First Hipcamper Club

Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.

Hammock tent all set up, or bring your own. Located on the Mattawamkeag River, near the mouth of the lake, in pristine wilderness within a 6,000-acre conservation easement. Canoes and kayaks are available for campers free of charge. You can boat right onto the lake, enjoy excellent fishing, or try your luck in this fly-fishing paradise. There’s also a nice swimming hole on the river and miles of biking along the logging roads. Please note: This camp is a work in progress. I am currently finishing construction on a second cabin, though the campsites are located in secluded areas.
