We do not have designated campsites, rather, you can choose whatever patch of grass you like in our two yard areas. Hang out by the communal fire pit or use one of the smaller firepits or tables sprinkled around the property. Bring your own tent, sleeping equipment, towels, and camping chairs. tenting is located in our backyard. You have full access to the hostel as part of your stay! *Please note: there is no fridge access for tenters when the hostel is full. Please bring a cooler!*

First time hostel experience. I was expecting all 20 somethings, but pleasantly surprised all ages were represented. We camped in the yard and it was clean and well maintained with plenty of space. It allowed us access inside of the hostel and more importantly a hot shower. Everyone was welcoming to my small dog, and I felt safe both outside and in. Highly recommend.

Really well run hostel. Serena was very accommodating and did my laundry for me. The hot shower was the icing on top after a few days of camping.

As a lesbian traveling with her girlfriend, we felt very safe. The site is effectively the backyard to the hostel, so we where able to use the indoor amenities of the hostel like the showers, but we where still able to be separate in our own tent. I would recommend this site for anyone who is changing camping locations each day. This site was great for a quick pitch of our tent and to be able to break down the next morning and head on our adventure.

Very warm welcome at notch hostel. Directions were clear. Hadn't camped at a hostel before but there were many perks -- hot shower, coffee in the morning. Backyard had a firepit and garden. Would recommend booking directly from their website to avoid additional $$

My travel companion and I had a great time staying at this hostel. The location is great for day hikes, and the facilities were clean and convenient. Our host and the staff were kind and hospitable. I definitely recommend this hostel and will be back in the future!

Bustling hostel serving mostly AT through hookers, at least the weekend I was there. Really well run, friendly/helpful staff, clean and accessable amenities. Absolutely would stay again!

The Notch was great! First & importantly, I’m a black solo female camper and I felt very safe and welcomed. Arriving was a little confusing, it was busy and I couldn’t distinguish which door to use or who was staff and who was patron. There is a shuttle for thru-hikers and I arrived right at drop off and pick up time, but once I found someone I was pleasantly greeted and shown around. The camping area was very cozy. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Plus there is a group campfire area. It is a backyard type set up so if you want privacy it’s not exactly that. I could hear other campers cough at night and I’m sure they heard me snore. However, it’s beautiful and clean and use of the common areas in the hostel make it worth it. Plus other than normal sleeping noises it’s extremely quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms and showers are pristine! I enjoyed use of the kitchen, cooking can be a lot when camping. Since I was on a month long journey, campsite dishwashing can get old. It was nice to have a kitchen. I can be a bit shy, but I enjoyed reading in the book nook and was greeted by such kind ppl I actually held a conversation! It was very busy the days I stayed, it’s right around the time that many on the Appalachian Trail hit New Hampshire, so many thru-hikers were coming and going. I wanted to day hike the White Mountain National Forest and this was a great location to hit trailheads. The staff was warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend and return.

Great stay at the Notch! I camped for two nights at one of their tent sites. It was quiet and so nice to have the indoor shower, toilet, and WiFi when needed!

We loved camping at the Notch! It's not far off the road, and there's a bit more light around as it's in a residential area, so recommend earplugs & an eye mask for sleeping. But it was great to get a hot shower & to be able to use the fridge in the hostel while we were up camping and hiking the Whites. Great spot, really friendly host, and pet-friendly!
