Windy Goat Acres

We had an amazing time at Windy goat acres. Everything was exactly how the listing described it. It was myself my husband and 212-year-old girls. The girls had a great time exploring and having an adventure. The only downside was the heat, but Jess and her husband did everything they could too help with that. We had great AC in the llama llama chalet. And we had the unexpected bonus of there being a Mermaid hosted event that weekend, so the girls got a chance to wear mermaid tails and swim with some real mermaids. Highly recommend the waffle breakfast. It comes delivered with more toppings than I could keep track of. We also did the goat meet and greet and the piggy Popsicles. Even without adding any extra as it would be a great weekend.

Our family had a magical time at the farm! We stayed the whole weekend and never had a dull moment - from exploring the property to bonding with the animals to a surprise mermaid party, we had a great time! We were relaxed from the moment we arrived and were taken care of well by Jess and Jim. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Hobbit House 🍄🐐✨️

The hobbit house is a great option for those looking to escape to a magical retreat. The trees around the hobbit house provide a lot of privacy. We could hear people at the nearby cabin, but they couldn't see us nor could we see them. There is a bit of a steep walk from the parking area to the hobbit house, so I recommend you bring a wagon to help bring your items up the path with greater ease. At night, the site was lit up with fireflies and was completely silent. I highly recommend the Hobbit House. I hope to return soon!

The Hobbit House was so cozy and comfortable. We had such a good time wandering around the property, visiting the animals, and finding all the fun, magical places tucked away at Windy Goat Acres. Our dogs loved it too. We definitely look forward to our next stay there.

We loved our stay at Windy Goat Acres! We had a beautiful view of the land and farm animals and it was everything we imagined it to be! We loved walking around the trails and socializing with the goats. We added on the waffle kit which was amazing and delicious! Overall, we loved our stay and want to visit again!

Tiny Goat Cabin

Only stayed for the night as I was passing through on a road trip but wished I could’ve stayed longer! The property was amazing and the tiny cabin was much needed after a full days drive.

Tiny Retreat Cabin on the Goat Farm

Jessica & Jim were very responsive to questions or if anything was needed. Very knowledgeable and caring of their animals. I was so excited to discover there was water on site. The chalet was lovely & had a beautiful view of the barnyard area.

every detail was clearly thought through with intentionality, from each little nook of the grounds that you can explore to discover a delightful surprise, to the add-on experiences (get the waffle bar and thank me later). the animals seem very happy.

Windy Goat Acres is the perfect place for a getaway if you are looking for tranquility, cute animals and fun cabins! The owners are friendly, the property is well maintained and you get wake up in the morning and pet goats.. Windy Goat Acres exceeded my expectations- I recommend it!

Magical Hobbit Home 🍄🫈🍀

Tough to know where to begin. This place is magical. We stayed in late June with our two kiddos and would 11 out of 10 times recommend! Don't skip the waffle breakfast or feeding popsicles to pigs add ons. My kids are talking about those things more than anything else on this 3-week long road trip. The hobbit house was extraordinary. Everything you need to be comfy and cozy in a dry cabin. There's a water pump outside and a super clean portable toilet a 1 min walk away so it's worth the extra steps to get to sleep in a place this special. The folks who run this farm were so kind, too! We would recommend a stay here to anyone looking to unplug, unwind, and be dazzled by the views and the quiet and the coolest one room cabin ever! I hope we'll find our way back here some other time! PS - We also did the Sasquatch encounter and wow did I get my husband good! Entertainment of the highest order and a memory for a lifetime!

Hidden gem ! Would highly recommend staying here. We stayed in one of the yurts and it was beautifully done. The animals on site are awesome to observe and spend time with. Owners are very friendly and personable.

Queen Armadillo's Yurt

We took our grandkids here a had the best time. We asked the kids what was the best part and they said all of it!! Jess and Jim were the nicest people and you can tell how much they love their animals. The kids had so much fun feeding the goats and especially feeding the pigs their piggy pops! The waffle bar and cocoa bars were so yummy, movie night was a blast. We all thought it was so cool to sleep in a yurt. It was such a peaceful, relaxing vacation and we’ll definitely tell everyone about it and hopefully be back again!!

The chalet was a beautiful location overlooking the animals with an easy to maneuver trail system. It was also a nice distance from other rentable places so you did feel you had space. Hosts were very kind and we enjoyed the extras with the animals. I did wish there was at least blinds/curtains for the bedroom for some privacy while changing, especially given that this is a frequently traveled area of the property.

If Whimsy Was a Place in Iowa

Holy buckets! This place is corner after corner after delights revealed! Everything place you look there’s another magical thing to see! Triplet baby goats, kittens leaping in tall grass, a sweet hobbit house appearing on the trail, a short walk to your pals’ yurt and a sweet fairy garden that leads to a stage-in-field where even our teenagers were transformed back into less angsty versions of themselves! Essentially I (a known non-camper) was thrilled to stay in the sweetest a-frame cabin with a cool blast of air conditioning, a couch and a wall of books! I was charmed absolutely! And am planning a return trip before summer’s end.

Whimsy and Talkative Goats

Windy Goat is pure whisical joy. Wander around and pet the horses while they graze, say hi to Roscoe and Bentley while they snort for attention and be sure to enjoy happy quacks and bleats from the ducks and goats. We loved staying in the Hobbit Hole and enjoyed just basking in the sun for days.

This is an animal lovers dream! I brought my dog and it was a really special experience. After enjoying the animals, we hung out on the porch overlooking the farm and read for hours. It was so peaceful! One piece of advise if staying in the llama cottage… there are no window coverings so you may want to bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in to block out the sun. I knew this in advance so I was happy I packed mine!

Jessica was an excellent host; made sure the visit to the farm was an experience to be remembered. The Hobbit House was a throw back in time before there was running water, and indoor bathroom. The goat adventure was truly magical, one that will be remembered for a long time.

My husband and I had the most wonderful time bringing our little ones (ages 4 years and 10 months) on a weekend trip to Windy Goat Acres. We loved exploring the beautiful property and most of all interacting with the animals. Jessica was so accommodating during our stay, and was especially kind and patient with my daughter during the goat playtime and bunny sits. The yurt was perfect for the four of us and we enjoyed hanging out and watching movies on the DVD player in the evenings. The waffle bar was AMAZING and the perfect little treat before we left on Sunday. A trip the whole family is sure to remember for years to come!

My son enjoyed the experience, both the cabin and the farm, and that was my primary goal. That said, he slept in the loft. I slept on the pullout couch, although I use the term "slept" loosely because it was incredibly uncomfortable and there were deer mice living in the couch--at one point one literally ran over me. I'm pretty tolerant of nature and wildlife and get that mice are nearly unavoidably near fields...but my dog had never met such brazen mice and spent the rest of the early morning hours stalking mice around the cabin. We ended up packing up to leave at first light, sad to miss out on the waffles, but too exhausted and anxious about hantavirus to deal with it any longer.

I have stayed in several of the cabins/yurts and loved them all. This time I stayed in the yurt with the blue couches and it was delightful! The owners were amazing. They even helped pull my car out when I parked where I wasn’t supposed to.

Queen Armadillo's Yurt

Nice place, but seriously needs some updating and cleaning up of the grounds. The tree house and cute themed attractions are in need of cleanup. Also a few more outhouses and a clean-up of the little bathroom would be nice. The animals are fun and the property is beautiful. We stayed in Queen Armadillo's yurt and it was nice, but the bathroom and outhouse were too far away.
