Jardine Retreat camping area sits on a unique and beautiful piece of property in the heart of Jardine, Montana. Bear Creek winds through the property, with several great places to sit by the water and enjoy the surroundings. Plans are in the works for a small retreat center on the property, and in the meantime, we welcome people to camp at this amazing location and enjoy the relaxing space. Your host & owner of Jardine Retreat, Zondra is a massage therapist with a massage studio right next to the camping location. Jardine Retreat guests get priority booking for massage appointments. On the downstream side of the camping area, we have a large, 16’ x 24’ wall tent outfitted with two cots, a sectional couch, table and wood stove (no bedding provided, please bring your own sleeping bags). You can either sleep in the wall tent, or set up your own tents and use the wall tent as a lounge area. The wall tent sits right on the bank of Bear Creek, with a lovely view of the creek right out the front door, and the sounds of water to lull you to sleep. Due to bear safety, we do not allow cooking in the wall tent – please use the creek side cookshack. On the upstream side of the camping area, we have one dispersed RV site, with no hookups. RV campers need to be self contained, with their own toilet. There is a communal cookshack pavilion right on the creek, with a BBQ grill, counter & picnic table where you can cook, enjoy your meals & relax by the creek. We take bear safety very seriously, and do not allow any food or drink (besides water) in the wall tent – please do your cooking and eating at the cookshack. Food & other bear attractants must be secured in your vehicle at night, and cookshack area must be cleaned up immediately after use. Not all of Jardine Retreat is part of this new camping area. We ask that you please stay in the designated camping space and do not access construction zones, out buildings & other marked off areas of private property. There are fences and signs designating where you cannot enter. We are currently remodeling an 1880’s historic cabin and turning it into a bath house for you to use next time you camp here – but currently there are no usable facilities & no access to any of the cabins on the property.

Jardine Retreat Wall Tent

100%
(3)
Canvas tent · Sleeps 10
Welcome to one of the most beautiful spots in the area, on the banks of Bear Creek, surrounded by nature. Use the provided wall tent, and also feel free to set up your own tents. A comfy sectional couch (sleeps two) and two cots are provided. We do not provide bedding, so you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags. The camping area is located within a curve of Bear Creek, so there is lots of space right along the creek to lounge or set up your tent or camp chairs. There is a big open shared field for you to enjoy, but please watch out for gopher holes, rocks, thistle, nettle and other natural elements. Your host & owner of Jardine Retreat, Zondra is a massage therapist with a massage studio right next to the camping location. Jardine Retreat guests get priority booking for massage appointments (you can even reserve massages when you reserve your Hipcamp site). Due to our location in bear country, food preparation and eating inside the wall tent are strictly prohibited. The wood stove is intended solely for heating. Please use the provided cookshack as your kitchen and keep bear attractants out of and away from the tent. Lock your food and smelly items (including toiletries) into your hard sided vehicle for the night. We ask that you please stay in the designated camping space and do not access construction zones, out buildings & other marked off areas. There are fences and signs designating where you cannot enter. We are currently remodeling an 1880’s historic cabin and turning it into a bath house for you to use next time you camp here – but for now there is no access to any of the cabins on the property. We do a lot of building with reclaimed materials. We have piles of lumber, metal and other miscellaneous materials around the property that have nails and other hazards in them and therefore are strictly off limits to guests, for your safety. Your host, Zondra, lives on the property, just across the creek. Her co-host, Maya, a friendly German Shepherd, claims ownership to the whole property and may sneak out to greet you with a wagging tail and ask you to throw the stick, please let us know in advance how you feel about this (do you want to be left alone, or do you want to throw the stick 1000 times?)
