OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

WE HAVE THE BEST HIPCAMPERS!!!! We are so grateful to have visitors who not only care about nature, but also the animals; many who come for that reason…to support the animals at Pixie’s Place. Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible, so you feel like you're visiting friends/family. We offer a spiritual communion with animals and nature :) Shamanic Healing sessions are available to book. Please feel free to message me with questions, or requests :) I look forward to making your experience as special as you are! This listing offers: 1956 11 ft Aluminum "Rainbow" Trailer available for 2 people, with access to the Chalet toilet. Please note: she is a 63 year old trailer, so treat her gently...lol. The quaint trailer sits within a permaculture garden at the front of the property, closer to the road; however it is very private, and subdued. There is an assortment of vintage garden furniture to create a fun outdoor living space! There is a camping stove and grill available for campers to use, along with Chimineas for a fire (when Fire Bans are not in place). Plenty of wood to harvest on property. Be sure to provide your own propane (Coleman 16 oz camping canister) or purchase at our village Mercantile. Also, be sure to bring your own drinking water. (Be aware that I don't offer public use of my only shower). I limit the activity here by having only 2 listings; limited to a total of 4 total guests on the property possible between the two listings. The property is not kid friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. Also, no pets :) We are 420 and LGBT friendly :) We share our fresh eggs when available! If interested, ask me to screen the New Media/Experimental film I made which screened at London at Cinema Magic. The animals of Pixie's Place were actors in the film, along with many of the scenes filmed here. Great getaway place, everything was perfect. Wendy definitely makes this a special place. Pictures of what the place is are on point, ypu have everything you could thing off, loved the eggs, you have acess to the river super close to Sequoia if that is something you want to do. Def a place to be free and enjoy nature, would def love to come back! Wendy is such a great host.

Absolutely awesome and unique place to stay. Wendi is genuinely such a wonderful host. Her animals are all absolutely lovely to have around. Loved staying in the little vintage trailer and really enjoyed getting to sit under the stars next to a little fire every night. Her spot is right on the river and I def recommend taking a dip and laying in the hammock as the sun rises. Location is great if you are planning on going into Sequoia National Park for some adventures too!

Beautiful Place, Even Better Host

Cannot recommend this Hipcamp enough! The property is perfect for a weekend getaway, and Wendi is an incredible host and truly a gem of a human, as other reviewers have also commented. We stayed in the teepee next to the reading nook and had everything we needed: a fan, light, and outlet inside the tent; dishes and cutlery and a camping stove (though we brought our own); a cooking area, an eating area, and two pool chairs to lay out. The reading nook provided a chill space to watch a movie on our iPad at night, and a quiet place for reading and meditation during the day. Outside, the property had so much to offer: plenty of animals all with unique personalities, river access (water was flowing in late September), and serene nature all around. The grocery store is less than a 5 minute drive away. Wendi deserves her own shoutout apart from the property and sleeping/playing amenities. She is an amazing host and an absolute joy to chat with. Knowing it was my boyfriend’s birthday, she went out of her way to have a cupcake and candle prepared for us in the nook! But it didn’t stop there — she also washed our dishes for us and prepared our firewood each night. She made our trip a relaxing getaway. There’s so much I could say in this review, but I’ll leave it at that and say: you have to visit Pixie’s Place for yourself if you want to experience the magic! We came as strangers and left with a new friend, and we will be back because our experience was that unique. Love you, Wendi!

Wendy was an absolute treasure. So welcoming and so thoughtful. Provided so many little things that made us feel right at home (left salt and pepper out for us when we forgot, washed our dishes despite our insistence, provided clean towels, etc.). She goes above and beyond for her HipCampers. The Tipi was so comfortable and had a little reading nook/shed that comes along with it. Perfect for changing, hanging out, and storage. Awesome station for cooking, picnic table for eating, and lounge chairs for stargazing. The animals were so amazing too! If you're looking to have your batteries recharged in the most beautiful and welcoming environment, stay here!

Magic with Wendi
Vintage Rainbow Garden
Wendi's land is magic! My best friend and I stayed in the camper and absolutely loved it. We dipped in the river each morning and night, sat by the stars, cooked outside of the camper, and even got to chat with Wendi a bunch. She is so passionate about what she does, about the animals that she cares for and the land. This was a wonderful experience and I want to come back in the spring!

Oh Wendi! I miss you already! You are an amazing welcoming soul. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your sacred home. I felt so welcomed. I loved all the animals, the vibes, the decorations, and our talks. It was such an experience staying here and I would absolutely come back again. I miss all the cats already. I highly recommend this stay!!

My partner and I had an amazing experience staying in Wendi's land. Wendi was very kind, accommodating and eccentric. She made our experience that much better. We had a nice time meeting all the animals and using the river. It was only a 20 min drive to the entrance of Sequoia and she lives very close to Kaweah lake. I love her every part of her land was made with reusable items. If you're thinking about staying in Wendi's land I absolutely encourage you to do so. You'll have a great experience.

Pixie Hollow, perfect spot

Incredible incredible. Wendi is such a wonderful host and truly made us feel at home. This place was absolutely perfect for what my friend and I were looking for. If you want to feel like you’re a fairy in Pixie Hollow or like you’re a kid again playing in the forest, book this place. The river was perfect to swim in. We got the Tipi campsite, which unexpectedly came with its own reading nook. Two lawn chairs to stargaze at night. Got a healing from Wendi herself which was so sweet. Truly a wonderful person and wonderful spot. Come here to heal, play, disconnect, adventure. So close to the park as well.

I had such a wonderful stay at Wendy’s camp! From the moment I arrived, Wendy was incredibly welcoming and accommodating — truly one of the kindest hosts I’ve met. Her space is not only beautiful and peaceful, but also filled with charm thanks to the friendly goats, curious ducks, and sweet cats that made the experience even more magical. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and made for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. I can’t recommend this place enough and would absolutely stay again. Vintage Rainbow Garden
Pixie’s Place is a dream - just the zen getaway my husband and I were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. Wendi herself is lovely - very warm and welcoming and you can feel her love and dedication to the animals. The animals are obviously the best part. The sound of the river is so relaxing and soothing and the stars at night are spectacular. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay in this cozy camper. Wendi was so hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun. We loved meeting all the lovely creatures at the animal sanctuary and will have to come back again for some spring weather!

I honestly cannot say enough positive things about wendi and her property! Wendi is such a special and rare human being- the most welcoming, empathetic and kind person I have met in a long time. We felt so at peace here and already miss it so much. Leaving Wendi and all the characters that roam the property was like leaving a long time friend. The camper was so cozy and well taken care of and Wendi was amazing enough to set us up with the supplies for a campfire every night <3 My partner and I spent around an hour every night just looking at the stars while cuddling with Vishnu and Sunny. If you are looking through reviews and feel this property calling to you don't hesitate to book! You will not be disappointed- were planning our next trip asap

What a beautiful and magical space Wendi has created! She is truly a remarkable woman- vibrant, magnetic, and welcoming- and a great host. My partner and I had a lovely stay in the teepee, enjoying the stars. She has lots of animals, who are friendly and fun to engage with, and her land is serene and tranquil. If you’re looking for a unique and special stay in a beautiful area, then Wendi’s is the place to be! She’s an awesome, hospitable host and all the animals were such a treat. Being so close to the river was incredible and surprisingly private during our stay. Already look forward to going back!

It feels like fate brought us to this beautiful space! Wendi is an absolute dream; extremely sweet and attentive and has created a very special place. We spent hours relaxing in the river and miss lovely Krishna! It definitely is hot during the summer months but gets very comfortable at night and we didn't have any trouble sleeping. Make sure to bring pillows.

We absolutely loved staying at Wendi’s. The trailer is cosy and well equipped. Wendi made everything to make us feel at home. We also loved the experience of being surrounded by animals. We strongly recommend this hipcamp if what you are looking for is connection to nature and the environment.

We loved staying in the tent at Wendi’s! Wendi and the animals were great company, and she was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend spending some time by the river & trying out the inner tube!

Wendi has the most welcoming and beautiful soul! Despite injuring her ankle, she still made sure to walk around her property, showing us around and warmly welcoming us into her home. Her hospitality was unmatched, and her infectious energy made our stay truly special. Wendi introduced us to her lovely animals, adding a charming touch to the experience. I would go back just to hang out with her and her adorable kitties! Highly recommend this amazing host and her wonderful property.

This was such a great experience. Wendi is the kindest and most genuine soul you’ll ever meet, I know i’ve made a life long friend! She honestly made my trip to sequoia so much better, her home gave me the peace I was looking for. I also recommend her healing sessions! Definitely recommend staying if you’re looking for a place to relax after a long day of hiking :)

Wonderful experience

I loved everything about this hipcamp. We were well taken care of by Wendi, who made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was also so friendly, and I just loved talking with her. Cats everywhere, but there are also goats, chickens, bunnies, and ducks. The weather was coincidentally cold and rainy during our trip, but we still had the best time. I can’t recommend this site enough.

Wow, what an excellent spot. Originally came here because of how close it is to sequoia — 10 min from the entrance — but this Hipcamp made a big impression on me and I wish I could have stayed longer. This little camper was so charming and cozy. Slept like a baby and kept totally warm on a cold weekend. Undoubtably the highlight of this Hipcamp is the host, Wendi. She has such a great spirit and she was so open and welcoming. Fun to chat and hang out and learn about her beautiful property and share about our lives! Truly this property is curated to explore and wander to notice all these fun details and decorations. Became buddies with one of the cats too! I highly recommend this spot to anyone :)

If you’re an artist looking for sanctuary from the crazy woahs of life, booking this camper will bring you to a small oasis far away from the regular world. The river side view brought much peace to my evens after multiple days of extensive hiking of multiple local trails.

Wendi is a gracious and very welcoming host. She has such a warm and kind presence. Her property is a darling and unique haven with charming animals too! We had a great time staying in the camper and highly recommend for solo or couple travelers. It was convenient for our day adventures to Sequoia National Park and nearby nature.
