This camp spot was exactly as advertised! Very private and quiet, I was able to find where to park by following the directions given. A great place to stop overnight in the area.

I can send better images for locating the entrance - it was difficult and I can't imagine trying to find the site in the dark. Branches on paint both sides of car - cutting back would be helpful. I did not see a tent pad at site - that would limit impact of various guests each choosing a place to pitch. Seat on bucket broken in half and useless. Host admitted he did not know water level in jug - so, not touched since no idea how or when treated.
On the bright side, it was a very quiet and natural site. No street noise. Owls and song birds. Some dogs a few times first not but not second.

Pros: It was a quiet area and we didn't hear any cars. The woods was private and the trees were pretty. There was a wheelbarrow to haul your stuff in. There is a fire pit.
Cons: We could hear dogs barking off and on throughout the night, so I'd recommend bringing earplugs. There is nothing marking the entrance or parking and it can be difficult to find. Our GPS said it was on the other side of the road but it's a small grassy driveway and you park there and walk in. There are some tall grasses to walk through. The tent site is just big enough for a 2 person tent. There's no picnic table or place to cook or hang out but it was fine for sleeping.

The pictures on Hipcamp do not have anything to do with the location, except the last two. The location was impossible to find. We were accosted by locals treating us like criminals when we were trying to find it. It was a trash- riddled piece of land that felt unsafe. We left immediately. I absolutely do not recommend staying here.

We had a great time camping at Primal Silence! A beautifully secluded and natural campsite. Our 6-man tent was a little big for the tent pad, but we made it work. Perfect spot for enjoying the beauty of this part of Maine!

Thanks to Paul for a great stay. The campsite was easy to find even though we arrived late. We enjoyed being out in the quiet, serene Maine woods and it was a great jumping off point for our trip into Canada.

Very private, wooded site. Paul was very responsive with directions and we found it easily. Path was well marked and tent site level and clear. Photo is a bit deceiving, since site is deep in the woods. Does require a walk along a path to the site.

It was very quiet - as advertised and so a great place to sleep. However, not so great if you want to spend time at the site. There was no water - Paul said the spring was dry and told us of another spring. Unfortunately, that was 7 miles away inconvenient. The site was small and our large tent just fit. There was no convenient place to cook or set up a tarp to just relax at the site.
Since our plan was to hike and explore the area, we took off in the morning and found one of many public areas to have breakfast, and returned after dinner when ready to sleep again so it worked out OK.
The bucket toilet system would have been OK - but the bucket had not been emptied. Paul was very apologetic and offered a partial refund.
Parking area very small - even for our compact car. We had to park carefully to open doors without hitting / standing in brush. Parts of the trail to the site were overgrown. With tick warning signs at most trail heads, keeping the brush cleared at the parking area and along the trail would improve the experience considerably.

Space is tucked into the woods just a frew hundred feet from the road. Beautiful fern forest and sense of seclusion.. there were a few cars that you could hear but very rare. My pup loved exploring the woods and you are within 20 mins driving of some great nature preserves. 10/10

Primal Silence campsite was the perfect spot for us. The walk to the campsite was lined with ferns and mushrooms, and the evening bird songs welcomed us to our sleep spot for the night. It was very private and serine. Very close to the Cutler Bold Coast hiking trails a convenient place to camp.

This site is super private and a wonderful place to bring your dogs off leash SAFELY! The host was helpful with directions and communication. I’ll definitely be using this host again!

Paul was a gracious and knowledgeable host, and his land was stunning. Untouched, serene and secluded. Only a fifteen minute drive to "downtown " Lubec! If you can make it this far up the coast, Paul's land is definitely a worthwhile spot to stay at.
