Privacy in Fort Ogden

Great spot! We had the place to ourselves which was awesome. The host was super accommodating with our last minute reservation and our early arrival. There was plenty of firewood available for free and the new bathrooms were great. The farm animals were very friendly (beware of curious donkeys trying to snatch your food 🤣). Very quiet property which I’ve found to be surprisingly rare at hipcamps because neighboring properties play music or have outdoor dogs or flocks of roosters. None of those issues here, though! Would definitely come camp here again.

This was a nice quiet spot for tent camping! The basic amenities are covered with 2 chairs, firepit, and picnic table. There is a bathroom and running water, but it is a few minute walking distance across the property. Overall great spot for an overnight stay!

This stay was amazing! I so loved the donkeys greeting us, the horns on the cows made me nervous but I’m fine!! 😂 It was so quiet and dark so we sleep very well, we needed that. I did hear a hoot owl which was nice too. I will definitely come back and hopefully be able to stay more than one night. I was just too tired to light a fire and missed it.

Camping with animals!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we had an amazing experience here. Our host Kevin, was very accommodating and he has a beautiful property. Feeding the animals was the highlight of the weekend for us! We also checked out fisherman’s village in Punta Gorda and it was only a 25 min drive from camp. Lots to do around this campground if you don’t want to stay at camp all day. We will be coming back!

We just loved Kevin’s property which had animals ,solitude and privacy. It was exactly what we were looking for and found. Kevin is very nice and fast when you need help and gives you the best way to get to the property as it was impossible to follow the directions thru the coordinates!. Thanks Kevin for all the help.

The perfect place to be very close to being by yourself. There are 3 sites and all offer extreme privacy, so is just the perfect camping spot. Wife and I fell in love with the place!!!.

We enjoyed our time here very much! Relaxing in nature with the animals was much needed. Tent camping in the pasture gave us a great view of the night sky. The donkeys were very sweet and came to greet up a few times. Fire pit was AWESOME especially to warm up around on a cool night! Overall just a great time would recommend to anyone who loves peace and chilling out!

A very private and friendly place. And Kevin was extremely patient with my struggle trying to book another night. Which was mostly due to the Hipcamp app. Was very frustrating. I’d come back.

Very nice campsite. Loved the roaming cows and donkeys! They’re all very sweet! They just walk around and eat/relax around the campsites. It was my favorite part of the whole weekend! Lots of great bird watching too! The area is very quiet and peaceful, so you definitely feel more secluded than you really are. It’s very dark in the area, so bring your head lamp. (Lots of star watching too). As an aside, the porta potty was very well maintained and supplied. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

If heaven was a place on earth this would be it. I don’t know if it’s the animals, the landscape, the fountain, or just the simplicity of camping, but I felt as if there was not one single stress hormone in my body. Such a good place to camp. Will 100% be back again.

Fantastic spot on a beautiful property. Hearing the pond water was such a fun bonus that I hadn’t even considered but it legit elevated the experience so much. Peaceful, private, and vast. Friendly and communicative host who was kind enough to provide us with a ton of firewood. My only regret is not visiting the donkey who sounds like a character but that’ll have to happen next time. Thanks Kevin and hope you have an excellent New Year’s!

It was awesome! Exactly what we wanted. Off the grid cheap camping for the primitive type. The cows just mosey around. Cute little pond in the middle. They left us wood and it was dried out and perfect for a fire all night. No noseeums just some mosquitos, but nothing a little bug spray couldn’t fix! Would definitely stay again. We camped in a tent for 2 people.

There were tiki torches with fuel, extra chairs, and a fancy fork for cooking Smores with. There was a good half acre of forest to roam in and room to play. When we were all packed up and ready to go the battery on the truck was dead. I called Kevin and he was was 45 minutes away. He told me where to get his battery charger, generator and utility vehicle. We were able to get the battery charged an on the road. Thank you Kevin.

This site was clean, private, and had running water. The host was extremely kind and a good communicator. He made it a priority that we enjoyed our time at the site and was very understanding and accommodating. The beaches are not a bad drive away either! Would 100% recommend for anyone looking to do some camping and hit the beaches!
