Absolutely incredible experience. Such a unique and peaceful stay. It was exactly what we needed at exactly the right time. And we can't wait to go back soon! If you want to take a moment to slow down to be present, this is the place for you.

Everything was perfect, so quiet and relaxing. Great to have the little "bath house" with toilet and shower to use. Hosts were pleasant and helpful but not intrusive. My favorite part was my private yoga session with Kimberly.

What a stunning stay. I loved everything about this (especially the bed! One of the most comfortable I’ve slept in in recent memory). The views, the vibes, everything about the octagon was out of a dream.

A nice venue, but it’s a bit pricey for not having a bathroom. My friends and I had to go to the nearby market to use the toilet.

We had such a wonderful stay at The Octagon! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Simone, our gracious feline host, who gave us a charming tour of the property and made us feel right at home.
The location is absolutely perfect—peaceful, scenic, and ideal for disconnecting. The sleeping area was cozy and comfortable, and stargazing at night was a highlight—so many stars visible without the interference of city lights. It felt magical.
The kitchen and bathroom setup was super convenient and thoughtfully designed. We loved being surrounded by nature and even spotted deer and a skunk during our visit.
As a bonus, we visited the owner's restaurant, The Record, and had an amazing time. I enjoyed some delicious local wine, and my husband loved the beer selection. Add in live music, and it was the perfect way to end the evening.
All in all, it was a truly special stay. We definitely hope to return.

This is a lovely, level spot overlooking the coastal trees (but not quite the ocean). There is a large, level parking area and some wooden lounge chairs in a clearing, with a picnic bench and several tent spots. The approach is on a gravel road and then a gravel track, well-described in the listing.
The location itself is wonderfully quiet. I heardbirdsong in the fog each morning. One should be aware that there are no amenities (water/toilet etc.), and no fire pit, all of which was fine with me as a self-contained van camper. Just down the road, the center of Pt Arena is a small town with store, movie theater, etc. Visiting the coastal towns was easy from Pt. Arena.
All in all, a lovely experience that I would happily come back to!

This was our 2nd stay and there were a lot of upgrades from our 1st stay. The new bed was super comfortable and the camping stove made it even easier to cook. Loved it!

We loved how quiet and remote it felt, even though there were some houses at a distance. We saw and heard wild critters and enjoyed the beautiful views. It's easy to get to and mostly out of view of the other dwellings on the property.

We had a wonderful stay in Point Arena! Paul was an exceptional host—very communicative and responsive. The property was stunning, and the octagon itself was beautiful space, and provided a cozy retreat. It was the perfect escape from city life. A private yoga session and sound bath with Kimberly was truly a special experience. We’re so grateful for our time there and would love the chance to return. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique off-grid or glamping experience (with wifi and cell-service)!

The space was magical. I had an overwhelming sense of peace feeling the emptiness of the space and seeing the views from the gorgeous windows. I felt like the weekend in silence truly healed my soul and I recommend anyone who wants privacy and comfort to come here. There was power for my to play my music, and a heater when it got chilly. The bed was really cozy too. Paul was really accommodating and responsive. I will definitely be back. 🫂💗

Beautiful property, private and safe, so quiet and peaceful. We loved the simplicity of the Octagon and the beautiful exposed wood. We loved looking up at the stars at night through the octagonal window above the bed. Yoga in front of the West facing windows left me feeling refreshed and aligned. Our dog loved the open space and all of the windows! We ate breakfast and birdwatcher on the deck in the mornings which was so amazing! The shower was wonderful and the composting toilet was a breeze! Truly a 10/10 experience and we will be coming back!

Arrived late and left early so didn’t have a ton of time there. Spot didn’t have great flat tent options. Also no bathroom nearby? Maybe I missed the directions on that. Signs to direct you to camp were helpful. Nice views in the morning.

Quiet and secluded camping spot inside a private property. The way to the site was clearly marked. The site was pretty much surrounded by trees and it was very cozy. It was also very close to the Point Arena downtown that has a lot of cute little stores and galleries.

I loved staying at The Octagon during a moto camping trip down Highway 1. I used it as a home base from which to explore Point Arena, Gualala, and Sea Ranch. Paul was a most accommodating host providing a great list of local things to do, as well as helping getting settled in the Octagon when I couldn’t work the heater, or needed a cooler. The Octagon itself was incredibly comfortable between the bed and spacious interior. I had difficulty peeling myself away from it.

The architecture of the octagon is beyond stunning. Stayed the perfect temperature all day and night (didn’t even need the space heater they provided) and the bed was super comfortable. The kitchen/bathroom building also felt really clean and thoughtfully put together. Already planning my next stay!
