Applecroft is home to our family, our wood fired catering company and our farm. It's 100 acres of magic forests, rolling fields and a quiet lake. Learn more about this land: Beautiful wide open fields surrounded by forest and backed by a picturesque huge pond. Close to the ocean and all the coastal goodness that Maine offers. Close in proximity to lobster pounds, lighthouses, rocky coast and perfect lakes to swim in. Our camping spaces are far enough into the fields and woods to offer privacy and seclusion, and close enough to Hwy 1 to get you anywhere you need to be. While you are here feel free to enjoy the surrounding forests, trails and our nearby pond.

Perfect van camping spot! It's right off route 1 but set back from the road with only views of trees and fields. No running water, power or restrooms but is very private and secluded. Has a firepit and comes with a few logs to have a fire. You will have 5+ acres to yourself with no houses or neighbors. Private driveway into the site is through a field so go slow. Very quiet lake on the back of the property is about a 10 minute walk. You are welcome to go swimming but cannot camp there.

Cabin in the woods

This cabin has been a dream of our for years and we are so excited to finally see it come to life. Simple and clean, our modern structure is just a small porch and single open room with a huge glass sliding door. Inside is a brand new queen size bed with linen sheets, down pillows and a thick down comforter. The cabin has a large fire pit with chairs and a table and a grill for you to cook over the fire. There is an outhouse about 75 feet from the site. This is a walk in site so you must carry in what you need including water. There is no running water or power source. A 5 minute walk through the woods will bring you to a dead quiet huge pond with no motorized boats and almost no access. It's perfect for canoeing, bird watching and swimming.

Great car camping site and awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, Shane made sure I had fire wood and recommended that I take a short walk down to the pond in the morning to catch the sunrise and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous! I was only there for one night for a quick solo camping trip to go visit the Dambo trolls in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens also highly recommended going there during your stay!

This was a lovely spot tucked back from the road with a beautiful walk to the pond nearby. Heard lots of coyotes and owls, which was awesome. Directions to the site were clear and easy to navigate. Will hopefully come back someday!

Wonderful site! Total privacy with plenty of room for dogs to run around, quick walk to the water, had a great time all around. Hosts were super prompt when communicating.

Peaceful place for an overnight or 2. We had a great night sleep here. Need to be comfortable with ticks outside.

The campsite was great! It was fairly secluded and easy to get to and Shane had a great set up with trash and bathroom necessities. We loved setting up a fire and seeing the foliage. Would highly recommend!

The most ideal spot. An incredible spot. Make sure to spend some daylight hours there because it’s a praivate and relaxing spot. Good firewood too.

Our night here felt like true camping and was just what we needed. The site was very private and had plenty of room for our kids and dog to run around. The site was very clean and the firepit was perfect for making ourselves some dinner. The host even left us some dry firewood to get us started and there was more in the tree line to keep it going.

Shane’s property is beautiful! There’s tons of space - great for tents and star gazing! And close to lots of great things in the area. On top of the spot being lovely, Shane was a great communicator and super helpful. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

What a great site, and the host was fantastic. Very communicative and went above and beyond with information and answering questions. Absolutely beautiful place, cool hike to the pond, and pretty secluded. Property was well maintained, easy to find, and there was proper garbage bins. We will be back, lovely time!

Easy to find, plenty of space, Shane gave us lots of good tips about where to visit (don't miss a swim in Gross/Peters Pond!) and eat (the pie at Moody's is so good!) and he had firewood for us when we ran out! Little nearby lighting meant the stars were amazing!

This farm stay was exactly what we were looking for in our vans: affordable, convenient (right off Rt 1) and quiet. Lots of open space to look at the stars by the campfire....if you're considering parking your van/RV at a crowded "campground" - consider this instead!

Tent Camping at Applecroft Farm
The property is beautiful. The milkweed and monarchs were abundant which was a pleasant surprise. Everything on the site itself was as described, even the ticks. This year seems to be a bad year for them so check yourself and your dogs often. I would use a sticky lint roller on us all before settling in for the night which helped some. Luckily bug spray and anything else you need can be found along Route 1. Shane was a responsive host when we needed anything and offered lots of great suggestions to get us started exploring the area.

Great place to camp in a lovely town close to many fantastic adventure spots. Had an amazing time and took full advantage of the great recommendations that Shane gave. Very responsive and accommodating. Perfect location to get a sense of what Maine has to offer, thanks again!

Solid base for adventuring

Camping was just what was promised, a pleasant site in a good location for paddling adventures. Shane gave some great recommendations and was very responsive. You're not far off route 1 so there is some road noise, but it's not bad. Also, he was not exaggerating about the ticks, it is a really bad year for them and you're in a field so you (or your dog) will absolutely get some.
