Was a nice quiet spot, not sure where the toilet was, it wasnt marked as far as I know. Besides that it was a good stay.

Quite spot with a nice fire pit. We needed a last minute spot and this worked out great, booked at 10pm and was exactly what we needed.

Great spot! It’s no frills but is nice and flat and has a great fire pit. At night the skies are nice and dark and it’s still within 10-15 minutes of Sunday River and 20-25 to Gorham, NH. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice simple place to camp near the White Mountains. It has a big fire ring and flat ground. Easy to find directions, just off a main road

Solid spot for a last minute camping trip. We camped there in the rain this time and the site was nice and level, so no flood issues with the tent. The fire pit is great and the camping table is really handy. No toilets but firewood is always plentiful for $5 a bundle

I really enjoyed this site. I use a small T@G trailer and it was very easy to maneuver it once in the main area. I love the proximity to Long Mountain trail too. I walked from the site to the trailhead. Traffic on Vernon is VERY fast moving - but plenty of shoulder. Anyway - the site met my needs and I will likely go back again to hit other nearby trails.

Nice small piece of land to drive up and spend the night in. Lots of campfire and kindling available for sale. The road is visible from the campsite but the wood chip mounds help keep the noise down and block help block the street from view.
Super close to Long Mountain Trail which is an excellent day hike.

Great spot, easy to find and enter with any vehicle. Very light traffic that cannot be seen only heard a little with a great fire pit and picnic table. Nice little wood shed for purchase and just enough service for texts. For the price this is truly how I envision every Hipcamp should be!

Loved our lil getaway here. Yes, it's close to a road as other reviews mention, but the berm that's been built is really effective, and there's hardly any traffic at night anyway. The listing says there is a pit toilet and there isn't, and says there isn't a table but there is a nice picnic table by the fire pit. We live not far away so brought a load of our own firewood but there is a stand at the campsite entrance for purchasing more and it was nicely aged. Appreciated that the site is spacious, there's good hammock trees, tent site is wonderfully level, and we had a good rain on our second night and the whole site drained really well. Favorite feature was being able to just walk up the road to reach the Long Mountain trailhead. Definitely recommend!

This site was amazing for the price. It was incrediblely private but also still easy to find. It was well maintained and we where left wood and surprised by the available picnic table. The ground is covered in wild strawberries that if they fruit must be amazing in the spring. The area is a birdwatchers heaven I must have heard at least 12 different bird calls while on site. It is close to the road and you can hear every car that drives by ( some more obnoxious than others) but this dies down by 10 pm and doesn't start up again until 9 am. I would bring a toilet setup as the pit may not be for everyone and is hard to find. I never saw the host but I didn't need to the site was so great and easy not seeing the host just made it feel more private.
On top of the site being great the nearby attractions made the trip itself all the better. So many hiking trails and shops / attractions in bethel give this site even more allure. Seriously you can go hold a piece of the moon less then 20 mins away!
I would stay here again.

Great spot for night before a big hike! Proximity to road not a problem (maybe 5 cars drove by all night). Glad to read you are planning a little outhouse…that will be a very nice update, but we knew what we were getting into. Really nice firepit area and picnic table. Awesome spot.

No nonsense: pull up, set up camp, relax and enjoy. Close to tons of local attractions and sat nicely between Bethel and Norway which both have great shops. Perfect for if you want your own private space versus a campground. Only note is we did not realize it is on someone’s land with a garage ~ 150 yards behind the spot, but there were enough trees between the spot and structure where it still felt private.

We had a wonderful time at Chipmunk’s Challenge! The fire pit is great, very flat area for tents. Although we never heard from our host, it wasn’t necessary because the site was so clearly marked and we had everything we needed. Not sure why people have mentioned noises from the road- it’s a very untraveled road you are camped on and we had maybe 3 cars pass us the entire time and they went unnoticed.

We stopped there for a night on our way to Portland. The site was well kept, there was wood for the fire. It’s private and spacious. Overall would recommend. Good value for the price we paid.

Spot was nice , clear, open and private. Directions were good and the location was great for me. You can hear cars driving by but not many & I don't know what a pit toilet is and I didn't find it (unless it was under the large rock and plywood).

Great spot. Plenty of space, nice sunset through the trees. It is a little close to the road but wasn’t a problem for me. Heard lots of wildlife.
