The Fairground stands out as a unique destination, offering a sprawling 100 acres of diverse experiences and amenities. With 23 permanent structures and over 400 camp spaces equipped with water and electrical hookups, it provides a perfect blend of comfort and convenience for visitors. Established in 1868, the Fair Society made a significant investment in the community by acquiring the first 33 acres of the fairgrounds in 1880. This rich history adds to the charm of the site, making it a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Our board of directors, consisting of 15 elected members, ensures that each township in the county is represented, fostering a sense of community involvement. In addition to the board, more than 300 dedicated volunteers contribute their time to support the fair and various off-season events throughout the year. The Delaware County Fair is proud to be affiliated with the Association of Iowa Fairs and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, further enhancing its reputation as a premier destination for entertainment and community engagement.
