We had a fantastic stay at Site 1 – Elm Valley (hosted by Jayne). From the moment we arrived, Jayne greeted us warmly, offered firewood, and helped guide our 22-ft travel trailer into the perfect spot. The site was level, flat, with water & electric hookups—just what we needed. We were among the last campers of the season and feel grateful we were able to secure such a great location. The location was very convenient—several wineries were just a short drive away—making it easy to explore when time permitted. We were in town for the Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race and enjoyed chatting with Jayne about the event and her family/friends who’ve done it. Upon departure, her husband stopped by to ensure everything was good—it wrapped up the stay perfectly. Jayne is exactly the kind of host you hope for: friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. We’ll absolutely plan to return—maybe next summer to make fuller use of those nearby wineries. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The scenery was stunning—fall colors everywhere and peaceful views in every direction. It was incredibly quiet and relaxing, perfect for a weekend getaway. The campsite were large, clean, and perfectly level, which made setup a breeze. You can really tell the hosts take pride in keeping the place beautiful and well-maintained.
We’ve done a lot of fall camping, and this was easily one of our favorites. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Jayne’s land was beautiful! The site was spacious and level! Jayne was friendly and welcoming. There were cute little pumpkins waiting for us on the picnic table. Tons to do in the area, but at the site it felt like we were truly away from it all. Would definitely stay there again!

Our family of four had an absolutely wonderful experience camping here in Northern Michigan! From the very beginning, communication with the hosts was excellent, and the booking process was simple and stress-free.
The grounds were spotless and clearly well cared for, making it easy to feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived. The location is unbeatable—just a short drive to Suttons Bay, Leland, Northport, Empire, and Traverse City, which made exploring the area a breeze.
Setting up camp was effortless, with water and power hookups that worked perfectly—no issues at all. Everything was smooth and convenient, allowing us to focus on making memories together.
What truly set this trip apart, though, were the hosts themselves. They went above and beyond to share their knowledge of the area and even took the time to teach us and our children about their incredible talents in woodworking and Petoskey Stone carving. It was both educational and unforgettable, and our kids are still talking about it!
We would return in a heartbeat and are already looking forward to our next visit. This place is a gem, and we can’t recommend it enough!

The site (site 1) was very private. The electric and water hook-ups were new and worked perfectly. It was nice to have fire wood and trash services on site as well. The best thing was the location as it was very close to everything we wanted to do the entire weekend. We would certainly stay there again.

We had a great stay here. It's up on a hill top with each camping spot having it's own fire pit, picnic table, electric and water. Hosts suggestions for Suttons Bay were spot on and we really enjoyed this small town about 10 to 15 minutes away.

Upon arrival Mike was quick to greet us and even helped back the trailer around into place. So peaceful and quiet….and just what we needed to reset. We will be going back to the area again and I would definitely stay there again. Absolutely loved the space and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Mike and Jayne.

The camp sites are a little tight and unlevel but once you get your camper situated, it is worth the trouble! The camp host and the owners are amazingly friendly and helpful. The site is very peaceful and private. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely contact them again when we are in the Sutton’s Bay area. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful! So helpful giving us information and insight to the local wineries, other places nearby. Kind and generous! Great directions to guide us in our class A 27ft with a tow. A beautiful quiet place to stay. Close to many places we explored i.e. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. We can’t wait to visit again!!

Excellent location! It’s so nice to be able to camp in a more private area. The grounds were clean and well kept. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our kids loved the trail next to the site. Will be back!

We had a wonderful stay! We booked out both sites for our party. The camp hosts were friendly and offered us smoked fish and fresh homemade salsa! We did not have the converters for the power but they had extra we could borrow. Our only recommendation for future travelers is to book the site closer to the house (I think it's site 1) with young kids.. the farther site has a small hill and the 15 month olds we traveled with would have done better on the lower site. Both sites had plenty of space and would be private if booking separately. We highly recommend this site to others!

The property was incredible and the space was clean and private. Jayne definitely was thoughtful with the space and we had everything that we needed. It was located near many vineyards and close to Traverse City and Suttons Bay. It was really the perfect location for us to use as a base as we explored the area.

Myself and 3 friends stayed 3 nights at Jayne and Mike's property. We were welcomed in like long time family friends and we instantly felt at home. Jayne and Mike's hospitality were above and beyond - they helped us as first time RV-ers with questions and concerns, we even spent the entire day visiting sites Mike suggested!
This vacation would have been awesome as is - but meeting the Schroeder's and their family friends - we departed from an unforgettable vacation with new Michigan friends!!
We were already talking to the Schroeder's about returning for longer - later this same year.

Such a wonderful place. The host was so joyful and helpful as this was our first RV adventure. We hiked the mini trails and had such a peaceful time. So close to so many cool spots! Hop Lot was our favorite.
