PLEASE CHECK IN BEFORE 9 PM. We are less than 2 miles from I-70, We are just outside of the really small town of Mack, Colorado. We are 2 miles from the Colorado River, Horse Thief Canyon, and many other outdoor activities. Here you will find world class mountain biking. Bear Family Ranch is a secluded and hidden ranch, you cannot see the ranch from the roadway. You will see incredible views of the Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, and Mount Garfield. When the sun sets, shinning its sun rays on the Colorado Monument the shading of the monument brings the monument to life. There are 3 full hook-up RV sites and 8 dry WALK-IN 8'X8' raised pad camping sites (the walk is roughly 200 feet). Walk around the seasonal pond, explore the property, hike a mile to the Mack Wash. You can mountain bike around the property. It's quiet with birds flying and chirping. This is a very private and secluded location with lots of space! Bring your own camping toilet or use our outhouse with a camping toilet inside. Because it's a working ranch, we prefer to familiarize you and your guests to the ranch and show you the route to the site as we have exposed irrigation, irrigation ditches, and a pond. We prefer not to fish you out of the pond. LOL LIMIITED SEWER (If you need to dump grey or black from your RV tank, please help us keep our leach field from being saturated, If you need to dump grey or black water from your RV, we recommend the really nice rest area in Fruita. The Colorado Welcome Center Rest Area is off of I-70 at EXIT 19, which has a FREE dump station. We are on a leach field, no paper products including toilet paper into the sewer, please and thank you. We must check you in, to familiarize you and your guests to the Ranch. Ater check-in you are our guests; you may come and go as you need. We respect your privacy, but if you need anything please contact us or go to the main house. Being a family ranch, we are always working and vigilant of our animals and the security of the Bear Family Ranch.

Each site has a 10' x 10' raised flat dirt bordered with tree logs. Each site is about 30 feet from one site to the next site. One site, Paw 7 site, is set back from the other 6 sites. You will be camping near the irrigation river which feeds the pond. Some trees and bushes. All 7 siters are similar. The sites give a semi-secluded and quiet area away from the main house and the RV sites. No parking at any of the camping sites. If it is dry enough, we can allow parking in a designated area which then is about 40–80-foot walk to the sites. This is a dirt road that leads to the designated parking area, and no one can park there or drive there if and when the ground is wet. When wet we stay to the gravel areas. Desert and silt make an incredibly soft, slippery and sticky mud. You may bring your own camping toilet, or you may use the outhouse which has a camping toilet inside. This outhouse does not have running water, it's just a camping toilet. There are two non-potable water containers around the dry camping sites, closest to Paw #1 site and Paw #6 site. We have fresh water available. This water supply is nearest the main house, where you checked in. Please do not drink the irrigation water, it's non-potable. We can help you find the water to drink. To fill up drinking water, it's recommended to bring a drinking water container. We are on a leach field, which is a sensitive septic system, please be kind, discard all toilet paper, cooking oils, grease or fats, coffee grounds into trash receptacle. If needed, we have extra trash bags for your use. We have a large trash container near by. Due to leach field, if you need to dump your camper, your grey/black water please use the FREE dump station at the beautiful Colorado Welcome Center, in Fruita, off of Exit 19, please and thank you. There are a total of 5 RV full-hook-up sites, 2 sites are occupied by family ranch hands. These are back-in sites, we happy to and are willing to back your camper up for you. You have the opportunity to experience the ranch and explore over 150 acres.

We are a leach field sewer, which is a sensitive septic system, please dispose of toilet paper paper into the trash receptacle. We have extra trash bags for your use, and one large trash container near by. Due to leach field sewer, we ask that if you need to empty your black/grey water please use the FREE dump station at the beautiful Colorado Welcome Center in Fruita, I-70 Exit 19, thank you. There are a total of 5 RV full-hook-up sites, 2 sites are occupied by family ranch hands. These are back-in sites. We are here to help, and we are happy to and we are willing to back your camper up for you. You have the opportunity to experience the ranch and explore over 150 acres.

Absolutely fantastic stay! I was greeted by the host upon arrival, and they couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. They gave me a full lay of the land—showing me where I’d be staying, where I could walk on their property, local trails to check out, and great places to visit nearby. Grand junction is only 20 mins away so this was PERFECT! Once I got settled in and explored, holy cow—this property is stunning. The trails are not only beautiful but also really well maintained, raked, and clearly marked, which was such a treat for me and my dog to enjoy. They’ve also created the cutest tent camping sites, and you can tell so much care goes into keeping the whole property welcoming and enjoyable. The amenities were just as described, and I was able to easily plug in and charge up all my appliances without any issues. Between the scenery, the setup, and the kindness of the hosts, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. I’d definitely come back here, especially with a group for tent camping. Excellent property, wonderful people—highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Everything was great, nothing was missing, very private, beautiful location and AMAZING hosts. I took my two dogs with me and they could not have been welcomed more - often off leash when walking the ranch. If you have an occasion to stay near Grand Junction, I would absolutely recommend staying at the Bear Family Ranch!

This spot is magical. We loved it! We certainly enjoyed both hosts. They were very caring and capable. Just what you want from a host! - And, the RV site was excellent! Flat gravel driveway, private, easy access to the Ranch, and with all the amenities that we needed. (Water & electric). The views were epic!

We highly recommend Bear family ranch. Brian was a welcoming host helping us get a lay of the land and making sure we were settled in. We recommend getting up early and catching the sunrise from the ridge on the ranch. It was spectacular and we did it at the tray of our 16 year old daughter! If we are back in the area we will definitely stay here

We were having a tough time finding a camping spot for a long weekend of mountain biking. Bear Family Ranch RV came up on Hipcamp and it was perfect! The ranch was quiet and we were able to take our dogs for long walks on their property. Brian was excellent about communication whenever i had a question. All the amenities worked flawlessly for our camper and there were spots for friends who had vans that didn't require power/water/sewage. April even gave us farm fresh eggs while we were there! Nice, clean space. We arrived very late at night, and the hosts were still out to make sure we got in okay. Bonus, they gave us some eggs just to be friendly. Woke up to beautiful views on a lovely ranch. If we're up in the area again, we'll probably stay here.

Beautiful and very peaceful farm with views of the mountains off in the distance. We enjoyed sitting and relaxing watching over two horses and two donkeys grazing in the field every day while watching amazing sun rises. There is a pond on the property with cute ducks that will come to you to beg. Brian and April are amazing hosts! They even brought us some fresh eggs one morning. We would most definitely stay again if in the area. Thank You Brian and April for making our stay so wonderful!

It was an amazing stay from the hospitality and kindness of Brian and his wife to the scenery was so beautiful from the farm the pond the blue sky’s and the mountains it was so peaceful I will be going back and spending more time. If I did not have to go home I would still be there. Brians wife was so sweet she gave us fresh eggs to bring home from the farm and gave me food to feed the ducks in the pond. Comfortable safe and relaxing From the Pellegrino family to the Bear family Thank you 😊

We had a great time camping here. Camp site #7 was private and comfortable. The hosts were great. Very friendly & accomodating. The property was beautiful. Rolling hills, horses, donkeys, goats and ducks. A small pond and lots of land to explore. It was very relaxing! There were two portable toliets in an outhouse type structure. Not the most fancy set-up but it did the trick! We would highly recommend staying here!

We enjoyed our spot and listened to the frogs croaking at night. No bugs, clean, pleasant. Lots of room to explore. Remote enough, but also not too far from Fruita and mountain biking in the area. Brian and April were great! We took them up on their pancake and eggs breakfast, and it was perfect.

I enjoyed my time here, the scenery was beautiful, there was plenty of land to go for a stroll, and the owners were amazing! They were very hospitable and willing to help out with anything that was needed! I will absolutely be camping out here again and telling everybody I know about how amazing The Bear Family Ranch is!

We stayed for 4 nights at the Bear Family Ranch in spot number 7. The largest and most secluded site available. Brian and April truly are the best hosts I have ever experienced at a HipCamp so far. Saturday morning they cooked breakfast for 7 people. Brian did a great job letting know what to see around the area and made the group feel like family. Thanks !
