Otter Cove
Otter Cove is a great place for a weekend get away. Easy to find and fairly secluded. Short dirt road leading in. The spot is on the back end of a large clearing with big oaks surounding and drop off on two sides. The site has a good mix of shade and sun. We were the only ones their and had complete privacy. You can hear some traffic, but its pretty far off. We would stay here again.

Vince greeted us the evening we arrived. He was very friendly and accommodating. Campsite was spacious and had a great view overlooking an open field. My daughter and I had a great time.

I would definitely use again. I did not meet the owner but the setup is nice. Unfortunately, the summer weather switch turned on so it was very hot so I did not put out awning and enjoy the outside lol. Would be a great place when cooler - lots of space between the 3 sites. If you have children they have some nice play items for the kids to climb on.

Very nice location that’s minutes from town! Family friendly and the host was excellent! Would chichis recommend to anyone passing through or locals who just want to get away for a couple nights.

What a great quiet place to relax for the weekend plenty of room between the three sites. There was one other camper there that had a generator, and from our campsite, you could barely hear it. So the three sites are set up in such a way that you hardly know anyone else is there we stayed in otter Cove, but next time we will try owl landing.. the host Vincent was very friendly but yet did not bother us all weekend.

Vincent’s is a magical spot to camp! Great location to set up the Rv (or tent), very private, very safe location with nice open areas and beautiful large live oak trees. Close to everything you may need concerning grocery stores, etc., yet at the camp spot you are surrounded by woods and cool wildlife (so many owls, was awesome!). The host was super responsive, gave great directions and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Vincents place!

I enjoyed tent camping at Myrtle oaks. Very beautiful property, nice camping sites with lots of beautiful birds, squirrels and lightning bugs. Very friendly and helpful host.

Vincent’s property is a tranquil oasis with beautiful live oak trees, owls and Redheaded woodpeckers in abundance. A very peaceful and relaxing site for a getaway from the daily grind. Vincent is a very kind host and was gracious enough to assist me with jump starting my vehicle after I let the battery run down. I highly recommend Myrtle Oaks if you’re looking for a peaceful place to spend a few days getting back to nature.

We loved the large area with trees for shade. Listening to the owls, watching for the woodpeckers as they went tree to tree, and the fire pit with chairs (so we didn't have to drag ours out) were all unexpected bonuses. We would definitely stay again.

Vincent’s property was very convenient to the activity we were doing. Vincent was very accommodating with supplying us with water for our tank on our camper and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful stay!

This was a lovely piece of property to camp in. I was breaking in our new camper van and had no trouble getting in or maneuvering around in the spot. Had two peaceful nights of rest as the area was very quiet. Vincent was very communicative and welcoming. Note that gps took me into a neighboring drive but I had overlooked Vincent’s message on handling the last bit of the drive. So pay attention to his directions. :)

What a great spot to boondock! There is so much space to enjoy. We loved sitting by the fire and listening to the owls and limpkins. We stayed in Owl Landing and were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves. It was also very close to groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. Vince was an excellent host and was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend if you need a place to escape to!

Myrtle Oaks is a beautiful place to stay. Vincent is a wonderful host. We only got to stay one night, but it was so nice sitting out by the fire that night. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp.

We had a magical night camping on Vincent’s property. We ended up getting delayed on our way and were expected to arrive after the sun was down and Vincent already started our camp fire so it was good to go. We also got lost on our way there and ended up at his neighbor’s house and he stepped away from his wife’s Christmas party to give us directions. We camped under the moon and the night sky was so clear we saw a few meteors streak across the sky. It couldn’t have been more perfect. We will definitely be returning soon!

After stay at Vincent’s camp for about two weeks, I can say I was treated with respect and friendliness from Vincent and his family the entire time. This beautiful camp is carved out amongst the oak trees and provides for ample privacy due to the spacing of the sites! This site is tucked away and very peaceful. You’ll hear owls hooting and other sounds of nature rather than trucks rolling down the road. This site is the perfect balance between accessibility to big stores (with most stores like Walmart etc. being about 5 minutes away) and the secluded feeling you get when immersed in nature. The next time I pass through this area, I’ll be sure to check whether Myrtle Oaks Campground has availability!

We had an amazing time staying at Myrtle oaks! The property was beautiful and it was lovely to have a breath of natural air just on the edge of the city. Vincent was a incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and gave fun suggestions. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

What a great site and experience! Vincent was fantastic from communication on the way, at arrival and our farewell. I let him know our eta and he was awaiting to greet my family and I. Directions were easy, he led us to our site, told us the things we needed and wanted to know, very friendly and welcoming. When he brought us fire wood, he also gave my son a cup of corn to feed the ducks. There were three camping sites in the loop, however we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. It was a beautiful shaded spot. I would recommend staying here again for sure.
Pros: Shaded, private from noncampers, friendly, helpful, neat ducks, land to explore, playground for kids, pet friendly, close enough to places but far enough away to not be in the middle of it all, affordable, friendly and welcoming.
Cons: No water sorce
Neither Pro nor Con: Highway noise but not terrible, small nest in slide,
