Hi welcome to The Hippie Hideaway. Let me tell you a little bit about what you will get to enjoy. My main goal is for you to feel free, relaxed, and reenergized. You will have a huge open area for you and your family to enjoy spending time together without sharing your experience with strangers. You can enjoy the watching the northern lights and star gazing. We have about a mile of walking trails that whined around a few sloughs and into a prairie where you will see a variety of wildlife, butterflies, and native plants. Shell and Island Lake are both within a few miles, The Tamarac Refuge is also just a few miles away. The Smokey Hills and Two Inlets 4 wheeling trails are also close. and Itasca State Park is about a 45min drive. Our property offers several different landscapes perfect for pictures. We have a variety of animals that wonder onto our property including deer, bear, otters, and raccoons.Pitch your tent or pull your camper into our little piece of paradise. The site includes a fire pit and picnic table. You will be camping in a huge open area that has been cleared you can choose where you would like to set up camp anywhere in the area. You can choose to have the area all to yourselves or share it with your family and friends. the area can hold up to 6 campers and several tents. Perfect for group camping trips. You will have access to about 30+ acres with beautiful walking trails. We have a lot of wild life that can be seen wondering around. Our property is perfect for star gazing. No toilets available please provide your own.

We spent 3 nights here. It was quite, and very private. This site was perfect for our weekend plans. We traveled to Itasca State Park, and the Detroit Lakes area.

I was so sad I had to cut my trip short for family reasons. I was scheduled to stay six nights. I had the best time. A completely new camping experience for me. One site. Thirty-six acres. All mine. All to yourself. One fire pit. One picnic table. Who does this? Lisa and her husband do. They could fit ten more sites on their property if they wanted, but they know the value of this once in a lifetime. It was quiet. Peaceful. Beautiful. I saw Lisa on the first day. She welcomed me with a smile on a quad. But she was always in touch and she responded quickly to my questions. I liked that her roosters woke me up every morning. I regret not going on the trail. But with so much space I was able to shank a few golf balls into the field with my nine iron. This may be your only chance to get a slight idea of what Henry David Thoreau at Walden felt like. It’s different. WELL worth the fee. And you’ll come away feeling better about pretty much everything.
