Great Site that could use some TLC

The Crab Claw'
Great location, you are very close to the beach with a short dune that allows you to see the ocean from your RV. When we arrived the very full wheely trash bin was tipped over and trash pulled out. The neighbor said it had been that way for a week after a Florida black bear went through it. Spent hour cleaning up the trash which was all over the site. Picnic table needs replaced or disposed, shower valve leaks, ground is very sandy and could use gravel refreshed.

It was not kept up. Dirty, trash, dead vegetation. Picnic table broken. Clearly no one takes care of it. Plus someone rode a golf cart over their beach walk and ran over our sewer hose and ruined it.

We loved the setup at the Crab Claw! It was quiet, clean & easy to set up our camper. Plenty of room for our vehicle, and outdoor lounging set up. It’s just a short walk to the beach, half ground cover vines, half boardwalk over a dune.
The beach was beautiful & very private feeling, even with a few families from nearby rentals setting up as well. My husband fished & I walked the shoreline.
We loved the area & will definitely return!
Only suggestion would be a little bit better lighting on the signage & maybe a more prominent placing, especially for those coming in after dark…the sign is small & if you aren’t paying attention you might miss it.

Beautiful spot with a new private walkway right to the beach. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Not too far from the cute shoos and restaurants of Port St Joe.
I was able to take my dog and had a wonderful time!

We had a very relaxing anniversary trip at The Crab Claw! Very short walk over the dune and you are there! I think the nicest thing is how calm the beach is because there is no public access. You can sit and relax or there is plenty of stuff to do around Cape San Blas and Port St Joe!
Also the host are VERY responsive and answered every question we had quickly. Would definitely stay again!

We loved our time spent on Tracy & Chas’s lot. The view of the water and the sound of it was so relaxing and soul soothing. They have a new boardwalk and I parked my beach chair there all week to sit and vegetate each day. If you want a quiet and scenic spot you must give this spot a go.

Loved our stay! Beach is awesome. Always had a breeze. We do recommend a canopy for shade. We brought tie downs for the awning on our camper so we could leave it out without worrying about the wind getting it. Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely beautiful spot, the perfect get away. It’s quite on the beach and not even a lot of traffic on 30a. Site is easy to get into even with a 44’ camper. Tracy is a God send and answered every question I had.
Only draw back, the water hook up is on the other side of the lot. With July heat water coming through a lot of hose stays warm with no water heater.

The beach access was incredible. Particularly for early morning or evening walks on the beach. The outdoor shower is an added bonus. My only concern was the lack of signage or address labeling from the road. We had to really pay attention to the addresses around us to figure out where to turn. Otherwise, great site.

This is the PERFECT beach campsite! I want to come back here over & over. It features a convenient stroll to the beach, hardly any other people there (due to not being an overly populated area), and very little light pollution so you can enjoy the stars at night. Quick trip in any direction to other activities. Part of our group drove over to check out Apalachicola and we enjoyed snorkeling in the bay at St Joseph’s Peninsula state park. Do I want to recommend to others? Yes!! 100 times yes, but I don’t want anyone else to find out about this great spot because then it will always be booked and I can’t come back! (Just kidding! Kind of) We loved every moment of our stay!!!! Tracy & Chas communicated well the one time we needed them. Otherwise, everything was as described and we enjoyed a superb stay! Can’t wait to come back (soon).
