I was traveling through and decided to book something last-minute. Before booking, I asked Dawn a few questions through the message link. She responded right back and told me I could head in and park wherever I'd like on her land. Her place was easy to find and I had my pick of spots as I was the only camper there. There are no assigned spots. You can park where you feel most comfortable. There were trees on the land that gave shade and some privacy. Her land is right off the highway so you can hear the traffic passing by. Dawn said I was welcome to have a fire and use the wood she had gathered. There were no official fire pits but I believe she said it was okay to make a fire wherever. Dawn was kind enough to offer me eggs for breakfast but I don't eat eggs and I ended up staying for only a couple of hours because I rested and decided to continue on my way home. I'm not sure if she owns the land where the trees start on the backside of the property (she said a lot of people park up against the trees), but I saw what looked like a trail that was cut in there, so you may be able to walk on it if it's part of her land? Dawn did mention that there are bears, and other wildlife around, so I'd bring a tote for your food or plan to lock it up. As mentioned- there is no toilet. It is carry in and carry out. Thanks again for responding so quickly and accommodating me on short notice Dawn!

There is so much space to get that real camping experience, but with the added bonus of adorable farm animals to visit. Dawn is super friendly and helpful while respecting your space as well. You get all the beautiful stars and woods with the address bonus of Gainesville being 15 minutes up the road!

What a cute place and magical place! Dawn was so very sweet and so accommodating as well. I ended up showing up pretty late and had a hard time finding the exact driveway, but she popped right over and helped out. This place is so fun and I’m stoked to see what it becomes in the future. I do wish the best of luck with all her wonderful dreams for the space because it really is a dream.

Dawn has a fantastic property with a great story and we're lucky to find her as it's current care taker. Looking forward to coming back and seeing her vision for the property come together. The land is private, but close to a road. The noise isn't too bad by any means but if you're looking for far from civilization it isn't that. The animals are a highlight wether you really check them out or look from afar. Fantastic clearings with ample tree coverage to attempt beating the head no matter the time of day. Enough wood that collecting can be an after thought. The property is far enough from any significant light pollution that the stars look fantastic, and fireflies are frequent visitors to the campsite really adding to the experience. Remember to bring a trash bag and leave enough room to take it with you for when you leave. Again Dawn is a great host to a property with a story. Her personality is a perfect fit and it's great to speak to someone that's doing what they love. Looking forward to our next stay in a few months!

Dawn is wonderful and her spot is magical. I generally have an awful time sleeping - the two nights I stayed there I slept phenomenally! The animals are so very much fun to watch and interact with. Loved my time there with my two senior dogs.

Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time camping here. Dawn was super friendly and we had eggcelent fresh eggs in the morning. Would high reccomend this camp site for anyone who wants a relaxing getaway not to far from Gainesville. With 5 acres of beautiful landscape, you can pick any camping spot that suites your needs. Dawn is a friendly host and makes sure your are fine but respects your privacy. She even supplied us with the best eggs from her flock. The farm is a magical setting with lovely sunsets and wildflowers blooming all around us. Its about 25 minutes NE of Gainesville and close to many lakes and hiking trails. We will certainly be back!

Dawn doesn’t just have property, she has a living, breathing thing. The chorus of song birds, the farm animals, and the soft whisper of wind in the trees tops, make the sound from the highway a background noise. She herself is one of the kindest, genuine, and lovely people that I’ve met. There is so much to explore, the stars are beautiful and clear, and the rustic atmosphere brings you closer to nature and away from the fast paced rat race of life. I made the (very stupid) mistake of driving over the leaves through the forest line, thinking the slope was minimal, but they were quickly packed and my car was moored. After a few hours of me trying to dig it out, she and her friend (Kali, if I’m not mistaken) had come to check on me and saw the predicament I was in and immediately went to work to help me get it out, out of generosity and kindness. There is much to do nearby. Rainbow river is less than an hour away, the Florida Museum of Natural history, the Bouleware Springs Park (dog friendly, despite the signs) and the farmers market and flea market. She has a fairy shop! How cute is that?? I highly recommend this spot to disconnect from society a bit. *tip* the far right of the grounds is best, just don’t do what I did and drive through the tree line.

Nice site that has lots of space and good spots. Dawn the host was friendly and filled me in on the history of the site, which was very interesting. No running water, but not a problem for experienced campers. Dawn has a small farm there also with chickens, ducks, goats and more and will hook you up with fresh eggs!

Great value and easy in out for our journey from Tampa to Charlotte. Very friendly host and area is flat and shaded for RV or tent camping. If you are a light sleeper recommend ear plugs as the hip camp is next to the freeway and traffic is consistent through the night. Don’t forget the farm fresh eggs in the morning!

Beautiful property, such a fun place to stay. Dawn was a super responsive host. Lots of fun perks- we made friends with one of the goats as we came to check out our camp in the evening!

I loved our camp spot that we got to choose and had no issues getting there. Great place to spend the weekend with the kiddos and the farm vibe made our stay made it so unique and a perfect match for our kids to have fun and away from screens 😂. Also loved that it wasn't far from a lot of other parks and experiences. Will be planning on coming back in the future to explore more.

I loved the proximity the property was to the areas that I wanted to explore. I loved how welcoming Dawn was, she checked in on me several times to see if I needed anything. The animals were great to watch and the property was big enough that I felt like I had privacy.

A delightful time at the farm

My sister and brother camped overnight in their trailer. I met up with them the next day and they said they loved the experience with Dawn, her family, and the animals. They also enjoyed hearing the stories from the history of the property. Dawn gifted them the most delicious eggs! The only negative thing they had to say was, camping is next to a road. I'm going to book a couple days for myself the end of April!

Happy campers after a 2day stay!
5 Secluded Acres by Game Trails
We booked this trip to get away in nature last minute and were pleasantly suprised. Dawn, the host, was a wonderful, spirited soul. We got to see all the animals and enjoyed peaceful evenings with all the sounds. Would recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a true primitive experience!
