We loved the Cabin! It had a great view of the the steam and you could hear and see loons and owls. Excellent Bass fishing.

This is a great place to stay with the family. As another guest said, you should understand where you are going to and what you are getting. We followed recommendations on the website and brought everything we needed with us and our stay was great. I will definitely try to come in future if we ever decide to visit Maine again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had really good outdoor camp fires. The fishing was great. The canoe was nice to have for fishing. Bathroom was not so great but we still had a great time. Very peaceful.

Amazing perfect rustic cottage right on water with dock and canoe. Come here to escape. Be ready for no fridge and little electricity. Saw loons every day and heard them every night. Great fishing!

The cabin is very comfortable. We go for the excellent canoe. Upstream there is a large marshy area excellent for viewing wildlife and marsh flora

The cabin was beautiful- simple, historical, and RIGHT ON THE WATER! The bed was comfortable and we loved the dock for swimming, reading, canoeing, and having our meals. Our screen porch was missing screens in the eaves (which was above eye level) - we wondered why millions of mosquitoes were getting in- so hopefully that will be fixed soon. It was such a sweet place.

This was my second visit of what I hope are many more to come. My first was mostly spent quietly on the property (campfire, canoeing, reading on the porch). This time I had more planned activities in the area. These cabins are the perfect choice either way. Read the helpful guidance on their website for what to bring and what to expect and you will have a terrific stay in a beautiful cabin on the water!

Wonderful off grid cabin! I wish I could live here, the views off the very much appreciated screened in deck were stunning and it was an incredibly peaceful stay. Walk to the cabin was beautiful but a bit long if you bring a lot of stuff and have to do multiple trips, so pack strategically. We’ll definitely be back soon! :)

Can't wait to go back. If you know what to expect you will not be disappointed. There is definitely a few holes that could be patched up, but as someone with high standards, the place felt pretty clean. The setting is incredible, the beds are not uncomfortable, the windows work great, the composting toilet doesn't smell, the dock is a treasure, the swimming was superb, a comfortable stay for 4 people. Love that this place exists and is affordable for us. Thank you so much!

This was a wonderful little camp which was the perfect way for us to get away, unplug, and relax for a weekend. The provided cart they give in order to bring stuff down from the parking area was really helpful, and the instructions for everything was simple and straightforward. When we had a question, we were able to contact the caretaker, who was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The screened in porch and hammocks were our favorite part and we spent much of the weekend lounging there. The beds upstairs were comfortable. The canoe was a fun way to get out on the water and enjoy the area.
The cabin lacks any frills, but it's good, clean, and comfortable. The area is quiet and beautiful, and if you prepare to bring everything you might need (cooler, camp shower, etc.) you should have a wonderful time like we did.

We loved our stay at cabin 2. This off-the-grid cabin on Cobbossee Stream was exactly what we were looking for. The screened in porch overlooking the water perfect for our meals and morning coffee. Our 7yo loved her bedroom, the dock, and getting out in the canoe. The cabin was very clean and well furnished. We can't wait to come back.

Lovely cabin on the banks of a beautiful stream! We arrived after dark due to a delayed flight + spending a bit too much time in MA but easily navigated to the cabin down the short trail. The carts were helpful and it's mostly downhill on the way in. Our morning view was absolutely gorgeous of the Fall foliage lined stream. It was a bit windy to canoe so we look forward to returning for that in the Summer months. Our kids had a blast building fairy gardens outside, exploring the gorgeous wooded hillside, laying on the dock to watch the birds, and cozying up by the fire for storytime.
This is definitely close to camping so come prepared with plenty of blankets in the Fall/Winter months. The fireplace does help warm the cabin but the upstairs (location of both bedrooms) can still be quite chilly without several layers. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking basic meals. Lack of shower was expected but would have been nice to have a designated, enclosed area to wash off. We didn't see a place to hang the shower bag.
If you're looking to explore, we enjoyed the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in nearby Boothbay and Five Fields Farm in Bridgton for apple picking.

Great location right on the water. The cabin is nice, cozy and clean. Follow the instruction for the bathroom and you will be golden. The fire pit area needs some improvement.

I loved my time at Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary! So peaceful and quiet. Everything was as described or even better. The cabin is darling and comfortable and the woods are lovely.
The fire-pit among the trees, overlooking the water, was my favorite place to hang out. Also really enjoyed the provided canoe, and hanging out on the small dock. I recommend bringing a camp chair for this purpose. The screen porch was a wonderful place to have my morning cup of tea with a good book.
This place has all the amenities I would want for a lovely get-away and none of those I don't (tv, wifi, electrical hum). Even the 10 yr old seemed perfectly content without his screen!
Be prepared: there is definitely a bit of a walk from the parking area to the cabin. The provided cart will help you get all your gear down the hill and ... back up again (phew!) at the end of your stay. There are accommodations for anyone who needs to drive closer, just ask.
A great place to get away from it all, without being too far from it all if you find you need or want anything!

Wow, what a great find! The screened in porch was amazing, we had the perfect amount of space for 3 people. We loved the peace and serenity of the cabin. We opted to bring our kayaks and we’re able to drop them off via the access road. The amount of wildlife we saw was fantastic, so many large birds. Eagles, loons, osprey, great blue herons, and great egrets to name a few highlights! Perfect spot to swim, float and kayak throughout the stay. The fire pit area is a bit tough to put a camp chair close to the pit due to slope of hill. However, there are some nice and sturdy log seats that were a great back-up. Absolutely would love to stay here again.

What a peaceful perfect place. We were so impressed by the "stream" it was like a lake. The water was perfect for swimming and the canoe was an awesome bonus to the cabin. The bed was more comfortable than hotels I've paid 3x as much for! Great location with Portland a little less than a hour away so you can do all the Maine things like the headlight and of course lobster.

Overall it was a pretty good experience. The location is beautiful and the rustic feel of the cabin is very cozy. The canoe was a night feature and I’d say the porch is the best part. It was very quiet and we didn’t see our cabin mates at all during our stay which is great privacy wise. The lake was beautiful and fishing is pretty good. Lots of sunfish, bass, and catfish if you like night fishing. The stove was convenient, and it was nice having cookware and utensils. I will say though that there’s some cons to staying here. Unfortunately there’s no outlets upstairs and if you’re going to book in the summer I would highly recommend a fan because it was very hot and humid upstairs. We also avoided keeping and windows and doors open because of all the bugs! Lots of carpenter ants, termites, spiders, and flys, especially in the bathroom. The fire pit was nice but the slope made it very hard to enjoy, you cannot put a pot up chair anywhere other than facing the water. The walk from the small lot was not bad at all but unfortunately a tree fell on the trail which made moving the luggage cart very difficult, also moving the big cart down the hill to the cabin is very difficult if it’s a full load.

This is amazing property. we heard and saw a loon! The cabin is very cute, with working windows and screens (handy for the bugs). Swimming and canoeing are excellent. There was a little bit of construction noise across the river. The forrest is more beautiful than the pictures.

This was our 3rd year renting a cabin here, 1st time renting cabin 2. The front porch is the best feature. Only wish the trees didn’t block the views. Stove could have been cleaner , I cleaned the knobs and top. Wish it had a dock. Had a good stay!

Beautiful little camp. Nice swimming. Got to canoe to the bridge and jumped off of it! Great place to unwind but also got to go to the A1 diner for dinner and get my chocolate cream pie!

Absolutely gorgeous. It's a rustic cabin, located just a few feet from the water (gotta love historic buildings). The woods were filled with mushrooms galore. The water was great for swimming. We canoed up the creek and found loads of gorgeous marshy gardens, FILLED with wildflowers and birds and dragonflies. Already planning my next trip! This will be a place I return to as often as I can.
