This 85 acre parcel sits just west of Nevada City, CA with the Deer Creek on our southern border and the Tribute Trail along the Newtown Canal on our northern border. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, It is a 10 minute drive to the quaint, historical gold rush town of Nevada City, and about 20-30 minutes by bicycle along the the Tribute Trail into town. Nevada City has great restaurants, bars, music and theater, as well as shopping and art galleries. Or take a walk along the trail and down to the bridge that crosses the Deer Creek to a loop trail with lovely creek views and wooded scenery, about 1.5 hours there and back to the campground. The gorgeous South Fork of the Yuba River is a 15 - 30 minute drive away, depending on which access you choose. Great hiking, biking and swimming opportunities abound in the surrounding Sierra Nevada Foothills. The Bowman Road is about 1 + hour's drive East on Hwy 20 to Lake Spaulding, the smaller Fuller and Rucker lakes and Bowman Lake, as well as the Grouse Ridge hiking area. We offer 4 tent platforms, as well as 4 RV parking sites. There are no hookups at this point, but there is a bathhouse with potable water, flush toilets and hot water shower .

Madrone is a beautiful 12' X 12' iron wood platform on a slopping, open and wooded hillside over looking the meadow and Deer Creek. Not much shade here during summer months. It is a short 2 min. walk to the bathhouse - kitchen area. General Info: No camp fires or flame of any kind are permitted; no smoking, no candles or incense, no fire. A camp stove may be used with caution for cooking. It is a short distance to the Tribute Trail along the Newtown canal for biking, walking or jogging. Nevada City is a short 10 min drive or 20 min bike away, and the scenic Yuba River is a 15 minute drive away. We are in the Gold Rush country surrounded by many historical sites of interest.

Cedar tent platform sits in dappled wood close to a young cedar grove above the Deer Creek. It is a bit more private and about 80 yards from other platforms and about 100 yards from the bathhouse. It has denser surroundings with some open views through the Ponderosa pine and oak trees into the meadow below. General description: We offer 4 tent platforms, as well as 4 RV parking sites. There are no hookups at this point, but there is a bathhouse with potable water, toilets and shower with warm water.

Ponderosa is a lovely 12'X12' iron wood platform on a semi-wooded slope with views too the meadow and Deer Creek below. It is about 30 yards to the bathhouse-kitchen area. It is partially shaded during the afternoons, with more shade in mornings and evenings. Yarrow is a smaller RV site on the flat area overlooking the wooded slope that drops to the Deer Creek and meadow below. It is adjacent to the Blue Oak RV site and is approximately 40 yards to the bathhouse-kitchen area. Two tent platforms, Cedar and Ponderosa, sit on the slope a ways below Yarrow. You know those Hipcamp listings that are as good as traditional campgrounds? Well this place is better! Well maintained, clean, sounds of frogs and creek at night, so much bird watching, and a trail in walking distance. Loved it!

We had a wonderful stay at Sierra Waters Homestead. The trail just off the property was beautiful and perfect for an afternoon walk/hike. The bathrooms and cooking area were a plus and made our camping stay more like glamping! Would definitely stay again.

Amazing and special place! I really enjoyed the site and the surrounding property was so beautiful. I was able to easily jump on the trail on my bike and loved the bathroom, shower, and cooking area. Great spot, I’ll definitely be back.

What a great way to celebrate my birthday. We took two spots - one tent and one RV and as it turned out we had the place to ourselves! Lauren and Scott both stopped by to check in and we had a wonderful time. A quick walk to town for lunch and shopping and lots of quiet time on their special land.

Private, great shower, restroom, and outdoor kitchen area. Hosts are responsive. Our two labs had the best time exploring the river, and we also had a great time on the nearby trails. Close to Nevada City, but secluded so it feels like you’re far away. Will be back!

Beautiful serene property with a short 3 mile hike into Nevada city. Scott and Loren gave excellent directions and greeted us upon arrival. We stayed after the weekend and had the place all to ourselves. This was our first time camping without hookups but their incredible bath house made it so easy. Hot showers after a day of hiking was a welcome reward. The quietude and distance from any main roads provided a perfect place to relax and reset.

Loren’s space is so special!! Meticulously maintained and some of the best facilities we’ve ever seen at a Hipcamp. The structure that has flush toilets, a HOT shower, sink, and burner for cooking was so well designed and executed we felt spoiled!! A short drive into downtown Nevada city but the property felt so removed and private. We are planning our next trip back!

We had a great stay at Sierra Waters Homestead! Thank you to Loren and Scott for making us feel welcomed to their place and for making it so nice. It's clean, the sites are well laid out amongst the trees and blends well with the surroundings. The bathrooms, shower and kitchen areas are great, hot water, and wifi - a bonus! A nice trail runs along a canal near the property and Nevada City is very close as well - a super cute town. This was a perfect camping getaway for us and the pups. Sierra Waters is now a top pick to the several unique Hipcamps we've been to far in northern California. We'll be back! Everything went well..

Our Hip Camp adventures have only gotten better after staying 4 days at Sierra Waters Homestead - the most beautiful, clean, pristine outdoors location with safe hikes my husband and 4 dogs of all ages, who thoroughly enjoyed! Scott was the best host and Loren was just the kindest! Already working to schedule our next visit and bringing friends to share this special place!

I had a peaceful starry night on Loren's land, and a good little hike in the watershed after visiting the chickens : ). The shower and cooking facilities are just right ( simple, clean and well designed). I appreciated Loren's good communication- and would recommend this sweet spot!

Loren and Scott have quite the sweet lil getaway! Just outside Nevada City (~10 min drive) and short distance to easy access points to the river (~25min) this was a perfect secluded place to set up camp for the weekend. My partner and I needed a retreat from the city, and since local camping for Yuba was out of season, but had such nice weather, we greatly enjoyed this middle ground to private & natural. Scott greeted us upon check-in, told us the digs on accommodations (very well kept!) and informed us we pretty much had the place to ourselves (truly felt like it too!). Easy drive in with a low height car and easy to find via maps and hosts instructions. Grounds were large and very spacious, so could work well for groups or couples retreat :) Highly recommend this property and host for your next trip out to Yuba!

This was one of my favorite hipcamp sites in the area. The campsite is overlooking a beautiful valley and I felt that the platform had enough distance from other sites. I was impressed with the construction and cleanliness of the bathhouse. There is also a dishwashing area and picnic tables, it had everything we needed. The path along the creek made for a lovely morning walk. Would definitely stay again!

Had a great long weekend on Loren’s land! Campsites were tidy, bathroom/shower facilities were excellent, property was easy to find and navigate, and hosts were super friendly. We saw lots of deer and enjoyed being in close proximity to the Yuba, Nevada City and Grass Valley. I’ll definitely be back!

We loved camping here for a few nights! The platform was generously sized, big enough for our large tent, two chairs, and a small table. Super quiet and peaceful, with beautiful star gazing at night. We loved that our spot was shaded since it was over 100 degrees in the afternoon during our stay and the tent didn't get too hot. I especially appreciated the flush toilets, bathroom sink, and spacious shower with changing room. Very convenient location for access into town and to the Yuba for a swim!
