Request your dates and discuss your intentions for our space. Springs adventure central with clothing-optional forest camp. We are a 15-acre homestead focused on sustainability hosting 'leave no trace camping.' We request respectful eco-friendly guests and have restrictions against using accelerants to start fires. All wood ash and charcoal is used in our biochar making process to help transform the soil for our agroforestry project. We are in a prime location for campers interested in springs adventures, with many springs within 20-35 mins and many more within 60 minutes' drive, and only 35 to Gainesville. We host dog boarding with Rover app, which means your pet is welcome when booked on the app at a special discounted rate to Hip Campers. Need to leave but can't take your pet? We can give walks and meals as well as crate or kennel them until your return to camp. Please read the RULES carefully. Our gate is lighted with 24/7 camera surveillance watching the street, gate, and our house/shed. We only rent to one group at a time with a preference to small groups. We are busy with culinary and sustainable side projects for the community. This is a working agricultural site and not the place for small children to be wandering around discovering the world. Respect for the ecology is paramount as you may be camping next to restoration projects where we endeavor to encourage edible flora to grow. *We also have a ban on alcohol. Alcohol consumption is not permitted. You will be made to leave if you exhibit irrational or irresponsible behavior. The property has many faces through the season and has abundant wildlife. Please be prepared to deal with anything from deer outside your tent, to mosquitos, ticks and mites. Mosquito netting, natural bug repellent, anti-itch cream, boots and appropriate clothing are advised. You can go clothing-free and barefoot around without causing a stir, but that is at your own discretion. We are in rattlesnake country, so please mind your footing. The gardens are not tropical year-round. The camps may be more tropical in summer but also have more bugs. We swim, dive and paddle year-round on our waterways. When you stay with us, we always know where to go, where is clear and where is brown. Culinary River Junkies Within....

Forest Camp (tent site)

Tent site · Sleeps 8
We are right in the heart of the Springs country with a different adventure in every direction. This is a dive paddle homestead. We can help shuttle you to the sights and even join you for a freedive or scuba. The largest Publix in Alachua is 5 mins away, and it's only 35 to Gainesville. 5 mins to Newberry, 10 to Trenton, 20 to High Springs. However, you will be tucked away in your own little forest sanctuary that's actually one big permaculture project. Fungi foraging is excellent in July-September, though we discourage eating anything you find without proper identification or knowledge of the host. Stay in one of several sites and see our eco-teaching garden and food forest. Discover primal living with our clothing optional policy. We are a source for acquiring tropical fruits and local foods. Ask ahead about a local foods box and what gourmet items are available. Don't waste time in civilization when you can be underwater and in the forest? Basic compost toilet available but bring your own toilet if desired. We have an indoor toilet and hot shower for donation. There is an outdoor shower garden hose near the main community firepit at Peace Camp, which is unlisted right now due to electrical outage. You may use that area if booking. We do not host multiple groups at once. The gate is secure with cameras.

Peace Camp (van/RV)

Vehicle site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 30 ft
Peace camp is located shortly up the driveway on the right at the bend of the driveway towards the house. There is a sign that reads, 'Peace Camp' and also a World Peace flag hanging from the tree. There is a 2-socket electric plug-in for normal appliances, a firepit, trash barrel, a spigot with well water, and an RV 50amp electric plug-in. Enjoy great views of starry nights from this location. There are multiple locations to choose from for tent set-up, and a few options for van parking but the RV parking has only one option to access the RV electric plug-in. Having a long cable for the 50amp is recommended to avoid parking under the powerlines. The closer to 25-foot extension you bring the better. We are working to provide one in the future. Please be aware parts of Peace Camp are actively planted garden areas. Care and respect must be taken while using the site to remain on the path. This will be pointed out to you at check-in, where we will update you on the current and changing dynamics of the homestead. Use of the Forest camp comes included when booking Peace camp. We only rent out to one customer at a time. Please leave both sites as you found them.
