We had a great time on Claudia’s land. Felt very private and like our own lake oasis. Running water, toilet, grills, fire pit, and a refreshing swim, everything we needed for a luxury feel at the end of a week long road trip. Will absolutely stay again and highly recommended!

We were a large group (10people) and this site worked really well for us! There’s an area to hang out up top with a fire pit and benches and plenty of space. Down the hill is the lake side fire pit which would have been awesome to sit at but the group was too big. I would definitely come back again- the lake was serene and quiet and paddling around the lake was so surreal. Claudia and Tom were awesome hosts- super accommodating. Thank you so much for sharing!!

This is my second stay of the summer & it was even better than the first! Perfectly private and quiet place for a couple days of rest and relaxation. Claudia is very communicative and the perfect host!

This is a beautiful spot on Gardiner Lake, great for swimming, boating, and fishing. We parked our camper van here over LDW and it was the perfect base camp to explore the Machias area. Water, campfire wood, and a port-a-potty made staying here a breeze. Next time we’ll bring a tent to stay close to the water!

The lake site is beautiful--big slabs of rock. Kayaks worked well. We enjoyed the walk for lake back up to the camping/service area. The water availability was great. We left the area "better than when we arrived by throwing away old rope scraps and fishing line and washing the well used plastic table cloth. Morning down by the lake in the sun were absolutely marvelous.

This was a charming and wonderful camp site. Tidy, well organized and very private. The proximity to the water was amazing as were the views. Communication with the owners was easy and prompt. All around an outstanding visit.

We had an excellent time. The tent sites on the water were awesome. The rental kayaks were very good for fishing. We fished every day and caught a lot. Even caught fish just out from our tents. I would recommend this site and we will be going back.

Such a spectacular camp space. This was my first experience with Hipcamp with my spouse, 3 teens and dog. We love to camp, but have been so disappointed the past couple of years that all the state parks are booked up. This experience far exceeded my expectations.
Claudia was an incredible host. We borrowed their 2 kayaks to paddle on the lake, firewood and 2 dozen fresh chicken eggs. The lake spot was so gorgeous that we used our hammock tents to fall sleep to the sound of the waves and loons. There were no bugs most of the time, even at night. They were easily mitigated with a lovely campfire. Claudia also provided so many extra amenities at the top of the camp - wash basin for dishes, candles, water containers, etc. I loved the solar lights along the path to the campsite. I did appreciate having my three teens carry our gear up the path to the kitchen and porta-potty area 🙂.
From Claudia’s camp, it’s a 30 min drive to Cutler Public lands trails. All along the route are incredible views of the coastline and osprey nests. We loved Riverside Drive On our way out we visited Jasper Beach (24 mins away from camp).

I had a fantastic stay here!! The entire site spacious and secluded. The lake was stunning, and I enjoyed paddle boarding swimming throughout the stay. Claudia was a fantastic host - very friendly & communicative. Highly recommend & hope to enjoy this space again soon!

We enjoyed our stay and wish we had booked an extra day! We had been planning a hiking/camping trip on the Cutler Coast for a while and wanted somewhere nearby to stay so we wouldn’t have a 3+ hour drive before and after the hike. After arriving at Claudia’s property, we wished we had allotted more time at the lake! Although we didn’t give ourselves enough time to enjoy some optional amenities such as the kayaks, we enjoyed two evenings at the site and loved relaxing by the fire right next to the lake. It was peaceful hearing the lakeshore and loons from the tent. We were also pleasantly surprised by the lack of bugs…we were SWARMED on the Cutler Coast, but didn’t even need to wear bug spray at the campsite!
We would certainly stay at this Hipcamp if we are in the area again and would be sure to set aside a day to enjoy the lake.

An absolutely incredible stay at Gardner Lake. Claudia was so kind and responsive and the property was truly breathtaking. I had a smaller tent so I was able to set it up down near the lake which was a short walk downhill from the car. I had a WONDERFUL swim in the lake which was a perfect temperature and ate my dinner on the rocks with a beautiful view. I fell asleep listening to the calm waves of the lake and a loon calling. It was FANTASTIC. I couldn’t recommend this location enough. Thank you, Claudia!!!

This is a great lakeside spot with lots of amenities to make camping simple: water, grills and a range, a porta potty, and even electricity. The tent area near the lake only works for small tents, so we tented at the top of the hill, which is closer to the cooking and eating necessities. The area down by the lake is gorgeous. A stiff breeze kept us from swimming or using the kayak we rented, but it kept us nearly bug-free! The provided seating and fire pit near the lake was a nice bonus. The hike up High Head behind the property is amazing and not difficult- it’s a must do. There’s so much beauty in this area, it was nice being in a location that was so close to it all, yet remote enough to be quiet.

We had an excellent time! The views are amazing. Clean, accessible camping area. Toilet was very clean! We really enjoyed our kayak rental, quiet r&r + excellent finishing right off the rocks. The water was refreshing and clear. Claudia is an excellent host, so responsive and accommodating. We will be back!

We had an awesome time camping here with our 2 dogs while we were hiking along the Cutler coast nearby. Definitely a bang for your buck to have such a private spot with that much space. Host was incredibly responsive as well! All around awesome time and would love to be back.

We really loved the location, it was peaceful and secluded. There is a house on one side but the other side is just woods and it was very quiet. There are basically two sites to choose from, the top site is big and flat and has the picnic table, grill, electrical hookup and water. The lower site is down by the water and has a swing and a fire pit, the one spot down at the lower site that is suitable for a tent is sloped but mossy and soft. You can’t really have anything bigger than a 9x7 tent in the lower spot but the upper site has space for a much bigger tent. The lower site is beautiful and covered in moss and it’s not far to walk but it is quite steep. All in all we had a good night.

Amazing View! Quiet, Private, and Beautiful Site. The porta potty was brand new even! No bugs even though it was waterfront. There was a bit of metal/glass debris that must’ve washed up but otherwise the site was soft and plush moss under your feet! It was amazing being able to step out on the rocks and enjoy sunrise/sunset. Definitely will be back!

We had a great time camping at Claudia's. We decided to put our tent at the upper level where the table and cooking area are. Our tent was too big to fit down by the water. The view of the lake was beautiful. Our children spent most of the time swimming and fishing. We drove to Cutler and Lubec and did some hiking. The hikes were stunning. We really appreciated having access to clean water at the site. Our experience was great and we hope to come back again in the future.
