggs in the morning, camp fires in a solo stoves at night and a rain tent just in case (we didn't need it, the weather was beautiful). My daughter loved picking blue berries and looking at the chickens! Michael and Mara were kind and thoughtful hosts and we hope to come back soon. Such a perfect way to check out of the hustle and 24 hour newscycle, I highly recommend it. Thank you!

I would definitely return to site #4. Michael was very accommodating! My stay was shorter than intended, however, the site was perfect! It was secluded, and I was able to immerse myself in nature the way I wanted to. Michael pre-delivered firewood to the site. I had a platform to pitch my tent on. The sound of the brook next to the site helped me sleep. I ate each meal next to the pond. Wildlife was abound… bees, turkey, deer, chickens, squirrels and birds! I found peace and clarity. A few perks to make the stay great were the clean outhouses, hot outdoor shower, and access to drinkable water. I recommend this site if you are looking for a peaceful way to reconnect with nature.

I loved camping on Michael’s land. He was super responsive leading up to the trip. The land is very spacious with a decent amount of space between each site. We were in the meadow campsite, which was secluded and very picturesque. We will definitely camp here again.
