Absolutely amazing place to stay. Scott was very nice and accommodating pack light because almost everything you need is there already. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay there away from everybody and everything. It truly is a hidden gem!

We love camping near water and Murray creek is great. We lugged so much gear that we didn’t need to because their kitchen set up is solid and there’s solar lights in the barn if you need them. You’ll follow Steve, who is very kind, to the site for 10 min ish through a few creeks. He’ll show you around and be on his way. The black cat in the barn super friendly and our dog had enjoyed running around smelling new things.

Scott was an amazing host, from the first interaction, he was kind and respectful and explained everything to everyone.

Amazing spot and host! We'll definitely be back! I'd say this spot is in between glamping and camping. Running portable water, a creek, outhouses (one that actually flushed), shower, pop-up trailer and structures to sleep in and under, the list goes on. So many little spots and buildings to camp and setup at for a scenic, private camping experience.

Stayed with my wife and kids at Scott's place and had an amazing time. Scott met us at the gate and helped us drive in. Scott is extremely friendly and showed us around the property, then left us to ourselves to enjoy our time there. The place is extremely private with nobody around, it doesn't get any better than this. We had our own private creek where the kids spent a lot of time fishing for crawdads. The campsite is right on the creek, and listening to the creek while sitting around the fire was priceless. If you are looking for a private getaway in the woods, this is the place. Scott has the place setup with multiple fire pits and chopped wood, there was charcoal and propane BBQs. Also camping stoves. Two huge tables with umbrellas. Tons of blackberry bushes with blackberries that taste like candy. We couldn't have found a better place to camp. There is even a small cabin and a barn. On the day we left our car battery died, and Scott was kind enough to send his son out to help us jump our battery. Thank you guys so much! This is truly a hidden gem and we were so lucky to find this spot. Thanks again for everything Scott, appreciate you!

The homestead is a hidden gem just a few minutes from San Andreas, CA. You’ll have to go through a couple of very shallow creeks (our SUVs had no issue crossing — and Scott helped the family navigate!) and you’ll find a rustic campsite perfect for splashing in some creeks, hanging out under the shade of trees, and relaxing under the stars. We had 2 kids with us and they love playing in the creek and swimming with tiny fishes in the watering hole. The 2 dogs were also able to run around freely. The property itself had some very cool amenities like hammocks, swings, volleyball nets, basketball hoops as well as creature comforts like running water and toilets. There’s always something to do to keep the kids busy while enjoying each other’s presence. Thank you so much, Scott, for your warm reception!

Scott is a great host. Very attentive to begin with. Gives you the run down. Takes you to your site. Then leaves you alone the rest of the time unless we reached out to him. The site and homestead is beautiful. Truly out in the nature. Real and raw camping. We tent camped. It was perfect. It was 4 adults and one child. And we had so much room. And Although we didn’t need to use it, he had all the amenities like pots and pans and grills. The only thing I will say, the pans and toys and whatever is on the property are not cleaned. The whole property needs to be approached w caution as there are a lot of spiders/ scorpions/ bugs/ mosquitos in/on everything. We came across a few spiders nest. And 2 scorpions in the outhouse toilet. We were creeped out. But we also had butterflies, grasshoppers, kitties and crawdads and enjoyed alot of the critters this place has to offer!
Not sure if I saw it on other reviews but once you reach the property it’s about another 30 mins to the campsite. Which requires good tires and going thru a couple a creeks. SUV or truck/4wheel drive is best to have. A real fun drive. Thanks Scott!

My wife and I and our four dogs loved Scott’s land and all he’s created on it. We could have pitched a tent but chose to stay in the pop-up trailer right by the stream. the dogs explored the stream, the barn, and surrounding area, and they loved the swimming hole a couple minutes upstream. The set up is amazing, with running water, a propane grill, a flush toilet and even a hot water shower. The only problem we encountered was very many wasps at breakfast time; I’d advise bringing a screened tent, or eat meals around a campfire to keep them away. Scott was a great host who showed us around, explained helpful details about the solar lights and water, and gave us many options about where we could sleep. Great weekend.

Set in the heart of nature, this retreat provided the perfect setting for a long-overdue catch-up with friends. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was no ordinary getaway. The serenity of the surroundings, with the soothing sound of running water, felt like a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Our host, Scott, warmly welcomed us and patiently waited as we took a wrong turn. He guided us safely across the creek and gave us a tour of the property, which we greatly appreciated.
Despite the rainy weekend, it only added to the charm; we weren't bothered by it at all. The sound of rain with the crackling fire, created a truly magical atmosphere. Despite being in a remote location inside a barn, we felt like we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The highlight was simply being away from the distractions of everyday life – whether sharing stories by the fire, engaging in deep conversations, climbing the tree fort, or hiking through the rain-soaked landscape, everything felt magical.
As we were packing our bags, a strong urge to return soon washed over us. This place has a magical energy that deeply resonated with us, and we will definitely come back.

The mini-farms were so lush and there could be nothing better than biting into an apple by the fire late at night. Amazing to trek along with the river!

What an amazing place! Off the grid but tons of things to do and explore on the large property. Paradise for adventures kids (and dogs). Highly recommend staying at this place of Scott, who is btw a great great host!

We loved camping on Scotts homestead. It was beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Scott was so helpful throughout the whole planning and camping experience. We were traveling with 3 small children and it was easy and really fun. The creek that flows through the property is so serene and the Indian grinding rocks were incredible. There was volley ball, Cornhole, darts, swings, and gold panning gear.
The camp kitchen was fully stocked and had everything you could possibly need and more.
The rope swing in the barn was the kids favorite part. We swam in the swimming hole, crawfish nibbled gently on the kids toes in the creek, and the stars at night were spectacular.
We camped in the barn, and due to our toddlers and old dogs we weren't able to utilize the loft beds. The stairs up to the beds are very steep and small, but that didn't matter we just used a couple air mattresses that Scott kindly let us borrow and camped on the first floor.
The drive in was pretty wild you cross quite a few creek beds but Scott met us in town and led us in just fine. He showed us around and then left and we had the place to ourselves. It's a huge property and could fit large groups easily.
We would definitely go back. This place is really worth it.

Upon our arrival, my husband and I were greeted by our host, Scott. He kindly gave us a tour of the property, and highlighted all the accessible amenities/facilities. Scott was a great host; welcoming, kind, and easy-going, my husband and I felt very well taken care of during our stay.
During our stay at Murray Creek Homestead, we reposed in the quiet seclusion offered under the canopy of a large oak. The spot was situated close to a beautiful barn, picnic- table, outhouse, outdoor dining area/kitchen, and much, much more. Murray Creek Homestead
simply has too many amenities and features to list in a short review: A basketball goal, badminton set-up, lovely gardens, corn-hole boards, multiple seating areas and structures, a clean shower facility-- these are but a few.
There is something here for everyone in the family to enjoy. Murray Creek Homestead would be an excellent venue to host a family get-together. And, because this property is so gorgeous, with multiple lodging options, it could be an inspiring place for an intimate, rustic wedding. Should your aim be to take a siesta from the outside world, look no further. Murray Creek Homestead is a perfect spot to unwind, relax, recreate, and explore.

We had suuuuch a nice time at Scott's Homestead. This is a great place for kids and adults alike. There is plenty of water in the creek in early July to cool off and play. Scott was great to communicate with and we admired all the hard work and ingenuity he's put into the land. We were glad our car had some clearance under it--driving to the camp itself is a creek-crossing, dirt roading adventure, not for the low-riders! We would recommend this spot and definitely head back again.

Nice remote site. We were able to sleep in the barn and in vehicles. Nice fire pit by the creek. Solar powered lights in the barn and around camp allowed as to organize our gear. All of our group said that they would stay here again.
