“The Bunky” The Bunky is an off-grid cabin located 9 miles from downtown McCloud. It is a rustic cabin situated on a 10-acre homestead. We have free-ranging chickens, sheep, Kune Kune pigs, and two livestock guardian dogs that roam freely during the day. Our livestock guardian dogs are extremely friendly but bark at night to protect the farm animals from predators. We do have black bears and coyotes in the wilderness surrounding our homestead. We cannot allow pets, as we need to ensure the safety of our animals. We are located in a secluded rural neighborhood that is 2 miles down a dirt road off Highway 89. If you are looking for a secluded, peaceful homestead experience and are comfortable in the wilderness, this is the perfect place for you. We are only 2–3 miles away from McCloud Falls, which offers beautiful hiking trails. Our property is completely off-grid, so the cabin is solar powered. There is a wood burner for heat, and the water for showering is rainwater collected in a 2,000-gallon water tank. The water is treated with a reverse osmosis system. We supply well water for drinking in a 5-gallon water dispenser. We have a instant water heater so hot water is available for showers and cleaning dishes The cabin has an attached bathroom with a flushing toilet, sink, and shower. We do not allow baths due to water conservation and a small septic system—showers only. Access to the bathroom is a short walk around the side of the cabin. Towels and wash cloths are provided We have a 2-burner cooktop for cooking and an under-counter refrigerator for keeping your food fresh and cold. There is running water available for washing dishes. Undercounter fridge for keeping food and drinks cool. Completely off grid. Solar power and backup generator. Rainwater collected for showering. We provide a 5 gallon water dispenser for drinking water. Do not drink the tap water. Only for showering and cleaning dishes

What a special place. Jessica was so great at communicating and the place couldn’t have been more perfect. It was thoughtfully put together and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Awesome cabin, great stay!

With kids

My 10-year-old daughter and I stayed at Jessica’s cabin for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a really neat space. So clean, comfortable, and unique. Lots of attention to detail in the space, and they even gave us a tour of the farm and let us meet the many animals. They had games there and a bunch of DVD’s in case we wanted those, but we didn’t have time. The kitchen was well-appointed and the bathroom was easy. We’d definitely stay there again for an off-the-grid, relaxing, unplugging stay.

Absolutely amazing

Utterly blown away by this cabin, the proper and the hosts. Including all the farm animals and pups. I loved my stay. The cabin was cozy and had all I needed to cook and rest. I loved the dvds they included and next time will bring my own. Limited service and no WiFi so I could connect. Mount Shasta is just behind the trees and you can feel the energy from it. You are minutes from mccloud falls and going in the morning meant I had the entire area to myself. The farm fresh eggs I got from the hosts were some of the best I’ve had! I just can’t say enough good things. I will be returning every chance I get.

Here’s a natural and polished version: I loved this cabin! There are so many stylish details that make it unique and comfortable. Jessi and Dave were incredibly welcoming. They gave our son a tour of the farm and even shared some of their fresh, farm-raised eggs with us. Definitely worth a visit! Or, if you’re writing a review: We loved this cabin!
