Private natural preserve campground. This land is hidden among the ridges of the Coeur d'Alene Mountains. Two creeks flow through the property—one year-round and the other seasonally for about three months. Nestled in a vibrant, moss-carpeted valley, Caribou Sprite Hollow - Forest Camp is a hidden sanctuary cradled by dramatic rock ridges. Camp near the confluence of two mountain creeks, where dappled sunlight and trickling waters create a truly enchanting getaway. This land is a very special place, hidden in plain sight. My family is doing its best to preserve its naturally overgrown character, and we hope everyone who visits will help us do the same. The property was once an old mining claim and is now private land. Please use caution while exploring.Nestled in a vibrant, moss-carpeted valley, Caribou Sprite Hollow - Forest Camp is a hidden sanctuary cradled by dramatic rock ridges. Camp near the confluence of two vibrant mountain creeks, where the dappled sunlight and trickling waters create a truly enchanted getaway. The driveway has two 10-by-20-foot parking spaces and a large center space. I recommend only 2 vehicles down here, but 3 will fit. It may be hard to turn around and drive up the gravel driveway. I turn around a 22' van in the large center space. I would back down if you have a 24' RV. 24' is the max length for vehicles in the driveway due to the angle of entry and the slope of the driveway. The main camping area is at the fire pit with the picnic table and creek. To get to it, you will need to walk 200ft on a path through the woods. After parking at the bottom of the drive, take a path east upstream along the creek that leads to a bridge. Across the bridge is the main tent space, picnic table, and campfire. There are 4 tent spaces near the fire pit. One 6' by 6', one 6' by 4', one 12' by 8' and another 6' by 4'. There are other tent spaces. At the moment, you need to bring your own toilet accommodations. The bag toilet, haul away your waste. If you wish to have more than four tents set up for those larger groups. There are other flat areas to put up a tent, but they may require some adventure to find. I know of one area, another 100' upstream from the picnic table on the same side of the stream as the picnic table. It is just before the stream banks, right. 2 more small tents or one large tent could fit here. For even larger groups: There may be other tenting spaces along the path to the firepit.. It may be hard to find 12 individual tent spaces but it may be possible. This is a new site. Please let me know how things work out for you. Additional parking is along the road in the turnout areas up the road from the driveway. There is no overnight vehicle camping on the forest service roadway. All overnight camping in vehicles will need to be in the driveway.

Caribou Sprite Hollow - Forest Camp

Magical, beautiful spot - lots of trees, shade, a creek. Easy to find and get down to tent site. Close to the lake. And close to Beauty Creek Campground if you need water. It was so peaceful and relaxing! Would not recommend trying to get a trailer turned around and backed into site. It’s a one lane road up to it. I’m local so I went up the night before and scoped it out and decided we could try our luck with our 24’ trailer pulled by our truck. There is a small pull off right before the site and we were able to turn ourselves around and then back down the road a bit and then into the site. There’s ample room for both, but you cannot maneuver down and to the left where it veers and flattens out. So we had it straight back in, which was enough room for the trailer to be flat, and called it good. We spent most of the time down by the tent site. It was amazing and Scott was such a friendly and communicative host!

Beautiful area but tons of bugs. We could barely pull our 4WD pickup out of the parking space with the loose gravel, would not recommend attempting with 2WD. Quite the trek with camping stuff to the fire pit area.

We had a 21' Class C RV and this site was great. Our dogs especially loved being off leash and I enjoyed soaking my feet in the creek while drinking my morning coffee. Highly recommend.

We loved camping on Scott’s land. So peaceful falling asleep and relaxing by the creek. The canopy provided so much shade and coolness from the hot sun. Very beautiful and quiet. Lots of firewood around and plenty of area to explore.

Its cute nice and secluded if you camp back in the woods, we had a read tent so camping in the parking spots, so only suggested would leave is maybe add dirt to the back park of the driveway so its smooth to set camp up! but totally would come back! super magical and beautiful at the camp site!

It’s a cool spot that is right on the creek and really well shaded. It’s an ideal spot for a hot summer camping trip.
