Mac was super welcoming and gave us great insight on the area. Shared some great conversations and enjoyed staying at the campground. We stayed off season but we had a great time using the facilities and enjoying Yosemite!

Loved the camp site and the host (Mac) was incredible and shared lots of stories, recommendations, and tips on Yosemite even gave us some tomato’s from his garden! I’d definitely would come back, the camp site has everything you need.

Mac’s cabin was a comfortable and beautiful experience. We enjoyed each moment that he came by and spoke with us. He took the time to check in on us with friendly laughter. The restrooms and showers were very conveniently located. The amenities like the microwave and heater were very handy. At the end of our trip, Mac was very friendly enough to leave us with hand picked tomatoes and a watermelon from his garden. Not to mention that I made an oversight on our trip dates and Mac was more than accommodating to push up our stay and adjust the dates. He’s very helpful and his campground is top notch across the board. Highly recommend would come again.

Tiny House Cabin 'Long Yosemite Way
We very much enjoyed our stay in the Long the Way cabin. Wifi /service was a downfall but..camping. They out a lot of effort into the little ammenities in our cabin down to bandaids and cleaning supplies and coffee and snacks and bottled water. They were accommodating when we asked for anything. Thanks!

Had a very good time and services were great and I felt very welcomed there. Clean showers and lots of space to enjoy relaxing with views of wild turkeys and deer in the mornings and evenings. Wife had one suggestions that the small step-up in the shower on floor have a marker ( maybe paint step yellow ) to prevent trip hazard. Men's side were fine...

We stayed two nights at this location. Mac and uncle John are great! bathrooms and showers are awesome and super clean. I would recommend this place 110%!!! W used our ground tent, even though we had rooftop tent. You can find new Friends in camping area! Th location is just 30 min away from West gate of NP and 1:20 min to Yosemite village with a tea;;y great scenic drive.

Camped here for two nights. About an hour away from Yosemite National Park entrance. Bathrooms are well kept and they have grills with propane that are free to use for campers. Lots of neighborhood cats around as well as deer, turkey, and birds. They also have basketball hoops and John sells wood at the check in area. Great place to camp!

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Mac, the owner of the campsite. However, there were a few concerning issues that affected our stay. The campsite was quite small, and the RV’s electricity kept shutting down due to outdated wiring. Additionally, there was evidence of old trash scattered throughout the area. While we were taking our bikes for a ride, the neighbor approached us and threatened us. He claimed that we had trespassed onto a “private road” that had no sign indicating its exclusivity. He even went as far as to say that he had guns and would beat up my husband. We were deeply shaken and apologized repeatedly, explaining that we were unaware of the campsite’s boundaries. Unfortunately, this incident occurred in front of our children, which made it even more distressing. As if that wasn’t enough, John, the manager informed us that he had received a call from the same person. When we tried to explain the situation, he simply walked away, leaving us to continue talking. This entire incident had a profoundly negative impact on our trip. It seemed that this was not an isolated incident, as we had heard that similar problems had occurred in the past, but unfortunately, no action had been taken to address them. In light of this experience, we strongly encourage Mac to take steps to rectify the situation. This includes speaking with the individual who made the threats and installing a “private road” sign to clearly indicate the boundaries of the c

The campsite was great! Clean and well equipped. We saw a few deer and turkeys. There’s a gas station with all the necessities within a 5 minutes drive. The staff were super friendly and gave us a lot of tips for our Yosemite trip.

Always a good time at Westlake campground! Second time here and the hosts are always nice. Having access to a shower is a huge plus, along with the sweet cats that come to visit you at your site haha. Plenty of fire pits and grills to use. And rainbow pool is close by as well. Thanks for having us!

I loved this campsite! It was relatively empty when we were there and the bathrooms were so clean. The water was nice and hot and there was a place behind the washroom to clean dishes. It is 35 min from park entrance and 1 hr from the valley. We loved it!

I had a great time tent camping on Mac’s land with my two daughters. He was a great host and the campsite had lots of amenities including a sink for dishwashing that made our car camping with kids experience really nice.

Campsite was spacious and had fire pit, benches, and picnic table. Good amount of shade. Parking was right next to site. We had to pay for an extra vehicle but it was only $10. Bathrooms were very nice, although only two bathrooms for all the sites made them full often. Showers were really nice too. The dish washing sink was stocked with soap and sponges. Hot water was not an issue. Dumpsters by our campsite did smell pretty bad, but that was really my only serious complaint. Camp hosts were friendly. Yosemite park entrance only 35 min away.

Highly recommend! Mac was very welcoming and he keeps a beautiful campground. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms were clean and always stocked. There are communal kitchen tools and showers were hot. In a good area too, if you want to avoid the overcrowded campgrounds at Yosemite but still what to be close enough to enjoy the park, Macs campground is the spot!

Mac was really friendly and helpful. It was our first time in Yosemite, and he told us about the park and the places to check out, and even gave us a map! The camp site had picnic tables, fire pits, good bathrooms, and a kitchen with utensils. Everything was clean and had all you need. It takes around 40 minutes to the entrance of the park.

Mac and his uncle John are very nice people who both checked in on us and gave helpful info about not only the campsite but Yosemite itself. The best part about the site has to be the hot showers and potable water refill station behind the shower building. Both came in handy after long days of hiking in Yosemite. Another favorite of mine was the wildlife from turkeys to deer and cats to dogs. They keep to themselves mainly but the grey cat is super friendly and was always there once in the morning to greet us and once at night. Lastly, we were so grateful to have a community grill at our convenience, it made the gear load a lot lighter for us. All in all, it’s a great site to stay if you need to camp outside of yosemite park or are looking for a nice getaway in the mountains P.S: Word of the wise, be sure to leave camp around 6 am if you plan on visiting Yosemite during the weekend since parking is a pain. It’s ~1 hr and 30 minutes there and back.

We absolutely loved our stay. Mac was a great host as well as John. The amenities in the tiny house were absolutely perfect and although small, comfortably fit the three of us. The campsite was fun and spacious and the kids loved playing with the campsite pets. Will definitely visit again.

Great little spot. I was created by a neighbor cat and hung out with the neighborhood dog in the evening. 35-40 mins from Yosemite gate. Host was super friendly and shared a lot of useful information. My spot was very small and tucked in the front corner. Perfect for me and my dog; was able to back my car into the site.
