The fall, cool crisp days and changing leaves are just a few short weeks away. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. The Red Pine Campsite is situated in a beautiful pine forest that directly connects with our extensive trail system. There are multiple tenting sites available to choose from. If you like to lay in a hammock or sleep in one, this is an ideal location to set it up. The spacing of the trees makes it look like mother nature had hammocks in mind when the trees grew. There is a fire pit and all fires must be kept within this location. There are basic tools available for site/fire maintenance such as shovel and a rake. We also supply rustic seating should you desire to use it. The pit latrine is enclosed for privacy, but open to the air. We start each stay with six gallons of water but there is no other water available on site. You can refill the water at your convenience from a frost-free spigot located at our house.

Our RV site sits behind our back yard on a concrete driveway that overlooks our beautiful 3/4 acre pond. The site can accommodate almost any size rig and you have access to water, 30amp electrical service and limited wi-fi. We do have dump station capability at the front of our house to use upon your departure. This site sits at the beginning of our extensive trail system through our 115 acres. You also have access to the communal campfire ring (complimentary firewood included) next to the pond along with fishing privileges.

Pondside Retreat Cabin

Our Pondside Retreat is a 300 square foot retreat situated along side out 3/4 acre pond. This cabin is a beautiful mix of upscale camping with amenities and a great hotel room with views to remember. The cabin will easily sleep up to four people. There is a double bed and a pull out couch. This would be the ideal getaway for a couple or a couple with children. As you look out the windows or lay in bed looking out the french doors, you will gaze upon the edge of our pond that has an abundance of bass, sunfish, frogs and other aquatic life. It is just a short walk to the start of our extensive trail system on our 115 acres. Inside the cabin is a kitchenette with all of your basic amenities including a double hotplate, cooking utensils, sink with hot and cold running water. The cabin also offers heat and air conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (with coffee, creamer and sugar), and hair dryer. On the outside of the retreat there is the outdoor shower that has hot and cold water and is in an enclosed shower house. The toilet (Composting/Camping) is also outside in its own private enclosed structure. Before Arrival - Please let us know if you would like the pull out couch made up as the second double bed for you. If needed, it will make you stay more enjoyable and it is no bother for us.

Trailside Camp - Glamping Tent

Our Trailside Camp is just the right balance between roughing it and staying in a nice hotel. The 10'x12' canvas tent sits on a nice wooden deck. It has two twin beds that can be moved together to form a king bed. Just let us know which you would prefer. There is electric to the tent for lighting and heat in the shoulder seasons. Wi-Fi is also available for your use. Just off of the tent is your cooking station that includes a two burner propane stove, stainless steel sink and prep station as well as a charcoal grill. There is cold running water available at the sink. We do not supply the pots and pans but we do have paper plates, cups and utensils available for your use. For bathing we have and outdoor shower with hot and cold running water and an outhouse with a flushable camping toilet. While on-site you have two choices for a campfire in the evening. You have full access to our communal fire pit next to the pond that has complimentary firewood available. You also have the option for a private campfire at your tent site. We do have bundles of quality firewood available for an additional fee. The camp itself sits at the trail head of our 115 acres where you have the ability to hike and relax on the miles of marked trails. You are roughly 25 yards from our 3/4 acre pond as well. The parking and access is a short 15 yard walk to your campsite. As all "Glamping" style tents are different in what they supply for amenities, we wanted to be clear about what you can expect and what you may need to bring from home. We supply the following: - Bed linens for either a king bed or two twin beds - Please let us know which you would prefer. - Paper plates, cups and eating utensils - Cooler - Ice is available for an additional fee - Two Burner Propane Stove - Kettle for heating water - Charcoal grill & grilling tools - Charcoal is available for an additional fee We do not supply the following and you may want to bring from home: - Bath towels - Soap, shampoo and body wash - Pots, pans or cooking utensils We really hope that you will enjoy your stay at our Trailside Camp and will make memories that will last a lifetime.

Todd went above and beyond at every instance that we needed him. Lovely spot, great trails in hardwood forests for dog walks. Quiet country living, beautiful pond. Couldn't ask for a better host. He even lent us his waste tote to dump black and grey tanks and even took it away with my husband to dump.

Brook Hollow Homestead is the PERFECT spot for camping. The pond for fishing & swimming. The beautiful trees for swaying on your hammock. The marked trails for hiking. The open Fields for stargazing. Really, everything you want from an outdoor stay. Our host Todd was very accommodating, helpful, informative & friendly. It met all my current needs and I can see how it will provide a future desire to have my children & grandchildren camp with me with the cottage available for those that don't care to sleep outdoors. We had our hammock amidst all the beautiful trees swaying & leaves dancing above us. Best of all (for me) were the dark skies & open Fields. We were able to track, identify & photo-stack our favorite constellations. It was truly amazing & restorative to the soul.

Red Pine Forest Campsite

Todd is an excellent host! Very friendly, and the campsite was exactly as described and perhaps even better. The trees are ideal for hammock camping, but plenty of clearings for tents too. A rake and shovel are provided to help clear the ground as needed, and the latrine, fire pit, and 5 gallon water jug really made camping a lot more comfortable. Overall an excellent choice for camping in the area, and I’m sure I’ll be back when I do this bike tour again in future years.

Oasis among the rolling tree covered hills. Level driveway steps from a private lake w dock and diving board. 30 amp electric hookup and water conveniently located. Clean, well manicured area with community fire pit next to miles of clearly marked hiking trails. Todd provided trail maps and a list of amenities in the area like restaurants and laundromats. He and his wife were so wonderful and personable and well organized. I had some water leak issues while I was there and Todd was understanding and very helpful. The surrounding view and neighbors farms were so gorgeous on every walk. I felt so much peace the week that I stayed here. About a 20-minute drive from many stores but you could never tell that sitting and enjoying this property. Highly recommend. They even sent me home with doggie treats for my two pups.

Red Pine Forest Campsite

I stayed at the red pine forest tent site. When I arrived, Todd was VERY accommodating and welcoming and I was greeted by a couple groups of deer near the site. It was raining and Todd provided me dry firewood to get my campfire going. The campsite itself was very beautiful, private, and clean with only sounds of nature and wildlife throughout the night. I would return if ever in the area. Great spot to camp between Section 1 and 2 of the NEBDR for the motorcyclists out there.

RV Site with Pond View

We had a wonderful time at Todd’s beautiful property. We stayed at his RV site overlooking the pond in our 5th wheel. It was quiet and very peaceful. Hubby did some fishing but no catching! Todd was very nice and informative. He met us at front of the property and showed us where to go, when we pulled in. He was always available if we had any questions. We didn’t have a chance to hike his 100+acres, but hopefully next time. The well water was some of the best water we’ve ever had—crisp, cold and refreshing. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing time spent in the Eastern Catskill's.

Red Pine Forest Campsite

Camping in the pine forest on Todd’s land was absolutely lovely! Todd made it so easy for us to set up, even going so far to help us transport all of our supplies (and there were a lot!) from our cars to the woods, setting us up with a massive jug of water, and then even bringing us another without us asking, just in case we were running out. Todd was super communicative and kind and answered all my anxious questions without delay. He also brought us dry wood and fire starters which made building — and maintaining — a fire super easy. Despite the rainy weather we had to contend with, my friends & I had a great weekend and that was largely because of Todd’s hospitality. We’d go back anytime!

Red Pine Forest Campsite

This is a really beautiful and peaceful campground and I really enjoyed my stay! The host is extremely friendly and helpful and provides water for your stay. The property is amazingly beautiful with excellent hiking trails you can walk along to see the beautiful views. The property is large and expansive so it’s feels extremely private but also safe. The toilets are clean and easy to use and they have nice fire pits to have a fire. Highly recommend!

Ridge Top Campsite

The site was beautiful! We were only there for one night and unfortunately didn’t have time to explore. Todd the host was extremely helpful and friendly. He helped us get our gear to and from the campsite. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

We actually were not able to make our camp due to inclement weather, but our host was incredibly communicative and responsive. Booking, questions and concerns were all responded to in a very timely manner. We are looking forward to booking for another time!

Red Pine Forest Campsite

The homestead, and specifically the pine grove campsite is a gem! Todd is a gracious host and very accommodating. He got in contact with me ahead of time to set the arrival expectations and was quick to respond when I sent him a message. I enjoyed being able to wander around a large property and really experience the beautiful, picturesque setting! The site had plenty of flat area to accommodate tents, but I really wished I had brought a hammock, as the pines are spaced perfectly. He also provided a bundle of firewood and starter, with plenty of deadfall nearby to collect. Todd also made sure I had enough water and showed where to get more. In summary, I cannot recommend this site more for fans of a traditional camping experience. It is close enough to Cooperstown and plenty of other recreation, too, but you don’t even need to leave the Brook Hollow Homestead. I sincerely hope my future travels bring me back one day.
