We loved camping here! Beautiful campsite and the host Brenda is super nice and helpful. She had great recommendations of where to go. This campground is close to timber cove resort which has a nice walking path along the ocean. The campground is also short driving distance to beautiful hikes and beaches. We plan on coming back! If you have dog just be sure to give them tick medication before camping here there are a lot of ticks in the area.

We loved tent camping here. Check in was quick and easy, Brenda was very nice and knowledgeable, the site itself was incredible with great views and the overall experience was great. My dog loved the campsite and enjoyed time at the beach with some of the other dogs. Only thing to keep in mind is ticks, they’re everywhere so be alert and check yourself and your pets often.

Great Camping with Panoramic Views

One of the most incredible coastal campsites we’ve stayed at This place is something special. Our campsite sat right on the bluff with a 180+ degree panoramic view of the Pacific, and you can even see toward Fort Ross down the coastline. Falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing below the cliffs was unforgettable. We brought our 27 ft RV, and the site handled it easily (looks like rigs up to about 30 ft fit fine). Having electric and water hookups made it very comfortable, and surprisingly there is Wi-Fi, which was helpful since cell service can be spotty along the Sonoma coast. One of the highlights is the private feeling beach access just a short walk down from camp. There’s a small cove with a waterfall flowing into the ocean, and it honestly felt like we had our own little piece of coastline. Our dogs had off-leash freedom and absolutely loved exploring the beach and cliffs. Brenda, the host, is fantastic. She went out of her way to make sure everything was good for us and was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Bathrooms were clean and the coin-operated hot showers work great (bring quarters). The only thing to be aware of is that because it’s a natural coastal grass area, we did encounter a few ticks, so it’s worth checking pets and clothes after walking around the campsite or trails. Overall this felt like a hidden gem on the Sonoma Coast — incredible views, dog friendly, peaceful, and a host who genuinely cares about the place. We’d absolutely come back.

The Grassy Knoll

The views are amazing. Cliff top overlooking the water. The Grassy Knoll is very close to the road however the spot itself is the most private as it’s out of the way of the other spots in the campground aka no neighbors. Brenda is the owner and camp host. She alone is worth coming to visit Timber Cove. She very courteous, friendly and won’t hesitate to make sure your stay is enjoyable. I would definitely stay at Timber Cove again and the Grassy Knoll. For those concerned about being close to the road, I parked my car between the road and my tent and used the car as a sort of barrier. This made it feel more secure for sure. The showers had hot water and the bathrooms cleaner than most campgrounds. Flush toilets and good water pressure. Coin operated but Brenda has plenty of quarters in exchange for cash. Small market with good sandwiches, groceries, gas, and coffee just a few min drive down the road. The beach is a short walk down the hill and there other camping spots right on the beach that are an option. I certainly recommend this place. I had a poor but existing and working cell signal with AT&T/First Net for those that are wondering.

The site was awesome. The view and sound of the ocean made it a nice relaxing experience to camp. Our dog loved it too! Beaches nearby and on site. Brenda is very friendly and great communication from her. Will definitely be returning for another trip soon!

The views were incredible at campsites if you ca n go on a weekdays very quiet. The cove was very nice we were able to collect some shells. My husband said next time he will bring his fishing rod. Brenda was an excellent host very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait until our next trip.

East Beach Sea Wall

The perfect stay started with the perfect greeting from the wonderful host, Brenda. She knows how to set the tone for a proper escape into nature. We opted for the waterfall site and it exceeded all our expectations!! It provided privacy with views and access to both the ocean/beach and the waterfall. At the site you’ll find everything you will need from firewood, to showers and more! We traveled with a dog, and he had a blast! We camped where dogs can be unleashed and he sure made the most of it! There are great parks for hiking nearby, we will definitely go back to explore more of the area, but always staying at Brenda’s. We look forward to returning soon.

We LOVED this spot! It felt like our own private beach. Brenda was so nice and accommodating. The whole cove has various campsites, and while there were quite a few other people there, this spot was secluded so it felt like we were camping alone. The tide does come up pretty close at night and early morning, so you have to be comfortable living life on the edge. The rocks offer good protection, but it does get loud at night with the water hitting them. We were also fortunate to have a stream from the waterfall nearby, so we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and the stream, super peaceful. We’re so happy to have found this gem with such a great camp host. Definitely planning to visit again with friends next time.

I car camped with my dog at Timber Cove and it was one of the most beautiful, safe, and welcoming stays I have ever had. Brenda was warm and helpful with any questions I had. Others staying there were quiet & respectful. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Plan to return again and again!

I would say I had a great time on this camping spot. I was able to experience the surreal experience of camping on a cliffside overlooking the ocean on both sides. The sound of waves crashing as we fell asleep was nice. The beach access was amazing with very few visitors and plenty of opportunities to look at tide pools or doing some fishing. And depending on where you are standing, you have access to fast Wi-Fi. Our experience was improved with there not being any other campers in the other two spots as they overlap with each other. If you are considering staying here and have mobility issues, be prepared to walk down a short, steep hill to get to the site. Also, the 5 minute round trip walk to use the available bathrooms. I had some notable problems with the property. It was not well maintained, grass being overgrown with the increased risk of tick exposure. There was trash left in the fire pit. The bathrooms were not clean and did not have paper towels (both M and W) any of the three days there. The water spigot at our site was not functioning resulting in us relying on the hose by the bathroom. Overall I would come back to this camping spot under certain circumstances. At the price point, I expected more.

It is very amazing! SINCE YOU ARRIVED the host is very welcoming, love her! Clean bathrooms, potable water, Great spot for fishing, is almost a private beach, with a beautiful waterfall and lot of things to do around! We had a BLAST , my small dogs Love The beach, and it was great to catch and cook right there, comfortable and safe! Love the view ! Beautiful spot - about as close to the ocean as you can get. The weather was rather uncooperative while we were there, but the view is spectacular. Brenda was very nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back when the weather improves.
