Beautiful spot overlooking Lake Weir in The Ocala National Forest.
Watch the otters play and count the many different birds that make this lake their home. Treat yourself sunsets every night as the sun disappears into the water and enjoy the awesome reflection of the moon as it sets on the lake.
(Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight).
We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake.
The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening.
Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge.
You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music.
Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites.
RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site.
Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle.
Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock.
Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road.
Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected.
If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock.
We also have citronella torches available for rent.
We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10.
Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible.
It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground.
We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so.
Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people.
Each site has its own fire pit.
Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews.
Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge.
I'm a professional photographer with 30 years of experience. Please inquire if you are interested in having your portrait made at this incredible location.
We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths.
Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

We welcome all including BIPOC and LGBTQ. :)
This campsite offers a serene and picturesque getaway with stunning lake views and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors rave about the opportunity for water activities like kayaking and fishing, and appreciate the well-maintained amenities, including a clean bathroom and an outdoor shower with a view. While most reviews are glowing, one negative review notes concerns about privacy, cleanliness, and communication with the host. Overall, it's a favored spot for those looking to relax by the water, with friendly hosts and a sense of tranquility being frequently highlighted.
Absolutely perfect. Exactly as pictured but even better in person! Good bass fishing, it's private, and the bathroom is such an amazing bonus. Marci and Bentley are very wonderful hosts!
Marci's directions to her place were helpful and she was responsive to my questions. I have a 17' travel trailer and was able to back into my site without any trouble. Aside from occasional noise from a neighbor, Marci's place was quiet. I especially appreciated the outdoor shower and enjoyed overlooking the lake.
Marci was a gem. We canceled one reservation, because of our schedule, we had late modifications, again, our issue … Marci just went with our flow and we are thankful.
Nicest bathroom facilities you will see at a Hipcamp, I’m sure!
The lake location is perfect for water fun.
We enjoyed our two nights at Marci's site. The site closer to the dock has a fire pit in a more secluded corner of the yard and with the tent placed and our truck parked next to it we couldn't even see the house. After welcoming us and guiding us in we didn't have any need to contact Marci and we had a peaceful stay. I think we would definitely stay again as the proximity to Santos trailhead was not too far. Only concern was that there are some lower branches along the narrow driveway that did brush our truck so anything larger might have difficulty unless they're trimmed.
Marci's land, hospitality, and responsiveness made this trip amazing. We had the pick of two spaces, but ended up having the whole yard to ourselves bc there weren't any other campers. Marci left us alone but was prompt to respond whenever we needed anything. My pups loved the free reign they had, and Marci's pup is so friendly! Also, the outdoor shower was delightful with that view. We will definitely be back!
Hip camp only allows 1500 characters so I am going to try to hit everything with no detail: -It is a home lot, both campsites are behind her house so not only will you see the other campers but you can be watched by Marci from her home. -RVs are not welcome, we had a truck and standard size trailer and got rude texts after we left even though she came out to greet us when we got there and said nothing -the $10 wheelbarrow is a mini wheelbarrow total joke - bathroom and outdoor shower nasty with massive bugs. Her dog scratches at the door everytime you use the bathroom -tub is not a hot tub and not worth the $20 -when we left she sent super rude text messages and accused us of dirtying her bathroom walls and even made incorrect and insulting accusations about my children but I have pictures timestamped that proves that nasty crap was there when we got there. -As we were packing up to leave it began to pour. This delayed our packing efforts a bit and even though check out is at 12 it was 1 when the last items were going on the trailer and I was getting the kids settled in the truck. We were about to do our last look through and cleaning when she came out and began yelling that we were late for check out. So we just left. We ended up leaving our cleaning products there and I wasn’t able to clean her nasty bathroom. RENTER BEWARE TAKE PHOTOS DONT EXPECT ANYTHING MORE THAN CAMPING IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD. WE SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT INSTEAD OF DEAL WITH MARCI
Nice little spot to relax. We even got to see an otter in the lake. Stayed in the shaded area on the water near the dock. Very pretty place.
Fresh water and power at our tent door. Our dogs enjoyed a little exploring. Host was right there to meet us and then we saw no one.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at Marci’s site. Serene and beautiful. Lovely outdoor shower and clean and cool bathroom. We are repeat campers to this site!
There’s no where else we’ll pitch a tent for a long weekend between Ocala, Silver Springs, and Ocklawaha. Just spent our 3rd weekend in two months, and every stay was better than the last.
Very beautiful location. I will say this is a personal home and you camp in the back yard, BUT, you have all the privacy as you would at any other camp ground. You do not see the host unless you want to. Its a secluded area that faces the lake. It is a very gorgeous place to be. We camped at the site that was more off to the side by itself and we got to wake up every morning and see the beautiful water. I enjoyed listening to the frogs croak and the singing of the bugs at night. It was a very peaceful and enjoyable vacation! I would love to come back here the next time I visit Florida!! Thank you so much! Host is very nice and welcoming!!
My husband and I loved camping at Marci’s land for the weekend. The campsite had a beautiful lake view and was very quiet. We enjoying using our paddle boards on the lake. We really liked the outdoor shower after a day on the lake. We would definitely stay here again!
I love the camping at Marci's place. It was just what we needed for a long weekend getaway. The sunsets each evening were spectacular. we got in some kayaking, fishing and hiking all great things to do in this area. She is a great host and we will definitely be back again. thank you so much for a long extended weekend
Beautiful spot on a great lake. Quiet and private. Loved the dock for coffee, wine, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Go to Gator Joe’s for dinner! Using the stand up paddle-board and seeing the otters were my favorite things.
We loved our stay and the dogs could not have been happier. Great fishing pier. Clean bathroom. Loved the outdoor shower. We didn’t need the electrical hook ups but it was on the ready next to our site. Marci was a wonderful host. We will be back and would recommend it to anyone.
There were lake views for days. If it's kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing or just chilling on the water this spots for you. Marci was a gracious host, welcoming and hospitable. Site can accommodate a van and/or tent/vehicle accomodations. Bring your chairs, something for shade and let the relaxation begin
I chose the site directly in front of the house, and parked my van with the door toward the water. I set up my little chair and table, looking out to the beautiful view of the lake. There is a lovely dock to walk out onto, and beautiful birds to enjoy.
Marci's backyard is a great place for camping. Her assistant, Bentley, is very helpful and thoroughly inspected the tents after I set them up.
The view of the lake is spectacular, especially at sunset. We really enjoyed our time there.
Awesome private spot! Could spend all day being lazy and fishing on dock or just hanging out at campsite overlooking beautiful Lake Weir! Marci is a most gracious host and offers use of her kayaks and canoes as well. Hardly knew she was around but there if needed. Really enjoyed watching beautiful sunsets and seeing otters, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, cardinals and more! Be sure to bring your binoculars. Very nice bathroom for use with bathtub but we loved outdoor shower...Had both hot water and a view of the lake!
Highly recommend for private, peaceful time.
Hoping to visit Marci's beautiful paradise again!
Very nice campsite right on a beautiful lake with gorgeous sunsets. We had the more private of the two campsites and enjoyed it very much.
We would definitely stay there again.
Lovely views of Lake Weir. Two campsites - one shaded by beautiful live oaks but overlooked by the house. The other more private from the house, but less private from the sun and less beautiful shade. Nice to have a hose for our site and nice to have a bathroom.
It was a lovely spot with a nice view of Lake Weir. The camping space is not a super large area, it’s located in a residential back yard. No complaints but just be aware this is not a large remote camping spot. The lake is beautiful and there are small water craft available to borrow (kayak, paddle board canoe). I popped my tent under the trees and enjoyed a nice breeze. Close to local hikes. I did a day trip over to Carney Island which was lovely!
