Tucked along the Kohala coast lies the beautifully secluded Starseed Ranch. Surrounded by green rolling hills, abundant gardens, and uniquely crafted architecture, you will be able to immerse in rejuvenation, healing, and learning while enjoying modern comforts. Our 26-acre estate is completely off-grid, run by hydroelectric and solar systems. We have several lodging options available, please see our other listings. The Coconut Hale is the most spacious of our cabins, with wrap-around garden view windows and customizable bed options for sleeping up to 4 guests. Designed in Balinese style with exposed timber framing, hala mat, and bamboo accents, the room includes a king bed (or 2 twin beds), pull-out couch, closet area, shelves, and a lanai with a private toilet and outdoor sink. The kitchen and dining area, outdoor seating, and fire pit are all nearby. Throughout the beautifully landscaped grounds, you will find Balinese-style buildings and covered walkways, and a diverse tropical orchard and farm. The center of the ranch features lodging, kitchen, dining, classroom/movement space, and a bathhouse. Starseed is a special and unique destination. The land here is filled with mana and natural beauty, providing the perfect setting for your next adventure.

The Jungalow is our most private cabin and is tucked away in the fruit orchard, surrounded with flowers and greenery. It is a short walk to the bathhouse. The cabin is sleek and simple with a wrap-around deck on three sides and roof overhang providing plenty of rain coverage. This is a perfect spot for enjoying nature and the surrounding orchards. Each room can be customized for 1 King Bed or 2 Twin Beds. The bathhouse is equipped with two restrooms, a hand washing sink and two outdoor showers with beautiful flagstone, sitting bench and bamboo privacy screen. The kitchen and dining area, outdoor seating and fire pit are all nearby.

Jungalow Cabin
Starseed Ranch was an awesome space to unplug. Our little Hale was very cute and adorable, with a nice covered porch, comfortable bed and little closet + drawers. The roof makes a lovely sound during a rain storm. We had the place to ourselves, which was lovely, but would love to see this place in full force. The outdoor kitchen and sitting areas were well maintained and ready to host a feast. Next time! Was great to see some regen ag up close. Loved our time here! Highly recommend!

Very peaceful and special place. We stayed in Balo Hale and it was comfortable and clean. Loved the shared outdoor kitchen and dining area, getting fresh fruit from the farm (only those on the ground of course) and chatting with some of the other guests. So glad we spent 3 days of our vacation here.

We loved our Hana hale and Starseed’s land. The place itself and nature there are very beautiful and worth exploring. The hale was clean and spacious with light and electricity. The kitchen is not far from the hale and fully equipped. We had perfect time in that place.

Not really an authentic experience
Coconut Hale
I don’t think Starseed ranch belongs on Hipcamp to be honest. After a week of staying on multiple farms of people’s private properties with authentic, untamed jungle and learning about how they work with nature in stead of plowing it all to the ground to rebuild some picture perfect place, this place left quite a bad taste in my mouth. Sure, it’s gorgeous here. The Balinese style hales and kitchen are straight from a magazine and the bed is huge and comfy. But coming here felt like going somewhere that tries too hard to replicate something that once was actually a beautiful real piece of nature. I might be wrong and maybe this place used to be acres full of just grass. But right now everything just feels fake and human-made. It is more like a resort here, only thing missing is the swimming pool and all-you-can eat buffet. If you want to plan a business retreat, this might be the place. I think you can even book it for weddings. I thought hipcamp was meant for people who want to experience some authentic nature, so this rubbed me the wrong way… Would do really well on Airbnb or Booking.
