Nestled outside the village of Stillwater, NJ right across the Appalachian trail and the Kittatinny Mountain Ridge, Camp David sports three luxurious log cabins: > Bell's Cabin- Main cabin that sleeps up to six > The Chatham House- Sleeps up to ten > Chief's Cottage- sleeps up to ten All cabins have their own separate listing and can be booked together or combined. The main cabin, Belle's Cabin, is made from hand hewed logs and is the only cabin furnished with a king size bed. All cabins come equipped with full bathrooms, updated kitchens, wood stoves, and the main cabin has a walkout porch on the second floor. All cabins have climate controlled heating/cooling units as well as hot water. Camp David was originally a German hunting camp at the turn of the 20th century. It was later donated to the Boy Scouts in the 1940’s. By the 2000’s, it was left abandoned at which time I purchased it and began to restore it back to its true form while maintaining the cabin life integrity. I am a contractor and arborist by trade and the last ten years I have worked hard to bring the site back to life. The camp consists of 13 acres abutted by 100's of acres of state park land. There are two stocked ponds connected by a cascading stream, multiple fire pits with seating, furnished gazebo with wood stove, picnic tables, and multiple park benches located throughout the property. Our fully updated cabin comes with a king, full and two single beds and is fully bedded with blankets and pillows. Bell’s Cabin has two floors. Our first floor has an open layout style with full kitchen, dining area, and living room area with fireplace. Our full private bathroom is also located on the first floor. Bell’s Cabin Bell's Cabin is the original, turn of the century log cabin where you can still visibly see the hand hewn logs. It has the old country charm with all the modern amenities. It is furnished with a king size, full size and two twin size beds with bedding and pillows. Bell’s Cabin has two floors. The first floor has an open layout style with kitchen, sitting area, and separate bathroom. Our second floor is an open layout bedroom which contains the bedding. 2. Chief’s Cottage For those needing an alternative stay without stairs, our Chief’s Cottage cabin is completely ground level, accessible by ramp, and wheelchair accessible including the bathroom. Chief's Cottage has a king size bed, two full beds (bunked), and two twin beds (bunked). All beds are fully bedded with blankets and pillows. 3. The Chatham House The Chatham House has two full beds and two single beds and is fully bedded with blankets and pillows. It is an open layout/ great room style. We had a great weekend in the chief’s cabin as a group of four. It truly could not have been any nicer and still be considered a cabin. The furniture and construction gives the cabin a great smell that reminds you you’re in the woods even as you’re soaking in a copper tub and surrounded by air conditioning. The site features multiple large fire pits and a full stock of wood and kindling for burning. We visited crater lake but be prepared for an almost 40 minute drive despite it being only a mile away by hiking trail. Dave is a kind and well informed host and we felt completely safe, comfortable, and secluded at his property.

We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Dave received us with a beautiful fire and a tour of the grounds. The cabin was clean and very comfortabel. He gave us many tips on things to do in the region.

The Chatham House
Plenty of beautiful space on the property! The ponds are a particularly a wonderful and beautiful feature (good for fishing!). The campfire area is shared between the three cabins. Very close to good hiking, Delaware Watergap Area and 20 minutes from downtown Newton.

We had an excellent time staying at Bell’s Cabin. David was a great host and the property is beautiful. We are already talking about when we can visit again. Our trip was very relaxed, playing board games and enjoying the cabin fireplace. The full kitchen was clean and well-stocked with equipment. The cabin was very comfortable, with multiple nice beds and a very nice bathroom. It’s clear that the property is well-taken care of. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable time in the woods.

We really loved David's Camp! Everything was beautifully designed, maintained and clean. David greeted us in person and gave us a jar of food to feed the fish in the pond which our toddler absolutely loved. The entire campsite is a labor of love and had a nice human touch that we appreciated. Hope to be back in the summer!

We had a fantastic time at Camp David! We stayed at the Chief’s Cabin for a Bachlorette party. The grounds are gorgeous and extremely well kept. The cabins are updated with stunning bathrooms and the host Dave also gave us tips for great food around the area. I would recommend this property to both people who love to camp and people who love glamping! We will be staying here again.

This place is the right place for peace of mind and relaxation. Very nice clean grounds. Cabins are each amazing in their own way. The chiefs cabin I was in I fell in love with the bathroom. The work put into this place is noticed. David is very nice down to earth family man. Staff is very nice as well. Enjoyed the camp fire, melting marshmallows and making smores. The kitchen is fully equipped. And space is more than enough. We loved the pool table in our cabin. We will definitely be coming back again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Chief's cottage. The place inviting, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has everything one would need. The camp is quite big. The areas by the ponds are pretty. Our dog got to run and play around on the grass. We got to light campfires at night. David is sweet and friendly host. I would recommend Camp David without a doubt.

Amazing stay at Camp David. Communication with host was great and owner is very helpful. The property is beautifully cared for and designed for comfort and relaxation while enjoying nature. The cabin was perfectly appointed, beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Can't wait to come back!

Very nice and well-appointed cabin. You can really see all the work that David put in and the incredible history of this site. The surrounding area was beautiful, with the AT and many hiking and other outdoor recreation spots all around. the dog loved it, and there were several tasty restaurants nearby too

Amazing Stay at Camp David!

Stayed at Chief's Cabin and enjoyed a cozy, well-furnished and wonderful cabin. The bathroom was very modern with nice stonework and all heated. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a dinner for 4, and the pool table allowed for hours of enjoyment. The land included a spacious campfire area with pre-supplied wood and a nice trail down the lake where we tried to fish. Beds were super comfy as well. You wont find a better cabin in the area!

We loved staying at Camp David! It was 10 of us total and we were very comfortable in our cabin, and David was very accommodating and gave us a great suggestion to hike around Crater Lake. There is also an incredible outdoor fire pit (on top of the indoor wood stove) with plenty of firewood available. We highly recommend staying here!

Swiss chalet in a snowstorm

My family and I decided at the last last-minute to come to Camp David to enjoy the snow, and made some incredible memories with our two boys. We definitely plan to come back. The camp feels like a magical Swiss mountain village. The log cabin was so cozy and inviting, with the large wood-burning stove, two wonderful porches, modern kitchen appliances and spacious new bathroom. The 13 acres around camp are perfect for exploring. There are two ponds, outdoor fire pits and a covered seating space with its own wood-burning stove. There are good views of the mountain behind camp. David was such a welcoming and kind host.

Bell's Cabin
I booked 2 out of the 3 cabins for my husband's 30th birthday and I have nothing but amazing things to say about David and his property. The land is absolutely beautiful, secluded, and well-kept. You can tell how much love and attention went into the renovation. My friends and I loved it so much we are thinking about booking it yearly. David was SO nice and attentive to any questions we had. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique property that speaks for itself! Pictures do not do it justice. Thank you David!

Camp David is a really unique spot! I fished, I hiked, and I rested :). Everything was as described and David was super helpful on advising about hikes and food nearby. I definitely plan to come back with friends and family!

Perfect Weekend Retreat!

Camp David is a unique and special property that could serve as the perfect location for a variety of events. Every single person that particapted in our weekend retreat was blown away by the location. If you are looking for an outdoor retreat with a larger group this is the perfect spot. We spent the weekend with 15-20 friends and had more than plenty of space. Each building has it's own personality and all possess fully functioning bathrooms and kitchens. We mostly slept in two of the cabins and used the third as our main area for gathering and eating. The picnic table area was the perfect location for our Saturday night pig roast. During the day we played yard games such as cornnhole and can jam. At night we enjoyed the large fire pit and played cards in the cabin with the pool table. The property is sprawling and boasts two ponds that have plenty of fish. You are close enough to the essentials but far enough to get away from the hustle of everyday life. The property borders state protected land that further adds to the blissful environment. There is plenty room for parking which was helpful given that carpooling would have been difficult with people coming from all over. Lastly, the host was increidbly accomodating and helpful throughout the entirety of our stay. A humble and kind hearted man who wants people to enjoy the stunning retreat he has built over the years. We couldn't be more thankful!

A true retreat
Camp David - Fishing/Nature Retreat
We rented the cabins out again to have a birthday party for my son with his five friends. They loved running around the property and playing in the game room and fishing and making S'mores and roasting hot dogs. The property is a real oasis, quiet and surrounded by nature. The cabins are beautifully made. They are rustic but with enough amenities to make your stay more than comfortable. The owner is friendly, down-to-earth, and was very accommodating to our group. I highly recommend staying here if you want to get away from it all and relax in nature. We want to come back again and enjoy ourselves during the summer season.

Our host David was a pleasure to work with. We communicated by text before our trip and David was extremely helpful and accommodating. He answered all of my questions very promptly. The property and accommodations exceeded our expectations! You can clearly see the labor of love and the detail that went into all aspects of the property and lodging. Everything had a newness to it - fresh and clean. Our group of 6 stayed in the lodge. The lodge has every amenity you would need to be extremely comfortable. We happened to stay on a very cold night (- 7F). We had no issues staying nice and toasty in the upper lodge. We spent a beautiful evening around the campfire. The property itself is very pretty. You can hike, fish, or just read a book and relax. David had fishing rods and many other well-thought-out extras. We can not wait to book another trip to Camp David!

I loved it there. We made S'mores and brought our dog. David was very nice and there was a lot of nature around. The beds were soft, and the fires inside and outside were nice and toasty.

We highly recommend this property for your next getaway. We had an absolutely perfect stay at Camp David. The property is large and secluded from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There is so much beautiful nature to lose yourself in. The main cabin house is exquisite. It is cozy and charming. David has done an outstanding job of fully renovating and modernizing a country cabin into a piece of heaven in the woods. David is an amazing host. We saw him at the beginning and end of our stay. He made sure that we had everything we needed to feel at home. Whether you are a couple or a larger gathering, do yourself a favor and stay at Camp David. You'll probably want to go back again and again.
