Spent most of our time mountain biking in cuyuna. We slept well. Place was kept clean. Great cozy spot

We ended up leaving this property early due to several serious issues that made the stay uncomfortable and unsanitary.
First and most concerning, there was a severe mouse infestation. We found droppings throughout the house, including in the fridge, in the inside storage areas, and next to and under the mattress. There was also ample mouse evidence outside throughout the property including in the spray foam sprayed under the cabin, so it is likely they are getting in through there. We also discovered 3 dead mice inside the air conditioning unit, which we believe is the strong, foul odor other reviews have referenced. It was completely uninhabitable and raised serious health concerns for our family because we had our toddler with us.
In addition, the property itself was overgrown and poorly maintained. We spent the first two hours of our stay clearing branches, wiping down surfaces, and removing debris just to make the outside space usable.

Staying at what I would call an art installation during a heat wave made our weekend at Cayuna a trip to never be forgotten! Finding solace in an AC shelter was an amazing experience in 90° weather.
I will definitely come here again!

Overall nice space, it's not as private as I expected and some of the communal goods were dusty/dirty.
However the space is cool and the night time loon calls nearby were super neat

We loved the container cabin! We have a family of 4 it was tight but we made it work. First time in a bathroom like that didn't expect the shower to be hot but it definitely was!
Very peaceful yet close enough to bike to everything.

We have done a lot of camping and thought it would be fun to try a container for our memorial weekend trip. The concept is unique but unfortunately the smell of urine/porta potty inside the container was very strong and despite the 3 air freshener sprays they left out it did not help. The windows also do not open so we couldnât get any air flow. I saw another review that mentioned the smell but others that didnât so if you are sensitive to smells, I would avoid renting at this place. I did leave a message for the owner about the smell but never heard anything back.

We enjoy camping so this was a nice compromiseâŚa warm place to sleep and relax with the enjoyment of cooking outside over a fire. Comfortable, warm, and relaxing. Would recommend.

We absolutely loved the location & ambiance of the container house! We enjoyed the large windows and patio for slow mornings and star gazing at night.âşď¸ We rented mountain bikes in Cuyuna which was less than 10 minutes from the rental and the downtown area was perfect for dinner & drinks.

Epic spot! The fall views were phenomenal & the added amenity of having the shipping container sleeping space made camping so fun. The perfect spot for families, boys ran around the woods, built forts, and explored. The spot has everything you need. There was enough room to bring our BFX adventure trailer too. Highly recommend. đ

Had booked it for two nights, easy to find even in the dark. However, once we got it open and entered the smell or urine mixed with air fresheners was overwhelming.
To make matters worse, neither window worked. We managed to find a couple sticks in the dark to prop open the window to bring in some fresh air. However, it was nauseating.
We got up at 7am and promptly left 9 hours later and found a hotel for night two.
Zero chance I would recommend this place.

The container worked great for us. Itâs only 1 1/2 miles from a cute town with lots of stuff, but it feels pretty remote being surrounded by the woods. There is a house that is slightly viewable, but it wasnât a big deal for us. The space is small which wasnât a big problem as the weather allowed us to be mostly outside. The fridge was helpful and it was certainly nice to have the shower. The toilet wasnât that big of a deal other than maybe it could be cleaned better between guests. There was an odor that we covered by burning a scented candle most of the time. Iâd suggest bringing canvas chairs as the provided chairs are not that great for long stretches of time. I was also thankful to have brought a roll of paper towels. Think campingâŚyou still need to bring some stuff, there are just a few better amenities.

We loved this place. Beautiful scenery. Really nice area to sit and soak up some sun om the porch, yet enough color to enjoy the day outside. AC worked great. The dry toilet threw me off a bit. Was definitely a first for me, but other than that it was a pretty cool little place to stay.

Overall we had a wonderful experience, but running out of water and the toilet situation is not something we enjoyed dealing with. It would be nice to know how long the water would last.
Direction to get to the container could be a little more clearer.

This was a beautiful location and it made us feel like we were camping deep in the woods. The stay was close to many small towns with cute shops, bars, and places to eat (and fish!). I loved sitting on the deck and drinking coffee early in the morning and sitting around the campfire at night. The host was so easy to communicate with and helpful. I'm already looking forward to staying here again!

We stayed at the forest container for a getaway with my wife and I. We had a great experience, the container is really unique and cozy place to stay in and fairly remote feeling while still being real close to Crosby and MTB trails. We would come visit again!

Thomas responds to messages within minutes and was able to solve one small issue we had within the hour. He is kind and it is clear that guest satisfaction is the top priority.
The interior decoration is enough to make a guy who went tent camping all his life get pretty used to this âglampingâ stuff. The remote control HVAC and heated flooring are perfect for a return from a hot afternoon hike or a chilly night. Comfty bed and serenely quiet. Wall plugs conveniently placed all around and well lit. If youâre looking to eat away, itâs got everything you need, nothing you donât, and terrific hosts if anything comes up. Book it while you can!

This container home was located in the beautiful forest surrounded by trees. Had plenty of shade but also clear enough to allow some sun through though it rained a bit during our stay. The home was quite basic but had all the things we needed to feel not entirely rustic including creature comforts of running water, electricity (plenty of plug options), a dry toilet and shower which after a long day of milking the trails was nice and refreshing. Location was very close to Cuyuna recreation area where if you bike trails or mountain bike is the spot for you. Very scenic trails with many lakes nearby. The bed was comfortable and we slept well on it. Mini fridge and coffeemaker outside in a little storage cabinet with power and that worked just fine and helped keep some space free indoors. All in all, it was a great stay and we would recommend this to friends. Loved checking a container home stay off our bucket list. Thanks Tom for the hospitality.

What a lovely, peaceful place to stay! The Forest Container is so cleverly made (I loved messing around with the creative lighting options) and so cozy warm, it was a delightful getaway. My favorite things were waking up and watching the sun rise from the comfy bed, and sitting on the deck watching the clouds and birds. Thomas was super helpful, and we had a great dinner out at the Iron Range eatery. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The container stay was nice and secluded in the woods for a nice quiet getaway from the cities and we were able to connect with nature. The inside was nice and cozy and we could play board games, journal and have a hot cup of coffee. I would recommend this stay to friends and family this was our first experience with the hip camp app and it was a fun way to camp in style.

We had a fantastic time at the Forest Container! Very unique and quirky! From the pictures we didn't realize the toilet is actually in the shower! Interesting use of space. We were a little apprehensive about the dry flush toilet, but it was easy to use and not a big deal. The adorable town of Crosby is only a few minutes away so you have easy access to a grocery store, restaurants, a brewery, coffee shop, etc. The Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area was a great spot to admire the fall colors. We hope to visit the area again and would definitely consider renting the Forest Container again!

This was a super unique and very nice place to get away for a weekend. The deck was amazing, loved the coffee bar on the deck and relaxing with a good book in a beautiful setting. Having a nice hot running water and shower were nice. Dealing with the toilet was new to us, be sure you know where and how to dump it. Overall we loved this place and would return again for sure!
