Since 1968, we’ve been reliving the romantic days of railroading at Jubilee Railroad Wilderness Lodge. Nestled in Northern California, our resort offers one of the most unique stays in the region. We’re proud to welcome dogs throughout the property. Winter offers a quieter, snow-dusted beauty—but it comes with seasonal changes: Water Off in most sites to prevent frozen pipes. Restrooms Closed when water is off. Camp Store closed; please visit the Gift Shop at the caboose area. Snow Access: During heavy snow, 4WD or chains recommended. Electricity & internet remain available. Hot Tub open (pool closed). Tent camping is closed in winter, but RV guests are welcome year-round. Dine With Us: Our Dining Car Restaurant is among the most unique eateries in Dunsmuir, CA. Built inside authentic vintage railroad cars, and fresh farm-to-table ingredients! Beds were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of space indoors. Trails and pool area were well maintained. Staff was friendly. Our caboose did have spiderwebs and dog kibble but besides that all was great.

Novelty. Fun for kids.
Caboose #16 (1 Queen, 3 Twins)
I stayed here 30 year ago. It's just the same. Great view in nature and novelty. Don't expect to cook outside in the summer though. I called ahead to see if it was OK and they said yes, then at the site they said no. Also the restaurant is closed on weird days and so are town restaurants.

A great place to stay if you like railroad cars. Very nice interiors and modern bathroom with plenty of hot water. Fast internet. We were disappointed that the highly recommended restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays the days we were there. Someone recommended Yaks on 5 restaurant for dinner and we loved it. For breakfast we ate at Penny’s in town which was very good. We would stay again next time we pass through.

Box Car #20 (1 King)
My husband and I stayed in box car 20, and it was very nice! Check in was a breeze. The view of the crags was breathtaking, worth it alone just for the view! The claw foot tub was wonderful for soaking and the chandeliers gave the room a romantic vibe. It was nice to have a small porch on the front and back to enjoy the sounds of the creek nearby. The only downside was that the dinning car was closed for renovations, along with the pool and hot tub. We will definitely be back to try the dining car and relax in the hot tub when it’s all open again.

Caboose #23 (1 Queen)
Honestly one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. The drive here is beautiful, there’s mountains surrounding the area, and the site is so fun to walk around with all the train cars. The restaurant was unfortunately under repair, but they gave me restaurant recommendations in town, which then gave me a chance to explore the quaint town a bit. Will definitely come back. Me and my dog loved staying inside our own train car.
