Heidi Goldnugget is a 1972 cabin that has been empty for 20 years. They spent over a year bringing the space back to life. The deck had holes and falling apart, animals and the forest had made Heidi's Goldnugget their home.Heidi's Goldnugget is a renovated 1972 cabin retreat, tucked in the valleys of the historic mining town of Dutch Flat. Go back in time with the distant sound of the railroad while submerging yourself in nature and tranquility. The cabin interior is furnished with vintage items from Budapest and handmade recycled furniture. Wake up in the loft to views of trees and sounds of the forest. Unwind with a book on a hammock, throw some BBQ on the grill, star-gaze or cozy up in front of the 1899 restored woodstove. The studio cabin is 320 sq ft sits on a dead end street where you get to experience living in the woods with seclusion. The small kitchen has all the cooking utensils, an induction cooktop, toaster oven, hot water maker and french press. The living room has a built in sofa to hang out on and gaze out into nature. If you are into films, we have a collection of our favourite movies and a Mac screen to watch it on and board games to keep you off your mobile devices. The loft is small and cozy with windows looking out at trees. We also have a dining table to eat your meals on or use as a work table. The outdoor seating space is special place to at wake up or watch the sunset in the evenings. We have cedar chairs around a outdoor pit (Only when fires are allowed), an iron table with two chairs to sit at and a hammock to lounge on. This cabin is a perfect retreat for guests who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and to recharge without having to venture out too far. The outdoor seating space is special place to at wake up or watch the sunset in the evenings. We have cedar chairs around an outdoor pit for cold winter evenings (Only when fires are allowed), a propane BBQ for grilling, an iron table with two chairs to have meals and a hammock for lounging around. Heidi's Goldnugget is a perfect retreat for guests who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and recharge without having to venture out too far. You will find unique trails, old mines, rivers and lakes close by. Dutch flat town is a fun place to explore from the historic Dutch Flat Hotel to the old cemetery. There is also a public pool in town under the pines for local residents to soak in. (Guests have access). Rivers such as North American River can be accessed via Mineral Bar in Colfax, South Yuba River by Rainbow Lodge in Soda Springs, Emerald Pools and Lake Spaulding. TRASH SERVICE: The remote location makes trash inaccessible so you will have to pack your trash in and out. We provide bags for you. PETS: We are pet friendly for one well behaved dog with prior approval before your reservation. We ask that the dog not be left alone in the home for an extended period of time, kept off the furniture and beds, and that you bring your own dog bedding, and pick up after them outside. NOTE: Well behaved dogs are welcome with a $45 extra cleaning fee. BEAR VISITORS: There are bears in the area. To avoid break-ins please do not leave any food outside, store foods inside and trash in the metal bin in the small shed. CLEANING FEE: The cleaning fee covers normal turnover cleaning (e.g. bedding and laundry turn over, surfaces, floors, snow removal, etc.). Additional cleaning fees may be incurred for excessive mess (e.g. excessive dishes, pet hair on the furniture/beds, etc) WINTER SNOW SEASON: During the winter, we may experience snow and 4 wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Shoveling service is not provided mid-stay, however we do provide shovels if necessary. Our neighbor ploughs road to keep it accessible during heavy snowfall. If heavy snowfall happens during your stay and additional shoveling help is necessary, please give us a call and we may be able to arrange some assistance for an extra fee. We are not responsible for weather changes / delays leading up to and during your reservation. In the event of a storm, our cancellation policy stands.

The coziest Gold Rush stay!

This spot was perfect for our midweek remote work getaway! The wifi was fast enough for Zoom video calls with no problems, and we used the cabin's iMac to watch a DVD from Su's collection. We played board games, loved having the French press coffeemaker, and used the stove and dishes to make our own meals. Everything was super clean, the bathroom was surprisingly big, and the loft space was delightful with comfy bedding (sleeping bags are also provided if you want to skip the loft). Bonus: We were so glad it was pet-friendly and brought our blue heeler. 🐶 All of the charming design details were a highlight, as was the restored wood stove (with plenty of firewood provided, for both the indoor stove and the outdoor fire pit). With the stove, the cabin was plenty warm for a winter stay (although we left just a couple hours before the first snow). All of the restoration work is super impressive. The fencing around most of the cabin gives plenty of privacy. We'll be back!

Great little getaway

Lovely little spot! Very well curated while still paying homage to the original cabin. Our 3.5-year-old loved the loft, swinging in the hammock, and coloring at the table. We'll be back!

Secluded cabin

Su’s property was amazing. Tucked away and pretty secluded. The decor was fantastic and very vintage. The vibe was so cozy and the loft bed made it feel like we were staying in a tree house. We picked a pretty hot weekend to get away so the cabin was hot to sleep in but Su provided fans so that was helpful! The backyard was amazing to relax in. The only thing I would say is that the bed situation is pretty tight and wouldn’t be good for really tall people. Overall, We loved our stay and will be back again!

A great escape from the city

Heidis Goldnugget was such a nice and ideal stay away from city. It’s a really cozy cabin with some modern amenities. Su was very helpful and a great host. Bonus: The vintage speakers were a really nice touch which you can connect via Bluetooth.

We enjoyed being able to go hiking in the nearby area, and check out some of the shops in Nevada City, and then retreat back to the quiet of the Gold Nugget. The cabin is well stocked, the surroundings are quiet and relaxing, and our dog loved being able to hang with us on the front porch. Highly recommend a stay at Su's cabin, we'll definitely be back.
