Set up camp under a blanket of stars on a small farm complete with high speed wifi access, on-grid electricity, unlimited drinking water, a covered outdoor kitchen (equipped with a grill/burner, air fryer, pots, pans, utensils, cups and plates), tented picnic area, yoga mat for your practice, outdoor shower, and compost toliet. The ocean is just a few minutes down the road and a short drive to Pahoa or Hilo. Please bring your own tent and sleeping gear! Car camping is accepted too. Communal kitchen and picnic table for dining and working.  Additionally, you can order breakfast, lunch or dinner if you reach out in advance, just let us know your dietary needs or preferences and we’ll provide a farm to table meal just for you! Please Note: The area is not covered and it does rain. But there are plenty of trees to attach a tarp to in case you would like a tarp over your tent. In addition to the tent space, there is a cabin and a dome (based on availability) that can sleep up to two people incase you prefer to rent that option!  There is NO CLEANING FEE for campers which means this is a self-lead stay and we ask that you wipe down all surfaces and rinse any dishes prior to use. Due to outdoor elements and conditions we ask our community to help out whenever you see fit to keep costs down. Also if you want to get your hands in nature, just ask! Fridge/freezer is available upon request, high speed wifi, lamps, fan, drying rack for clothes, portable/offgrid washing mechanism for small items, and clothing rack located inside the dome. Enjoy a minimalists approach where we value quality over quantity while getting a taste of semi-offgrid living - yes, there's high speed wifi, on-grid electricity, solar lights for all walking paths, unlimited drinking water, a small fridge/freezer, portable laundry bucket, clothing rack, drying rack, electric fan, a hot propane outdoor shower with excellent water pressure (communal), outhouse with a compost toliet (communal), and a large outdoor kitchen with granite countertops. You'll fall asleep to the sound of coqui frogs (earplugs recommended), and wake up to flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and songbirds. There’s plenty of space to enjoy a morning yoga/meditation practice with yoga mats/cushions provided. Feel free to play music, fall asleep to the sound of the chimes and bathe in the dome vibes. The outdoor communal kitchen is complete with a propane grill and gas burner, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, air fryer, toaster, and a communal picnic area.  Please note that the outhouse hosts a dry composting toliet along with a hot propane outdoor shower (communal) and fresh running well water. Work Trade Opportunity

We have a work trade program for strong able-bodied individuals who have a passion + interest in assisting a small, organic homestead on the Big Island of Hawaii for a minimum of 2 weeks. Accepted participants will be offered a the cedar cabin on the property for $50/night plus 2 days of service hours (16hrs/week) - save $ and give back! If you’d like to camp in your tent, it’s only $10/night plus 16 hours of work trade each week. Inquire for more by sending us a message with your skillset/interest!  Your stay includes on-grid electricity, high speed WiFi access, communal outdoor kitchen (equipped with grill, toaster, air fryer, pots, pans, dishes, plates, cups, utensils), unlimited drinking water, a covered picnic area with a propane firepit and grill, yoga mats, and a communal outhouse with a compost toliet and outdoor shower. WEEKLY POTLUCK: Every Sunday at 5:30pm there's a community potluck to discuss what was accomplished earlier in the week and what we're focusing on for the rest of the week.  Preference is given to candidates with previous permaculture and/or farm experience.  We are looking for kind, compassionate, efficient, driven adventurers who wish to deepen their Hawaii experience with an authentic, homesteading community + service oriented stay.    Accepted candidates must provide a security deposit and signed agreement. No guests, parties, heavy alcohol or drug use, thank you! PS: We do supply garbage bins however we ask that you take your garbage + compost toliet bag out EVERY Saturday, thank you! PPS: Ducks, hens and a dog live on the farm. PPPS: $800.00 Cleaning Fee will be refunded when you check out as long as all living quarters are in good-condition. Absolutely amazing and out of the world experience with inspiring and beautiful human being - Justine. Loved the space, the food and got elevated vibrations in this beautiful piece of land. I definitely recommend staying here for a couple of night to feel the energy of this island, hear a personal story of following the dream and being true to oneself, connecting with nature and embracing the love of mother Gaia.

Our experience with Justine was great. She was a very kind and sweet host who provided clear instructions and helpful recommendations. Our experience with the campsite, however, wasn’t the best. Although the campsite itself was quite charming, it seemed like the common areas hadn’t been cleaned in a while. All of the kitchen appliances were exposed to the elements, and they looked weathered. We didn’t feel comfortable using them without giving them a deep clean first, and unfortunately, we didn’t have time for that. When we mentioned this to Justine, she was very understanding and kindly offered us hot water from her own kitchen, but we didn’t want to bother her and were short on time. The peat moss for covering our #2 waste was stored in a large garbage bin that wasn’t weatherproof. Because it rained overnight, the moss became soaking wet and unusable. There also wasn’t much left in the bin—only about halfway full—so it was hard to reach and scoop out. We camped in tents on a small hill. Since the property is located in a tropical forest, be prepared for large bugs. They’re definitely around, and of course, that’s not something the host can control. We truly appreciated how responsive and helpful Justine was with our requests. I’m confident she would have addressed the issues if we had stayed longer and had the chance to give her more detailed feedback.

Justine’s camp is beautiful!! Well stocked kitchen, outhouse and hot water shower!! I appreciated being a bit out of town as you get to wake up with the birds. Not a far drive from hilo and just down the road is a beautiful cliff spot. Justine is a kind and generous host. She gave great suggestions on best places to eat and farmers markets to see. Honestly just let her know what you hope to see and she'll help make it a reality!

Overall we had a great experience, host was very nice. Unfortunately the campsite was near a lot of traffic. You could hear the neighbors and cars at night. Didn’t feel as private as we were expecting.

We had a really lovely experience at Justine’s labor of love Hipcamp. She’s an excellent hostess. The tiny cabin was perfect, and it was very cool to walk the grounds and see all that was growing - oranges, bananas, avocados, coconuts, sugar cane…The view of the stars at night was amazing. Also, Justine is a wonderful chef. The meals she made were fantastic. Very highly recommend!

Justine was an excellent host. The space is wonderful and cute, and the dinner add on was incredible. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an escape from the typical tourism on the islands and itching for a Farm to table escape with a bit of camping fun.

Really lovely site You can hear the frog and the sounds of the forest in the night. Outdoor kitchen with a propane grill and a stove burner. The toilet is off grid And there’s an outdoor Hot water shower. We arrived kind of late, but Justine was flexible with our arrival. We got a dozen eggs and they were delicious!

Justine has created a tranquil space that is very welcoming. She was helpful in figuring out where I could park my camper van and didn’t mind that I would be coming in late after an awesome tour to the top of Mauna Kea. I highly recommend staying at Justine’s little spot of paradise!

Our group of 4 stayed at both the dome and the tiny home. We had a wonderful time and fell asleep to the sounds of the forest each night. The shower was wonderful as well. We did the farm to table dinner and breakfast option and both were incredible! Could not recommend the food enough. The location was a perfect jumping off point to get to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Justine had great recommendations as well for things to do/restaurants in the area.

Justine was such a great host. So attentive and caring. Always checking to make sure we had everything we needed and were taken care of. She helped us out when we had any questions or needed any recommendations for things to do. The cabin was very cozy, very clean, and I felt very safe here! Justine’s food was also amazing, so I highly recommend trying one of her fresh home cooked meals!!

Fantastic place, easy to find and lots of amenities! Justine was helpful and quick to respond. The sounds of the forest at night were incredible. Only tent camped for one night but hope to visit again for the full experience sometime time soon.

Justine greeted us as we entered the gate, a walk through intro and let us set up camp & the safe experience of that part of the island was spot on. The sounds of that forest really awakens your ancestral genes haha. Hot shower outdoors was a winner and still keeping the camp feel. She has created a nice flowing system as she’s still creating more to it, I would def learn more of her logic. Loved the chickens, ducks, plant variations! We’ll be back for her cooking and stories !

Justine is INCREDIBLY warm and inviting. Her hospitality is generous. There permaculture farm she has cultivated is inspiring for those interested in learning how to live off the land. The space we rented was cozy and cute. I’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming prepared with a headlamp for nighttime bathroom runs. If you’ve mastered the art of scrambled eggs, buy a dozen ultra fresh eggs from her and her chickens and prepare them in the outdoor kitchen she’s set up.

Home away from home!
Soundbath Sanctuary (1-2ppl)
Justine is the most warm and loving host, I can't say enough great things about my experience. Her property is so lush and inviting, the dome is a sanctuary of escape and her food is absolutely delicious! She taught me how to make pasta, crack open coconuts, as well as taught me all about her sustainable farm to table process. So many of her ingredients are grown right right on the property, it's a beautiful and sustainable way to live and experience Hawaii. I can't wait to return! Thank you for everything!

Chickens, a dog, a friendly host and the unique proprty layout made this our kids' favourite spot on our camping trip. Good spot to stop if you plan to explore the southeast parts of the island. 👍
