We absolutely loved our stay at Derek’s camper. You are surrounded by nature and also close to many beaches and points of interest. The camper has everything for a comfortable stay. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend this place. Thank you, Derek!

Amazing adorable spot. Host was considerate and made sure we were able to get there. It really is private and can walk a little on the trail. First time glamping so it was a great experience.

Your Own Private Campsite!
Lovely dog -friendly, clean, comfy well equipped trailer with running water and electricity sitting in the old Orchard. (Yummy apples!) Even has satellite TV. Farm is great, seems worlds away from everything but actually is very close to town of Aptos and Santa Cruz County beaches. Owner Derek most helpful!

Your Own Private Campsite!
My first experience in a trailer was a very positive one, so I will return to Derek's site again, for sure. The trailer has all the elements of home - a stove, fridge, microwave, sink and hot/cold water!!, and a toilet/shower combo. I didn't use most of the amenities or the TV, but it's nice to know they're (including the outside shower facility) available. The bed was firm, much to my relief. The deck area is spacious, and two deck chairs would enable visitors to just really relax/hang out in ideal weather. Lots of land to roam with a pet, too. Derek dropped by, so his hospitality speaks for itself. Easy access to Hwy. 1 is a plus. The entrance sign is just under 1.0 mile from Hwy. 1, so do slow down or you'll miss it the first time driving by.

We have only ever tent camped so this was a new experience for us and I think it definitely spoiled us to how convenient camping can be. Derek was super helpful, friendly, and responsive. The campsite was beautiful and peaceful and in a wonderful location for hiking, shopping, dining or just relaxing at the beach. The amenities available at the campsite blew us away and it helped having a private shower and bathroom.

It was such a Grand Time at Derek's land. It was Totally Peaceful and Private. All the appliances work and It had Beautiful Klandestine Views. The perfect way to Rest and Relax. Thank You so much for the TLC put into really making this a memorable place to be

I stayed two nights in this cute well equipped camper. It was in a lovely quiet spot on private property. Highly recommend, close to sights, restaurants and fantastic sausage markets. The property has a trail for walking and no other camping, just a large house to rent.

Awesome host. Well equipped camper. Very secluded / tranquil location quiet and easy access to other parts of city locations. Will definitely come back again to explore other destination in the area including B&B
Kid had fun seeing goats and chicken and the host even brought us some freshly laid eggs! He even provided a small grill to use over the picnic table. Time it right you may even get some fresh fruit off their many fruit trees. Easy checkin n checkout.

Great little trailer with all the amenities you need! The property on which it resides is beautiful and tucked away from the busy summer crowds of Santa Cruz. The host is super responsive and was quick to help when needed. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a great last minute stay to get away from the city for the week! We're avid campers but were looking for something a bit more glampy where we could get some work done. The trailer was perfect for us two adults and our small dog, all 3 of us enjoyed sunny deck mornings and comforts of the trailer in the cool evenings. Wifi is good enough to answer emails/browse the web but a bit spotty for video calls. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to explore them since no other guests were on site while we were there. The location is also perfect, far enough to be away from the summertime crowds but close enough to get nearly anywhere within 15ish mins - hiking, surfing, walking around the many quaint downtown areas. We would definitely stay again!
Only thing of note is that the trailer wasn't as secluded as we expected it to be. It's quite close to an overflow parking area which didn't bother us since noone else was on site, but I could see it being not ideal when the b&b has guests or an event.

Just beyond the dirt parking lot of a large property and beautiful event space (mostly weddings) and bnb, this little trailer sits alone at the top of the property. As the only guests onsite, we had plenty of privacy and were free to wander the property and enjoy its many nooks and crannies, all of which are surrounded by lush scenery and short nature paths. Derek and his family live on the property as well and were accommodating and responsive, offering us fresh plums and walks with their goats. Yes, you can walk their goats around the property. For the two of us and our little doggo, this was an affordable, comfortable and peaceful getaway from the city. Highly recommend!

This is a great HipCamp site with a great Host Derek. Derek knows hospitality and has thought of all you might need for a comfortable stay. The trailer is well-stocked....even some games to play. If you are in need of groceries there are 3 grocery stores 1.5 to 3 "easy to get to" miles away.
Also close for some refreshing hikes, running or mountain biking is The Forest of Nisene Marks state Park.
And of course many beaches.
Derek instructions were easy to follow.
He'll just check in with you to make sure all's well....other then that you have your privacy. Again. Great Host. Great Hipcamp site.

The camp host was good at communicating instructions. It was not necessary to check in and check out and that was very convenient. Everything was clean, the bedding was nice. The outdoor shower was a plus and the bird song in the orchard surrounding the trailer was an unexpected surprise. We would like to visit again!

The trailer is located on a beautiful old winery that’s also a location for weddings. The location was stunning with greenery everywhere. We were able to bring our reactive dog and had no issues. The outdoor shower is private, spacious, and very comfortable to use. Everything we needed was provided including sheets, towels, and soap. Derek was a great host and immediately addressed some water leaking issues. Highly recommend this location!

I loved everything about this campsite and Derek was very helpful! My husband and I went exploring and I got to fed the goats they have are so friendly and nice it is pet friendly as well we brought our lil puppy and she enjoyed her time too! We definitely would like to come again!

Derek’s camper was perfect for my husband & I & our dog. The land is beautiful & very well kept. We loved this area because it was right in between so many of our destinations like Monterey & Santa Cruz. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

I will never go back to traditional camping for my yearly anniversary ever again. My partner and I were totally convinced after this, we rather now have a relaxed camping or "glamping" anytime. We absolutely love the regional area; it situates in the outskirts of Santa Cruz, in the Aptos woods but still very much tamed compared to like Mendocino wayyy up north.
Camper trailer itself had all the amenities and commodities in a tiny travel home and it felt that way, homey!
We had some very minor water issue with the trailer bathroom in the middle of the night and we thought it would be handled in the morning. But instead, our host, Derek, came over as soon as I sent a message and fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes! Very friendly and astute guy.
The area surrounding the trailer grounds is near Sand Rock Farm, an event lodging, usually popular for events like weddings. Which says a lot of the area; beautiful modern woodsy atmosphere. There is also a small trail around the woods property for a morning walk or jog. No strange critters or wild vermins, nothing encountered except the very sweet and friendly dogs from the owners.
The only minor inconvenience, but to be honest is not even comparable to the great experience we had. We advice future campers to arrive during the day. Arriving at night can be a bit difficult to spot the property entrance without GPS.
Other than that, we enjoy our experience and would be our top choice to return to. Thanks Derek!

Grounds and camper were spotless, great host. I was visited by a buck and owls late at night and some hummingbirds in the morning. Easy access, good WiFi. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

Loved our glamping getaway here! Derek’s trailer was super clean, well stocked, and cozy. The location was amazing- close to beaches and breweries. The view was beautiful and we had no issues with bugs. Loved the fire pit too. Highly recommend!

The camper was super cute and very clean. It had everything we needed from the french press with coffee to the outdoor blankets. It was convenient to the highway although it was quiet and nestled back in the woods on a pretty private adorable wedding venue. You can visit the friendly goats and we even had a pup introduce itself while sitting by the cozy fire pit! Perfect little getaway and we highly recommend! Also don’t forget your shower shoes for the outdoor shower!!

Wow!
My boyfriend and I never had any experience with camping and so we concluded to do glamping. We were searching for a private place, We then found this place, a perfect campsite for a couple or solo person.
Derek will provide you with a lot what you may need. Just bring your food (not to much, about 2 days worth as the fridge is small) and some bed sheets along with anything you think you may need. Remember to text Derek if you’re not sure.
You are only 30 mins from major stores for additional food or supplies. The walkable area is very nice and great for a romantic or landscape scenery photos.
Derek has two friendly dogs and one of them or both will come up to the area fyi if your allergic to dogs.
It is a very private glamping campsite feeling type of place.
Unlike most camps, this place has very few
Mosquitoes and bugs. Fyi The dumpster is down on the steps and to your far right.
Be sure to enjoy a private outdoor shower and afterwards, to look up to see the stars at night.
All in all it was a great experience for galmpers or camping enthusiast.
We highly recommend this place for first timers of those looking for a simple camping experience!
