Hello and Welcome to Grateful Acres!! *Update* Wifi has been installed at Grateful Acres and is included with each booking. Message me prior to arrival for current password. Also new this year is a small bathroom house with a flush toilet (in season only) located on the back side of campsite #1 for use by all guests. I have two sites available that will accommodate both travel trailers, as well as tents. Both have 30amp RV and 120v outlets, as well as lights for late arrival setup. In the welcome Hut, you will find dry firewood for purchase, as well as a refrigerator and freezer for use by our guests. Each site has its own labeled shelf to keep your perishables fresh. Also available for purchase are organic farm fresh eggs, cold soda, and bottled water, as well as bags of ice in the freezer. At Grateful Acres we aim to make your stay with us, as enjoyable as possible. The two sites sit on 3 beautiful, quiet acres in Northern Michigan. Site #1 is flat, open, and spacious, while site #2 is a bit more enclosed and private tucked into the trees. Both sites come furnished with a picnic table, a fire ring with attached grill for cooking and 2 adirondack chairs. The Star gazing at night is absolutley Amazing!! The property is centrally located between Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Alanson. Nearby are many lakes, rivers, state forests, mountain biking trails, golf courses and ski resorts. Campsite #2 is peaceful and private. The terrain is mostly flat with soft mowed grass and mulch around the picnic table area. There is a picnic table and fire ring that doubles as a bbq grill with the attached adjustable grill grate, a fire poker and screen are also included. There is also power available with 1- 30amp RV outlet and 2- 120v GFI outlets along with 2- lights on a switch which is nice for late arrival setups. The outhouse is also located to the rear of the site.

Campsite #1 is the most spacious of the two sites I have. The terrain is mostly flat with soft mowed grass. There is a picnic table and fire ring that doubles as a bbq grill with the attached adjustable grill grate, a fire poker and screen are also included. Nice camp spot. Flush toilet was also nice to have. No potable water tho. Neighbors across the road were noisy the 1st night, but that’s not the camp owners fault. WiFi password listed was wrong. Owner sent the right one, but I had already checked out. Spot seemed a little pricy for what you got…but overall a decent camp spot.

This was the perfect place for me. I liked campsite 2. It felt private and had everything I needed. They also had options for sale : sodas, firewood, popsicle... The site is near a road, although it is completely quiet in the evenings. The sky was beautiful and area was very still. It's also near lots of fun things to do. I will be back again and again.

We loved our stay at Grateful Acres. The property is nicely maintained and it had thoughtful touches. It was a quick drive to Boyne Highlands. I highly recommend it.

Matt is very easy to communicate with any questions. The camping was as pictured. Nice setup. It had nice little touches such as lighted path to bathroom. There were chairs and a fire pit. Easy in and out of the property.

The space was great! Having electricity and wifi was amazing especially because I am in school and needed to do homework while camping. Only a 10 minute drive to The Highlands Bike Park which was our main attraction. Only 8 minute drive to closest gas station with essentials. Absolutely LOVED hearing the different birds and animals in the morning. Overall, great experience and would definitely come back!

Great camp site for our needs! We winter car camped here for a night given the proximity to Nub’s and Boyne highlands to hit the slopes. 5 minute drive, clean and convenient bathroom/outhouse and close proximity to Petosky and Harbor Springs if you need anything. Would recommend for your basic campsite needs for a reasonable price and proximity to the areas mentioned above!

Beautiful location with some amazing fall colors. Easy enough to find the location at night but finding the spot was a bit trickier to find in the dark. All in all it was exactly what we needed and we’d be back if we go that way.

Grateful Acres is in a very pretty location...rolling hills, surrounded by trees. Matt's friend greeted me and showed me to my spot when I first arrived. I spent some time chatting with him and the other people on-site who were all very friendly. It is definitely a great place to disconnect and unwind. Please note that Verizon doesn't work there, but AT&T does. So, you'll definitely be disconnecting if you have Verizon. :)

Best choice for camping in the area. Convenient to town and beaches are a short drive on scenic country backroads. The host has a refrigerator/freezer (stocked with ice for a small fee) on site making meal and picnic prep simple. Plenty of nature and quiet makes for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend for an overnight or extended stay

Overall this was a decent experience, host was responsive to questions and there are some nice touches like the lighting around the site, fridge available for use, soda/popsicles available for purchase, motion activated light in the outhouse, and availability of electricity. However, the site was not as private as description made it sound, it is open to the host's house and is just a few steps from the other site, and not far from the road. We pick sites based on privacy because we have a dog that doesn't like other dogs, so this is important to us and could have been a problem if there were other dogs around. Fortunately there was no one at the house that night, and no one staying in the other site the night we were there. The most direct route from the other site to the outhouse also goes directly through this site, which could also have been awkward if others were around. It felt to me like this location would function better as a single site rather than the 2 that are advertised... it would be great for a larger group traveling together, with multiple tents or vehicles that wanted a little privacy, but it's less ideal for groups that don't know each other or who have animals who would be upset by the other's presence.

We absolutely loved camping on Matt’s land for the holiday weekend!! Directions were clear to find the site and Matt even went the extra mile to ensure our campsite was lit for our late arrival. Matt was such a wonderful host, making sure to check in on us each day and provided some great recommendations of the area. Our site was secluded, and laid out perfectly. Perfect distances to downtown Petoskey/Harbor springs. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back again!

The campsite was just as expected. Everything was clean, neat and private. The refrigerator for storing cold items was a nice touch. I didn't experience any road noise throughout the night. Matt's place was easy to find and conveniently located for my trip. Matt was very friendly. I would stay here again if in the area.

Sites are as advertised. No surprises. There's no internet/cell, which we appreciated, but others may not. Really convenient for getting into Petoskey/Harbor Springs, if you want, or avoiding both towns and the traffic. Met the owner. Nice guy, plans to make improvements and add sites.

Had a quick little overnight winter camping trip and this spot was perfect for us. It had recently snowed and it had been freshly plowed, leaving us a perfect clearing for setting up our tent. The site was right next to the road but there was very minimal traffic and in normal camping season, the foilage will create a nice barrier. The outhouse at our site was very well maintained and a welcome site in the middle of winter! Also, to our surprise, a motion light inside! Super handy for middle of the night trips to the toilet! This was a great place in a perfect location. Highly recommend!

This was a lovely stay and Matt was a wonderful host. While we have our own powered cooler, the covered fridge that housed the wood bundles was such a cool add on. The wood bundles we purchased were huge! This campsite is secluded from the other on the site, which is what we were looking for. It isn't too far away from the road, but I will say it wasn't busy at all. The outhouse was right off this site which was very convenient. Wonderful stay really close to some nice hikes.
