Sundance Wilderness Ranch is an off-grid, solar powered, historic 160-acre private wilderness retreat and working family farm surrounded by nature in the remote mountains of Northern California, with private spring-fed swimming and fishing lake, ponds, creeks, springs, waterfall, and miles of private trails, woods, and meadows. Enjoy relaxing, fishing, hot spring-fed showers, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding trails, mountain biking, and hunting in the National Forest. Family-friendly and 420-friendly farm tours, sommelier tastings, and farm-to-table meals can be reserved with advanced notice depending on availability. Group facilities and retreats are also available. Our historic cabin in the woods sits along a seasonal creek and includes hot spring-fed showers, restroom and full kitchen with mini fridge and freezer, gas stove and oven, solar-powered electricity and wifi. Relax and unwind at this cozy, comfy, and quiet retreat, with plenty of privacy and trails right outside your doorstep.

Enchanting Wilderness Ranch Cabin

The location is absolutely stunning. Super remote, great views and swimming holes nearby, as well as a little general store a few miles down the mountain if you need anything. The cabin itself is well-appointed. It’s super cute and private, and has a fully functional kitchen (I was able to cook all my own meals) with gas range, oven, refrigerator, utensils, dining ware, and sink with running water. There is a surprisingly spacious en suite bathroom with an on-demand hot water shower and a composting toilet. It was really nice to not have to go outside the cabin to use the bathroom as is often the case with these little rustic cabins on Hipcamp. The bed is outrageously comfortable- I wanted to bring it home with me! Karla and Jacob are profoundly kind and accommodating hosts; they really enhanced the whole experience in general. The dogs are SO sweet and affectionate, I loved that they came and visited me at the cabin frequently.

Enchanting Wilderness Ranch Cabin

The cabin was very comfortable and and the area was beautiful and secluded. Theres a kitchen and restroom. We were greeted with hand written directions and a letter. Right next to two ponds! We got to meet dogs, cows, chickens and horses! A very wonderful experience!
