The experience was as expected from the site, though it was storming as we set up and couldn't get to the field that we paid for on account of the ground being muddy. We just set up tent near the car pull off. Simple, primitive camping. There was a bin for fires we couldn't use because of rain, but it was convenient and close for Festival International.

This property is the perfect place for those who want a true camping experience without unnecessary frills. There’s woods, a short path to hike down, an open clearing, plenty of firewood, and no strictly designated sites. Just find a place on the property you like, and set up your campsite.
No running water, but there is a porta potty. I brought one of the shower bags that you place up high and was able to just put it on top of my truck for a quick shower in the morning.
Hostess met me at the gate when I arrived, gave me a quick tour, and even brought a 5 gallon bucket of water for my shower bag since there’s no running water at this location. Super friendly, very helpful, and I will likely stay here again in the future.

Easily located, very quite and a large grass Avenue type area with trees and plants either side. Good communication from host.

We loved our stay at Susan’s. The family welcomed us and showed us to a good spot ( because there was some puddles from an unusual amount of rain. ) She offered to bring us a fire pit! It was a peaceful night… just what we needed!

I was passing thru on my way West in February '25, and arrived as the sun was setting. The South had just had lots of snow and rain, but Susan directed me to a dry spot where I could camp for the night. It was quiet, pleasant, and safe. Would definitely return!

I wasn't able to make it to Susan's camping spot because of some last minute logistical challenges. I let Susan know and she offered to honor my reservation for the next day. I still couldn't make it, so she refunded me without me asking for it.
The circumstances that led to my missed booking were stressful and Susan's professionalism and customer experience struck a cord with me. I will certainly be back to camp at Susan's.

I had a wonderful experience camping on Susan's campground. This is the first time that I've used hipcamp while traveling solo; I picked her campsite because I saw that another woman had said that she felt safe there. The campsite is lovely and well-maintained. It has varying degrees of privacy depending on what portion you pick. My chosen spot felt private without being isolated. She and her husband checked in on me -- not in a creepy or intrusive way, but knowing that I was a woman camping alone. And they're both so nice! I can't recommend this campsite enough, and I would absolutely camp there again.

Susan has a great little get away, she was super accommodating and made sure we were aware of where we were heading. It was super easy to get to and great spot got the night we were there. Cannot thank Susan enough!

The hosts were warm and friendly and onsite waiting for us with fresh firewood and other materials when we arrived. They made us feel very welcome and appreciated. The wood and help with the fire was a nice bonus. The tent site was well situated with a bit of privacy and within a short walk to the chemical toilet.

Super wonderful welcome - built us a lovely fire and supplied two chairs! It’s a nice forest off the side of a wooded lane - it had rained this week, so it was wet but amazingly not a mosquito in the car while we slept. Yes their neighbors have many dogs (small ones) that barked a bit in the night. If you camp deeper in the woods near the outdoor toilet, I’m sure it’s quieter. Really nice for a night along the road! Super location near Layfayette and Breaux Bridge both adorable!!

I enjoyed my stay here. It’s land off a small road behind the owners house. There’s an open area next to a small wooded area. The owners are in the process of adding camping accessories to the site. There’s a couple fire pits, some chairs and a little hut with a toilet. There’s a nice walking path behind and around the camping area. You can see the neighbor’s house and they have quite a few dogs but they didn’t bark much.. it was quiet at night and I slept well. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They met me on arrival and immediately set up a fire for me. They made sure I had everything I needed and response was very quick when contacting them.
I would definitely stay again if in the area.

The area was pretty peaceful. There were dogs and a salt mine nearby but they weren’t an issue. The hosts were incredibly polite and made sure everything was ready for my stay.
