We had a small campervan on Colin's property for the night and it was a great time! Colin was very helpful in directions and responsive for whatever we needed.

Host is friendly and helpful. Road to the property paved but bumpy. If you keep your speed pretty slow you’ll be ok. It is a drive up the slop.
On the farm property road it could potentially be challenging for inexperienced drivers. If you are from rural area - you will be fine.
We had rain pouring during our arrival, and that didn’t make it easier )))
There is no water, no restroom on the camping spot or near(artist we didn’t find it).
Basically it is serves well as overnight parking with no amenities.

This was a great spot to camp!
Easy to find with Colin’s directions. It was a very place to put down our tent and settle in for the two nights we spent there! We would absolutely back.

Our site was private, and the scenery was beautiful.
The sounds of birds and frogs was quite nice.
The area was quite steep to enter, not recommended for lower vehicles.

Collin was a very kind and generous host. The road going to camp site is difficult but managable, would recommend a 4WD. Very safe, beautiful and peaceful environment.

We booked here to be close to the manta rays night tour and the location was perfect. The host was great at giving directions and answering all our questions. It is a very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful place.

The host was extremely responsive, however for the money, there are better choices out there that have flush toilets and showers. The porta potty had not been serviced it a while.

We loved our stay here. The site was really flat, which is hard to find. The drive up was a little intimidating, but when we drove back down it was fine. Colin was nice, gave us great recommendations, and greeted us when we arrived. We enjoyed it a lot!

Place was as advertised, so make sure you bring all your basic items: water, food, etc. There was a washroom, but it needed some cleaning. Hosts were great and communicated well. Wouldn’t go back simply because the road in and out was too much of a trek coming and going each day.

It is a nice secluded orchard, with a constant concert of the critters around. I loved the cinnamon tree :) Not far from Kealakekua Bay, nice view of the ocean.

Collin is very responsive to phone calls, very helpful and accommodating. His wife is also a very nice woman who was very willing to give us advice on where to go and what to do on the Island. Great people!

Not a good place to camp for the price, we left without even staying the night, host would not refund. Very poor access road, poor host service, no facilities aside from a pora potty in a field nearby. Go somewhere else, there are lots of better choices for the price, the national park in volcano is $10-15/night and has flush toilets, drive in sites picnic tables, a dish washing area and potable water and is way better value.

Colin was super helpful with some last minute planning changes and provided great travel tips. Our camp spot had a magnificent sunset view over the ocean. We fell asleep to the sounds of frogs and woke to the sound of the birds. The stargazing was amazing.

We enjoyed our night camping at Ohia Hale! Colin’s directions to find the campsite were spot on and we didn’t have any trouble. He was also kind enough to supply firewood! Some (nice) wild pigs came through the campsite late at night and we got to hear them, so cute! Not to mention Colin’s sweet little dog, Speckles, who was very welcoming! :)
Would definitely recommend to other campers!

Our host was top notch, very responsive, helpful with suggestions. The site had a great feel to it. Being in a working orchard added to our experience on the island. Colin even gave us some recommendations a few days after our stay.

The solitude of the farm is unmatched, big sky to see all the stars. Cooler nights for those who like to sleep in lower temperatures. Had a great experience being hosted by Colin and his family.

Mixed feelings ~ the communication with Colin was indeed excessive (though I actually dealt with Susan when I arrived and she was great!). Outhouses need maintenance. Wild pigs and dogs barking at night (not bothering tents though). My next Hipcamp is the same price but with way more amenities, so I’m not sure this is worth it.

Beautiful spot! Susan and Colin made us feel very welcomed and we appreciated the spot to put our tent and camp for the night. Campers should be prepared for rain, as it can rain up at this elevation much more commonly than down by the beaches.

The ride up the road is super rough, and not simple to identify where you are going exactly. Once there, park your camper, or open your tent in a serene farm/orchard, So peaceful and exactly what we needed.

It was a fun adventure driving up to the property at night, and despite the challenges of navigating in the dark, we had no trouble finding our way, thanks to Colin’s solid directions and accommodating nature. A midnight arrival was unavoidable due to our tight schedule, but Colin made the process seamless and stress-free.
The property’s tranquil and private surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a restful night’s sleep, and we woke up feeling completely refreshed. In the morning, we were warmly greeted by Colin, his charming daughter, and their delightful dog, Speckles. It was an absolute joy to hear Colin share the fascinating history of the farm and to explore the incredible variety of fruit trees.
This was our very first Hipcamp experience, and it set the bar incredibly high. Everything about the stay was thoughtfully curated and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique and memorable adventure. A perfect A+ experience!

Colin was a very accommodating host, he was friendly and helpful and gave great suggestions for places to hike or beaches to visit. His dog speckles came and greeted me and Colin made sure I had what I needed and was very available if I had any questions. A very unique farm!
