Great stay
A great night under the stars. Tom and Joseph are good people and the mine has plenty of good specimens for all.
The bullfrogs kept cadence all night, but no encounters with any other animals.
Primitive sites that I would visit again and recommend to anyone interested in camping and rockhounding.

So secluded and peaceful! The fireflies over the lake at night made the nights magical. Thank you, Joseph!

Overnights at the pond
Beautiful view of the pond, took a quick dip in the cold water after a hot June day collecting minerals at the mine. Used the canoe too. Fireflies put on a show at night around my tent and the resident beaver slapped his tail letting me know this was his territory. Very peaceful. Joe is a pleasant host and happy to talk about the mines.

Rockhounding Camper’s Dream
Joe is a wonderful host of this Rockhounder’s Paradise!!
He is super nice, very responsive to questions or concerns whether was via the app, text messages or in person & has extensive knowledge of the property, and can point out which area is best for finding rose, smoky, clear or milky quartz, garnets, schorl (black tourmaline), and beryls.
Suggestions for guests:
- If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs because the frogs are loud
- If you’ve got sore joints, bring padding for under your sleeping bag
- BUG SPRAY!
