Welcome to our family land! We are a low-key, rustic, proudly affordable option in Calistoga, with amazing views and open space to explore, just 10 minutes outside of the charming town of Calistoga. Our camp is open May to October, and when you book a site, you get access to the whole property so you have options of which site to set up in. Book Manzanitas but show up and like Shaded Oak better? No problem, just stay there. Decide you want one of the glamping cabins? Just pay the extra, and the door combo will be revealed. The hilltop is for day-use, showering, etc. and readily accessible for Coral Cabin guests right next door. It also shares space with our main house tenants so it is the least private, but has the best views. The family is quiet but you will hear cars come and go from the hilltop. Last, we expect all guests to leave the sites cleaned up and “better” than you found it, with the exception of Coral Cabin which has a cleaning service and $30 fee. If this sounds good, read on for some general information about the property and see Sites for information about each site option: The nature and beauty comes with your fair share of roughing it, as even the Coral Cabin is not an Air BnB since it has outdoor toilet, shower, etc. All sites have their own compost toilet and handwashing station, with flowing water at the hilltop Cafe, which has a hot shower, grill, sink, power outlets and Wi-Fi, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, and bathtubs for an extra charge. *Coral Cabin also has the largest, flattest spot for an RV, with great views and cabin access if you wanted. This cabin is our premier ‘roughing it’ experience complete with electricity, WI-FI, TV with Roku, and an AC unit. All sites: Pack your trash to deposit in the Hipcamp trash bin at the bottom of hill. Add mulch to the toilets! Wipe your surfaces. Leave it better! We are proud to be an affordable option in Calistoga and If you agree to respect the land and "leave it better," we would be happy to host you!

Married Manzanitas Camp

Tent site · Sleeps 5
Welcome to the Married Manzanitas campsite! This is a large site, with lots of space, but limited vehicle access and no RVs. The trail in is slightly challenging, and guests should expect to park on the driveway and walk a short 25-30 yards into the trail to the elevated tent-pitching area. With 4WD vehicles, drive in at your own risk being mindful of narrow passages between trees. Very cute, bare bones one-room cabin is an option - for larger groups or if you want to save the energy setting up your tent! (Dan often stays there when he visits:) It is a separate listing for $99/night for a glamping meadow cabin with full bed and comfy mattress! Combo on door revealed when you book that site (separate listing). Bring your own bedding/sleeping bags and pillows OR grab a tote of clean bedding and pillows from Hilltop Cafe for $10 one time charge - see Extras for availability.] Other campsite info: The toilet for the site is located at 'the Married Manzanitas' (2 majestic manzanita trees at elevated Tent-pitching site marked by tarp), behind the manzanita branch fence and large umbrella. ADD MULCH AFTER your #2! ** There is a 'sink' setup by trail to cabin, with water sitting in a cooler over the sink. Use only for hand and dishwashing. Site also has a small campstove and some cookware/dishware in shelves under the sink. You have your own ambient temperature shower, fed by a long hose and ambient temperature water. Turn water on/off at showerhead; may need to go to hilltop to turn on hose if using more than once. Otherwise, hilltop “cafe” with sink, hot shower and other amenities is available while you stay, just a short walk or drive up the hill. No electricity, no Wi-Fi at the site, but both available at hilltop cafe. I do have cell signal with ATT tower service. **All other Camp Guidelines are included in Rules below and in the Camp Guide Google Doc which is sent to you on booking. Shaded Oak tent and sm RV site

92%
(37)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
The Shaded Oak is a quiet, secluded campsite 20 yards off the main driveway, with amazing sunsets and a view of the Whaleback Ridge through the trees, which is the furthest edge of our 34 acre property. There is one obvious flat spot down and around the bend of the driveway in from the Shaded Oak sign. Small RVs/teadrops/ campervans can back in by driving to the hilltop and turning around to position yourself better. Campervans might also be able to pull in and back out. There are two spots for tents, near the propane fire pit and picnic table. There are trash bags in the bin, you are required to deposit your trash bag in large bin labeled “hipcampers” on departure. Otherwise be sure to leave site as you found it - leave no trace! On the same note, there may be spider webs or dust on arrival, just use the tools provided to give a quick wipe. Also encouraged to bring a table cloth of your own:) Down a short trail and behind the privacy cloth is your compost toilet - ADD MULCH TO YOUR #2! You may have to gather dried leaves and grass from your camp if there is none in the buckets. ** The handwashing/dishwashing station is by the toilet, with a stationary cooler for handwashing only (bring your own drinking water). If you need to refill this on your stay, feel free to go to the hilltop and use the hose at the center of the main house. One of our hiking trails starts just beyond the toilet area, down the ravine to the creekbed. ** Bring long pants and boots if you plan to hike our wild land - beautiful mushrooms right now for a short time, but also lots of flowers and wildlife. (Be mindful of poison oak and you can avoid it on main trail). Otherwise this is a bare bones site- however you will have hot shower, sink, stove and other amenities at the hilltop “cafe”, which campers will have exclusive private access to (only one site is rented on our property at a time). **All other info is in a Camp Guide that will be sent on booking. Send any questions to Dan via text, anytime!

Coral Cabin

91%
(17)
Cabin · Sleeps 4
Welcome! Stay in our cozy 10x10 'glamping cabin' on the hilltop with AMAZING views! The "Coral Cabin" is on the far corner of the hill, with a private entrance, personal deck, lots of light, a love seat and full-sized bed. The small, one-room-sized cabin has a portable AC unit to make the space a comfortable retreat from the heat, an electrical outlet, TV with Roku, and wifi. You can park right at the front door, and small dresser with 2 drawers if you want to unpack. *For large RVs this is also the best spot to park and enjoy the space, cabin as extra space, etc. Cabin is comfy for 2 max but there’s space for an air mattress if necessary. Also, there is space for tent/car/RV camping for 2-4 more ppl for $10 each/night; Tent also available for additional rental if you don’t have your own. Privacy: Currently, we have a family who rents the big hilltop house, on the WEST side of the hilltop. The Coral Cabin sits on the far EAST side of the hill, 30 yds from the house. There are privacy shades separating the camp from the main house and driveway, making it a designated space. The family in our main house is active, but not home much - you may just see/hear cars come and go. The cabin is insulated and sealed up, with comfortable entry space for bags, etc.- see updated pictures. That said, still considered a glamping/camping experience, with outdoor toilet 10 steps away (attached to the cabin, but around the front), and outdoor sink in the main kitchen about 25 steps away, near the shower and the kitchen supply shed. The hilltop is generally level, but the lounging area outside the kitchen is not always level and there are roots to watch out for - FYI for small kids and older adults. This is also where the tubs are, if you choose to fill them and soak for $10 extra. Sheets: There will be freshly cleaned linens on the bed when you arrive. On departure, please strip the bed and pile the sheets and pillow cases in the center of the bed. Be sure to close the door tightly on departure, and lock the combo. Security: There is a combo padlock that locks the door so you can secure your valuables when you go on adventures.
