Overall, it was a nice campsite — clean, mostly flat, and covered in long grass. As others have mentioned, trains pass by several times during the night. It wouldn’t be too bad if the tracks weren’t right next to a crossing, but the horn blows multiple times each time they go by.

Private area by the pottery shed. Picnic table. Rustic in every way. The two dogs are so welcoming and friendly. The train is an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. Stayed on the way to Michigan and again on the way back.

Last minute booking for night. I never met the hosts during my stay, but it was an holiday weekend. Easy to find. Open area, lots of options for setting up tent. As mentioned in previous posts, the train is loud.

We had a large grass area to set up our large tent. Plenty of space. A bonus, was the picnic table we were not expecting.
There were a few 2 am and 3am
trains that were very close and loud. It wasn't a deal breaker, but something to be aware of.

This is my second time staying on this property, and I would definitely recommend it. It’s very accessible, well maintained, and the hosts are very welcoming. As a car camper, I found it very convenient. Trains can be heard a couple times a night, which didn’t bother me, but might be a problem for some.

Spot was exactly as described. Open space far enough away from the house that it felt private. Close to Duluth and Hermantown where the Blue Angels Airshow is hosted. The owners stopped by to greet us- very kind and personable. The pups also came by to say hi a few times. They were friendly and left as quickly as they came. The trains came through at night and it was pretty loud, but did not bother us. The self-serve pottery barn was my favorite! Jennifer is very talented artist. I recommend stopping by even if you don't plan to camp to get yourself one of her unique pieces.

We had a great experience! The space was private and peaceful. Easy to enter and exit with our 28ft TT. Highly recommend! The self serve pottery shed was a fun bonus! I now have a beautiful handmade coffee mug thanks to Jennifer’s talent with the clay.

Pleasant setting, quiet and peaceful. We heard a train, not a big deal. Had a good night’s sleep after a long drive. And got to meet the dogs!

Simple site that was easy to pull off to for the night. Not much in the way of amenities, but that was clear in the post and I just needed a safe place to sleep for the night. I did hear the train as I was going to bed around 10pm but don’t think I heard it again overnight.

Loved the site, but particularly our little doggie friends Bernice and Selena. Cute pond, adorable self-serve pottery store, and gorgeous stars. Overall a great stay and would recommend in the future. Train passes by (as described), but honestly wasn't a big deal for us. Hosts are accommodating and friendly - even gave our curious daughter a garden tour complete w/tastings!

We were in the area for a mountain bike race and had a wonderful experience! The location was easy to park the camper, close (but not too close) to town, and the host was excellent! Highly recommend!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars!

We loved staying at Pondside for a night. The grounds were clean, quiet and wide open. We were greeted on arrival and shown the ropes. The hosts were very friendly and informative. We only stayed one night and would recommend for others.

Good place to crash last minute. We were the only tent campers with 4 other rv/camper set ups. Easy instructions and good description. Yes, there is a train that went through 3-4 times through the night which could be difficult for a light sleeper with a tents set up. Besides that, good location.

Had a great time. Train noise was a slight bother, but really wasn't noticeable after the first night. We were greeted by a very friendly dog. Close enough to drive to either Duluth or Esko/Cloquet.

This site fit our needs. It is a short drive, mostly Interstate, into Duluth for day trips into the city. The site is remote enough so we had privacy and felt secure. It is also a short rural drive into Cloquet. Where we stopped for gas and replenished supplies at Walmart.
The host's description of the site was accurate. Also read the reviews when deciding to stay here. The area we stayed was on grass and not flat. No complaints from us as this is in the description. We have a FWD campervan that tends to be heavier on the rear wheels. This makes driving on inclines in wet grass more challenging as our traction is not the best on such surfaces. We parked on our traction boards under the front wheels for peace of mind. We had no problem driving out the next morning.
A couple of other things to note. It was summer in Minnesota. There were a fair amount of mosquitoes out in the grass. This is expected. Also, the site is near an active railway, with many trains passing in the night. Usually not a problem however it is near a crossing, so the trains blow their horns when approaching the crossing. Again, you've been warned.
Check out the pottery shop when staying here. Also, say hello to the two very friendly dogs that greeted us on our first night. They were quite the pair and put huge smiles on our faces.

The space was semi secluded and relatively quiet. Do note there is a train that runs nearby in the middle of the night. Mosquitoes were troublesome, so bring bug spray and protection. The hosts were kind and responsive, and their dogs were a delightful welcoming committee for me and mine. Also check out the pottery shed. Lots of beautiful work to buy or window shop.

Great communication from host. She warned us of current conditions is in the area due to very wet weather. The site was exactly as described in the listing.

Site was nice and spacious. Bugs were incredibly bad and that info was not on the listing. The dogs on site barked at our tent pretty late into the night and are very comfortable coming up to people.

A nice, level spot, easy to find and access. Was more than suitable for two nights of car camping. If you’re fine with bringing everything you need for a no-frills camping experience, this site will suit you well. There’s occasional road noise and a train can be heard once or twice per night. Hosts are polite and responsive to messages. Site is within view of the hosts’ house, if isolation/privacy is a concern for you.
