Booked Site 2 for two nights. On arrivaI found the site littered with sticks and very uneven; the fire pit had a lot of random wood scattered about it and was filled with trash, pretty much unusable. The "picnic table" was dilapitated with a wobbly top. The trees had a lot of dead wood that would fall when the wind blew. There was only 1 level spot to put up my 4-person tent, and it was very close to Site 3's fire pit. I had to pick up a bucket full of sticks before I could pitch my tent in that spot. I thought okay, let's relax and try to make the most of it. Around dinner time the Site 1 campers returned (a MUCH nicer site - level, grass, swing with lights, nice bench and fire pit, and grill, but right by the outhouse). Then the nastiest, foulest, most disgusting smell we ever smelled started. Whenever one of them would visit the outhouse, it would start, and last for about 30 minutes. By 9pm it wasn't letting up at all. It was utterly gag-inducing, something between fishhead soup and rotting carcass. The outhouse was a completely homegrown affair. The stench was so bad that most of their party packed up at midnight, 45 minutes after going to bed, and left. If my friend hadn't made the drive out I would have done the same. I packed up in the morning and didn't even consider staying for my second night. Additionally the road noise was loud and constant throughout the entire night; motorcycles, trucks, and cars. The host never responded to messages around directions and ETAs.

The site was beautiful! Lots of space, a huge fire pit and lots of seating, two grill options, and a little creek running behind it. We spent a lot of time at Horsetooth reservoir, only 20 minutes away. Only downside was no running water and the bathroom is just an outhouse with lots of spiders, so come prepared!

Awesome campsite, we had a blast. It was very private, the creek was really fun for the kids and dog to cool off in. Tons of seating, huge fire pit, lots of shade, and plenty parking space. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot just west of Loveland.

This was such a nice place to camp! Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy some peaceful outside time. They have very nice cows and our dogs seemed to like them, too! Highly recommend 😊

This is a great spot at the back of the property. The site is a good size and there were lots of tables, chairs, even a swing to relax in as you stare off into the sunset. Hosts are very personable. There was a bit of confusion upon arrival but that was cleared up quickly. The dirt track is just adjacent to the campsites so if others are using the track be prepared for some noise and dust. Lots of wood to chop for firewood. Site 1 does have trees for shade as well as open areas for some sunshine. Great location for hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing!

Such a beautiful space. By running water, shade trees, large space, large fire ring, plenty of seating. I saw turkeys, deer, friendly cows. I could go on and on. Perfect site.

I loved my two nights on the ranch. No traffic noice!
A really nice large creek on all sites!
I met the nicest people at site 1. The owners came down to the fire and turned on the party lights at dark! I felt like family!
If I ever come back to this area I would love to book more days here. The area is beautiful with lakes and parks and all that beautiful Colorado has to offer!
Tip: visit the Sculpture Garden in Loveland. Free and Fantastic!

We enjoyed our time very much, it was everything we were looking for: privacy and a beautiful setting. We loved being so close to the river, our site had a great fire pit with plenty of sitting, and they provided the fire wood.
It was quiet, but also conveniently located, only 10 minutes to Loveland or FTC. The hosts were extremely accommodating and attentive. We look forward to going back in the near future.

We absolutely loved tent camping on Joanne’s land. The site was easy to access and very close to CSU and Horsetooth Resevoir. A well maintained bathroom and plenty of chairs and tables were so convenient. This site has plenty of space to unwind and enjoy nature and we definitely plan on coming back

This place had great possibilities. The area was mowed but unkempt. The bathroom provided had not been cleaned. The area
was full of wood debis. It was difficult getting a hold of the owner and after 40 minutes finally was able to get directions to my campsite. I was charged a service fee of $15.00 but don't understand the extra service that was provided.

We had a great time staying at Maycroft Ranch! On first arrival, it was slightly confusing where to drive (I'd recommend adding more signage if possible and/or more detailed arrival instructions), but Jayden was able to help us and showed us to our site! There are 3 sites that are pretty close together but still separate enough to enjoy with your own group. There were tables, chairs, which were super helpful to have! and a stone fire ring. The outhouse is very well-constructed and sturdy, and has a clever yet simple lock system, we were impressed! The sites are really cute in a group of trees for shade and hammock-hanging, and next to a lovely little creek. Thanks for having us on your land! 💜

Joanne’s campground was great! It’s flat, well maintained and shaded! The fire pit was huge and had lots of seating. There is a small, clean vault toilet that is lit up at night. We really enjoyed listening to the creek at night. The cows were fantastic company and I was greeted by a deer in the morning! Having never been to CO before I had no idea where to stay in relation to where I was going. The drive to downtown Estes Park was about 20 min BUT the drive was SPECTACULAR! We will definitely stay again!

Maycroft Ranch is gorgeous! The sites are huge with plenty of shade. The creek runs right along the site, which made putting out fires extremely easy. Joanne provided chairs, benches, and tables, so it was nice to not have to worry about that. Directions were easy to follow, although we got a little lost once turning into her property, but it was dark. We will definitely be back!

We loved our two nights in site one! The site already had some seating, tables, and a few cooking tools in the grill. The outhouse was very well kept and the area in general was very clean and well maintained. There’s some brush between site 1 & 2 so it’s very private and we had a lot of fun getting in the creek behind the site!

Such a peaceful place to hang out and still close enough to Horsetooth/Fort Collins/Estes Park if you want to do other things! The river is literally steps away for you to enjoy.
Joanne and Jeremy are great hosts and are super helpful. We’ll be back multiple times this summer!

We loved camping on Joanne’s land. The campsite was huge and private with a flowing creek and she even provided water. She is extremely kind and was amenable to our requests. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area!

We tent camped at Maycroft Ranch and would gladly do it again! The location is secluded and private, beautiful location next to a creek bed. Very quiet other than when the cows on the property sing to you, which we loved and thought was hilarious. Perfect location for families who want a little more privacy for their kiddos to play.

Nice host and a nice remote location. My only concern were the dead cottonwood trees in the area of the sites that are a significant safety hazard. I ended up parking my truck close to my tent, between the trees and my tent to provide some deadfall protection. The road noise was also surprising with a fair amount of HD riders passing through the area.

It's a great spot. Seems secluded yet only 15 minutes from Loveland if you forgot anything. No wifi, but that was a good thing for us to get off our devices. Great fire pit area. The creek is so soothing in the background. The hosts are welcoming, there if you need them, but totally leave you to your privacy. The sites are spread apart, loved not being on top of each other. Will go back again.

Beautiful property set right up against the backdrop of the river. Each spot has their own fire ring, table, & chairs. There’s plenty of open space for kids to ride their bikes. My boys loved playing in the river- for hours. They caught a couple of frogs there, too. (They were released after a few mins, don’t worry.) Joanne was very welcoming & helpful. She takes such great care of the property- the camping was immaculate!

We camped in a 23 foot camper in the campsite by the creek. The camping area is peaceful and private and we had a great time relaxing there. Only 5 minutes from Horsetooth marina and trails. Wild turkeys walked through our campsite and the owners have cows and chickens nearby. Check with the owners when you arrive and they will instruct you how to get to the campsite. 4wd was nice to have when pulling the trailer out of the property up hill.
