Redwood River Camp

Stacy’s camp has everything a traveler could hope for. Campsites are nice, perfect size with wood chip floor. The pavilion is what sets this place apart from others. Kitchen with fridge/freezer and huge sinks, nice clean bathroom, super cool open ceiling shower room with hot water. This property is very nice. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Stacy!

We booked the Hidden Hideaway. It's not particularly hidden, but it is in more of a closed off area than the other campsites. It is largely surrounded by blackberry bushes, which made for a nice snack when we were there in early August. The outdoor kitchen was large with ample seating and a lot of sinks. Our favorite part was the outdoor shower, which had such good pressure and a huge shower head that truly enveloped you in water.

First Glass Glamping

We loved camping on Stacy's land. The outdoor kitchen and dining pavilion was first class glamping, as were the bathroom and shower room. It was in a quiet neighborhood with a quick walk to the Eel River. the drive through the redwood lined streets were amazing.

Redwood Camping Gem!

What a beautiful location within a grove of old growth redwoods and across from the river! Fantastic facilities with a shared campfire area, dining/prep area (including a fridge!) and well cared for and thoughtfully decorated bathroom and showroom. Stacy was very responsive and provided quick answers to our questions and great property access information. Apple Maps had us arriving at the backside of the property (incorrect address all together), but the well marked street signs and posted addresses we found it easy. Great stop for the two of us and our pup as we traveled through!

We loved the outdoor shower and communal kitchen situation. Everything was so clean and thoughtful. We stayed in the Stargazers spot and think we chose well—even saw a shooting star as we were drifting off to sleep!

Beware

I never found the place. I never got any instructions from the host. I asked everyone in town if they knew where it was at. Finally a young girl at the coffee shop in town found some directions on the site and a number. I called no answer. I followed the directions and ended up at a closed gate with a dog sign on it. The place looked nothing like the pictures. After two hours of driving around I left exhausted to find another place to sleep. No refund has been offered. Will never use this site again.

Stacy’s land was great. All facilities were clean and maintained. There is a few campsites, and it gets a little crowded if there’s more than one camper. There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower so if there’s multiple campers it makes it a little tough. The river access nearby is perfect! The fridge/freezer came in handy and didn’t have to lug around a huge cooler. There is a charcoal grill to use.

Place itself is great in terms of facilities, despite it lacks a microwave. We were only 2 groups staying the night we stayed there but it felt crowded. I couldn't help but wonder how it would be if all 4 sites were occupied. There's already not much room between sites. Which I guess is ok, but you don't feel much privacy or peace, however if you're looking to socialize, their communal firepit was awesome! Also, great location, nice drive into the neighborhood and definitely, clean and well kept space. Our site was undefined, no signage or indications of where to stay. Their neighbors are too close, so despite the campground has quiet hours, at night, the neighbors were partying. It's just too close to the other homes in the neighborhood. Campsite is unattended. Online directions aren't clear, but if you enter the actual home address, you will find the number, we reached out to host, and the directions were provided. It's not hard to get to the area, as it's one street that goes in/out of the neighborhood, but it'd be easier if there was a sign somewhere outside to indicate you arrive to the campsite.

Really nice little spot, beautiful trees and enclosed space for the shared area. Didn't use the kitchen, but it looked awesome. Really nice bathroom and shower were just what we needed. The river was beautiful and peaceful, just a short walk.

We were 2 people in a van and 2 people hauling a trailer and there was a ton of room to settle in and enjoy the space. Stacy’s place offers a beautiful and separate flush toilet bathroom, a really great hot shower with lots of space and a big dining patio with sinks for washing dishes. I don’t have to tell you how great it is to have access to these amenities when you’re on the road. Also it’s dark enough at night to see lots of stars!!. There is a great fire pit for all to share and incredible black berries. The other guests made blueberry jam. It’s a great stay! Thank you, Stacy!

Very private, peaceful, and safe spot! Bonus was the hot showers on site! We popped in here late one evening after spending the day in the redwoods. Highly recommend you stay here & definitely drive the Avenue of Giants on your way to/from the redwoods - soooo beautiful. Would stay here again!

I’m very disappointed to say I would not recommend. Very small space where we had multiple issues with our privacy being invaded as well as this property is in an extremely loud neighborhood making it near impossible to sleep. I paid close to $100 for a standard tent site and compared to the many other properties I’ve stayed at through Hipcamp I feel robbed.

The communal kitchen / dining space, the private bathroom & private shower area, and the fire pit / grill area are all excellent - high quality and crafted with all the right features and arrangement in mind. The hand-built stone chimney and wood-heated iron flattop grill is an outdoor cooking thrill! And so easy to use. The camp’s location is also great, with a beautiful stretch the Eel river right across the small road.

River Camping at it finest

Best spot we stayed at during our stay in Humboldt county. Great yard with everything you need for a relaxing camp atmosphere. Dogs were able to have plenty of space to sniff and chase frisbees. BBQ options were plentiful, shower was downright amazing. And the quick walk to the river was so great. Can’t wait to go back. And the host, Stacy was quick to respond to any questions. A+++

This was our first hip camping experience. Stacy was a great host and very accommodating and responsive to messaging. The site was clean and spacious with alot of amenities you don't expect at a property like this: running water, electricity, lighting, outdoor partial kitchen, bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower! It was a great experience, and will definitely Hipcamp again.!
