This was an amazing and private spot to enjoy views of Shasta. The mountain looked surreal and the star gazing at night was some of the best we could ask for. It is on private property but set back a good distance from the house with unobstructed views of the valley and mountain. The main gravel road was minimally traveled and also made for a great walk right from the camp site as the surrounding area is undeveloped as well. We would definitely return and recommend to others. Alex was also very responsive and gave us a heads up on some heavy winds that were expected which was a nice warning as the weather had been beautiful so the wind was unexpected.

I loved camping on Alex’s land, reserved site #1. Excellent views of Mt. Shasta and a very peaceful place to relax. Multiple Flat sites and plenty of parking. Will be coming back!

Amazing! Alex is amazing and the property is gorgeous! Yes, those flies do get gnarly with the lights at night but they are manageable if you plan accordingly. It’s a perfect spot if you’re looking for a place of solitude and great views of Mt. Shasta.

Fantastic Sunset & Mountian Views

Alex was a friendly and responsive host. His site was very spacious for our 31ft bumper pull travel trailer and truck. We just stayed 1 night so we stayed hooked on and it was level enough to work just fine.
I could not get over the views. I bet I took 200 pictures. Between the mountains on all sides, the biggest being Mt Shasta of course, the sunset and the rest of nature showcasing desert plant life, it had me in awe. We did hear some coyotes in the distance and at one point in the night a lot closer but they left us alone. We stayed inside after dark. I was hoping to see a jackrabbit but did not. Alex said they are pretty big.
It was nice that the site had a picnic table. This was a site we were able to sit outside and rest for a bit. The bugs were not bad and we had shade from the rv. It was so peaceful. We watched the full moon rise over the mountain. It is early-mid August ad it was hot during the day and cool at night.
This is a great spot to get out of the city and be inspired by nature and the changing colors of the sky. For a desert the amount of color I could see blew me away and I did not expect it. It is very private although you can see a part of the house, it is not close. The directions were very clear, no problem finding it or getting in or out.
There is a water spigot close to site #1 however we didn't need to use it. Fantastic spot and I would love to go back.

Truly one of the best views you can get of Shasta with some privacy, nearby highway and store, but you don't hear the noise it's quite, it's closer to the hosts house than expected but it still feels private and secluded no issues definitely a must stay !

Views were absolutely as depicted. Waking up to Mt. Shasta was all we thought it would be.
Mosquitos were NUTS, so come prepared for that as it can't be helped.

Alex was such a gracious and accommodating host. He has a beautiful piece of land that provides one of the most cinematic views of Mt. Shasta. We made a nice day trip to Pluto’s Cave not far from the site, as well as McCloud Middle Falls - just a short drive away. One of the many highlights was the stargazing at night, saw plenty of shooting stars. 10/10 would love to have the opportunity to stay again.

Absolutely stunning views of Mt Shasta and the gorgeous scrubland surrounding it. Was a very pretty place to stay, and I appreciated the provided picnic table at each campsite.
My only surprise with this site is that it was quite near a home (on the side opposite the Mt Shasta views) and that made me uncertain about whether I could run my generator without bothering the occupants.

Beautiful Views in a remote setting. Very simple cleared area of the property is allocated to Hipcampers with a somewhat dilapidated picnic table. You get a good feel for the openness of the Shasta area here.

Alex’s property has an amazing view of Mt. Shasta. We loved feeling like we were in the middle of no where. The sunset and star gazing were our favorite thing! We only had one short night but really enjoyed it!

Amazing campspot with full views of Mt. Shasta. Truly enjoyed the tranquility and remote site. The views of Mt. Shasta and the night's sky are unbeatable. The host is super friendly and even offers farm-fresh eggs. Highly recommend staying here. Water is available. Just be aware that there is no toilet and camp fires aren't allowed during summer months (for very good reasons).

The view of Mt. Shasta is just incredible. The picnic table is a nice touch and I was very grateful to have some trees for shade at our site. Potable water was also a big plus! It must be a special place because we saw a shooting star as we were settling down for the night.

Alex’s campsite has breathtaking views of Mount Shasta and the landscape is just in general really beautiful with a 360 view of the foothills around. Also if you like to stargaze this is a great spot. Just check the forecast before you go and prepare for the heat if going in the summer.

Dry camping overnight was a dream. I enjoyed a lovely sunset with a jaw-dropping moon rise over Mount Shasta (in July). The austere desert isolation was so lovely. I will seek out this site anytime I come through again without hesitation.

Our day ended up being one of the hottest but what do you expect in the high desert in July? It was hot, very dirty and absolutely stunning. We will definitely stay again. It was easy to find, numbered beautifully and the road coming in was easy driving. Alex was great. He greeted us then gave us privacy. Campers at the other site were a non-issue.

Alex’s property was exactly what we were looking for over the 4th of July weekend —something quiet and peaceful and away from large crowds. It’s only about 25 min to town of Mt Shasta & 30 to Castle Lake.
The views can’t be captured with photos.
Killer sunsets and sunrises and Alex was super friendly and welcoming.
New camp spot on my list.

Incredible site, vague directions
Beautiful and serene setting at the foot of Shasta. Incredible view of the night sky. Shooting stars, bats flying around. Quite a few bugs when we were there in June, but that’s camping.
Directions could be much more specific though, and additional signage could be added to help find your site, which we had a hard time finding at low light. After a long drive and while pulling a trailer, that’s pretty stressful.
