I booked this campground due to its description and positive reviews. Unfortunately, my family was left disappointed. The advertiser didn't show up. We were left confused, trying to find the spot. This spot was not labeled, or even legally numbered. No indication of the camping spot or a legal address. Even after the confusion and contacting the spot owner, he never met with us. It was requested in the advert to let host know of arrival time, so that they would meet campers on-site. Even after reaching out, confused, site owner never showed at driveway or camp spot to help. Advertising claimed private site, with fire ring and ledge on fire for cooking, with trails within walking distance. Camp site was a walk into the woods (we would need to carry all our Camp gear a half mile into the woods) to setup site. We felt site was misrepresented. Man in truck camper, which only came out to ask what we were doing, was he the site owner or not (?), was camped on ground overseeing the wooded area (campsite). The feeling received was uncomfortable, unplanned, misrepresented, and unsafe.

We absolutely loved tenting at Matthew’s land. He was very helpful with giving the directions to his address as well as to the renting spot. The location is very good peaceful and safe.

This site was totally private with just a short walk into woods from parking. The sounds and smells of the forest was mesmerizing!! Didn't want to leave, will definitely be back!

We love the privacy of this site. It’s really hard to find somewhere that welcomes off leash dogs. Our dogs are trained to stick around but still love a large space to explore without worrying about getting tangled in tether lines. We love being the only people on site and enjoying the quietness of nature!

It was so much fun camping here, our kids had a blast! There was so much to explore and we loved seeing all the little salamanders.

Unfortunately the campsite looked nothing like the photos. The nice cozy tent platform, benches, and clean fire pit other campers shared photos of were nonexistent. Matthew reached out before the trip and seemed nice and helpful. He mentioned that a previous camper left a tent behind but we shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. When we arrived, his friend directed us to the "trail" to an alternate campsite (100+ yards from parking). When we got there, it was completely overgrown with weeds and ferns. Literally no bare ground. There was an enormous 8+ person tent that looked like someone was squatting there. It was full of dirty old blankets, trash, propane bottles, and - not even making this part up - a LITTER BOX complete with cat litter, a pet carrier, and dirty pet food dishes. My friend, who I dragged 3.5 hours to go camping here, was mortified. There was no way we were going to set up a tent in the weeds next to a dirty encampment. We wandered in the dark looking for other spots and there was junk everywhere - old furniture, propane bottles, rotting tents... we couldn't find a single decent flat piece of ground and ended up tenting in the parking lot next to our car. It looks like once upon a time this might have been nice, but not any more. PLEASE Matthew clean this place up and make it nice again, as it stands you are seriously misleading people by booking sites on here. I can't imagine showing up here with my family.

Nice, quiet little spot to stake a tent and have a fire. Matt is really helpful, considerate, and has a nice little spot to relax and enjoy being out in Nature.

The forest at Matthew’s was so lovely! It was amazing to see a forest at all its natural stages and you can wander throughout the land. Even though it was raining it was magical to explore the forest with Matthew’s explanation of the mycelium structure underneath and how everything was connected. We appreciated Matthew’s hike with us and his super cute dog, Seamus, where we saw old rock foundations of past settlers & learned about different plants! The pinnacle of the hike was really cool - you could see Mt. Acutsney and far out. Make sure to bring repellent since it is buggy in the woods.

My girlfriend and I had a great time at Matthews tent platform! There was a trailer right next to the site which was offputting at first but once we found out it wasnt occupied we had a great time!

Single lot camping site with a good sized raised wooden platform for your tent and most likely extra space depending on your tent size. Fire pit to use, with accessories for cooking and was provided some extra water for putting out the fire afterwards. There's also a outhouse on the site that is well maintained and clean. Lot is on the property of a friendly family that are approachable but are unobtrusive.

This woodsy retreat was absolutely lovely, and Matthew was a wonderful host! We found the physical space deeply relaxing, tucked away in a beautiful little corner of forest with plenty of sun, trails, and space to explore. The platform itself was sturdy and solid, and the firepit provided a perfect space to cook our meals (including a spare cooking grate on which we roasted some sausages). Matthew was responsive, friendly, and helpful--he happily gave us a jump when our car battery died. Highly recommend this oasis in the trees, and we'll certainly be back!

This spot is fantastic! Matthew was great with communication and very helpful. He checked in with me, but didn't stay long enough to be unwelcome. I was very impressed by the compost toilet. It was so clean and easy to use! I would absolutely revisit this tent site.
One thing worth mentioning is that you can see a trailer, cabin, and yurt from the site. It wasn't a problem for me at all, but if you're looking to be completely immersed in nature or solitude, it might not be what you're looking for.
