To make sure our place is the perfect fit for you, please take a moment to read both the general property description and the specific listing of the campsite or accommodation you’re booking. We want you to have a great stay and avoid any surprises! Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals. We welcome all ❤️🌈 We highly recommend not bringing any animals, including service animals. We have two livestock guardian dogs that free roam the property and they are not friendly with other animals. IMPORTANT!!! Update jun19th: This year, water levels are lower than usual due to limited rainfall. As a result, swimming at the swimming hole will be closed starting in early July. We recommend planning accordingly and checking back here for updates as the season progresses. Thank you for your understanding!

Swimming Hole Campsite Our tent-only campsite is tucked away in a magical spot right next to our natural swimming hole. 🌿💦 Perfect for two people who want to disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature. 🚶‍♀️ Access This site is walk-in only — cars cannot reach the campsite. Guests must park in the gated parking area (next to the bathrooms) and walk about 3–4 minutes along a dirt path to reach the site. Because of this, rooftop tents or car camping are not possible here. We always recommend arriving before dusk so you have enough daylight to set up comfortably. 🏕️ The Campsite • Flat area for your tent (best for up to 2 people). • Nestled right by the creek. • Peaceful and private, but close to nature. 💦 Swimming Hole • Shared with other guests (open from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM). • Seasonal: usually swimmable until the first week of July (varies by year). 🔥 Important Notes • During fire season, no fires or smoking are allowed anywhere on the property. • Please plan to carry all of your gear from the parking area to your site (a backpack or wagon can be helpful). ✨ This spot is truly special for those looking to slow down, disconnect, and immerse themselves in nature.

Maple is our largest enclosed campsite, ideal for groups of friends or families who want to camp together. 🌞 It’s mostly sunny, spacious, and can host up to 20 people — perfect for multiple tents or larger gatherings. 🚗 Access & Vehicles • This is the only campsite on the property where cars can reach the site directly. • Tent camping and car camping are welcome. • Up to 6 cars are allowed. We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Heart Valley Ranch and camped at the Willow Campground — what a magical experience! We brought our kids along, and they had an unforgettable time exploring everything the ranch has to offer. There’s no shortage of fun activities, and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights for the kids (and us!) was getting to feed the llamas and goats — such a sweet and memorable experience. Our host even gave us a personal tour of the ranch, and they were genuinely a joy to talk to. You can tell they truly love sharing their beautiful space with guests. We visited in the summer, so be prepared — it does get hot during the day. But the warm weather was well worth it, especially when the sun went down. The night sky was absolutely stunning — perfect for stargazing right from our campsite. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Heart Valley Ranch is a gem, and we’d happily stay here again!

July 2027: We initially reserved the "Pear Tree" site but changed to the "Willow" site... and this was an EXCELLENT decision. Willow has more square footage and full-to-partial shade most of the day until about 3pm and is mostly level all-around. Pear Tree is right across from Willow, is smaller, and after some initial morning shade, Pear Tree site receives full sun the rest of the day. (So season matters, I'm sure. Being July, we are SO glad we switched to Willow.) Two of Three mornings we awoke the the sight and gentle sound of livestock grazing nearby. Our hosts were absolutely fantastic. Responsive online before and durning our stay (via wifi near the house)... plus would stop to chat when they saw us around on the grounds. We got a tour of the goats and chickens, met the guardian dogs, and more. Lots of Summer Fun activities to do nearby, including Yosemite NP, Horseshoe Bend Recreation Area, and Rainbow Pool Day Use Area all just a short drive away.

Handcrafted Kazakh Yurt
(2/5 stars) We were excited to try this unique yurt experience but unfortunately had to cut our stay short due to cleanliness issues. While the host was communicative and responsive, the accommodation didn’t meet basic sanitation standards we expected. **Issues encountered:** - Animal waste directly outside the main entrance - Hair found throughout the interior suggesting inadequate cleaning between guests - Overall cleanliness around sleeping and food prep areas was concerning **Positives:** - Host was responsive to communication - Unique accommodation concept - Truly in the wild and close to the nature, they even have a compost toilet and no shower. Unfortunately, these conditions weren’t suitable for our family, especially with young children, and we had to find alternative accommodations. This resulted in additional costs and travel disruption. I hope the host addresses these maintenance and cleaning concerns for future guests, as the concept has potential with proper upkeep.

I somewhat enjoyed tent camping on the ranch over the weekend. It’s a large property, yet the campsites are pretty close together. The willow spot is close to the parking and bathrooms, very spacious and shady. It even has a little table and chairs! It seemed perfect until we dealt with a really bad wasp problem, which made relaxing outside out tent and eating almost impossible. The swimming hole isn’t for swimming, the water is gross, but it’s still a chill spot. Walking on the property was very nice and the animals were so fun to be around. It’s located about an hour away from Yosemite.

Quiet, out of the way, close to all the places you'll want to see. Didn't get to spend enough time there to take advantage of all the fun thing to do. Great facilities, highly recommended.

The site was beautiful but the three minute walk up and downhill to get there wasnt worth it for us. Would maybe suggest picking the willow site and walking down to the swimming hole to swim.

We drove our camper van in to the Maple camp site. Our friends stayed in the Yurt. Very cool and unique camping experience. We loved this camp site!! We walked with the goats and dogs, very friendly. The waterhole was lovely and warm. The bathroom was a short walk from both sites. We got some of the fresh eggs too. We would definitely stay here again! The hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Absolutely loved our weekend at Heart Valley Ranch. The fresh eggs were excellent definitely add them if you like eggs :) the property was so beautiful and private. We loved waking up to moos lol. would recommend 100%

We can't wait to come back to the yurt! Julie and her family were excellent hosts and there was plenty for us to do! The yurt was very large, plenty of room for 4 of us and had lots of extra touches that made it awesome. The perimeter had several solar lights as well as the interior. The site had a large picnic table and the inside of the yurt was amazing. They even took the center top off so we could see the stars. There was plenty to do around the property; from the swimming hole, toad hunting at night, hikes while seeing goats, cows, llamas and chickens, and a small play area for the kids. We loved Heart Valley Ranch!

Beautiful piece of land with a refreshing swimming hole and river nearby! We went for 1 night and loved it some much we came back the next week for 4 days. We tent camped at the Willow site with 3 kids in April, there was plenty of shade which would really be appreciated in summer. It's a short walk to the compostable toilet and swimming hole. They've installed some solar lamps which help illuminate the toilet and campsite nicely to locate them at night. There is also an authentic Kazakhstan Yurt you stay at. Lots of great animals roaming the land (llamas, goats, cows and chickens) You can buy treats to feed the llamas. The hosts were amazing! Everyone had a great time!

Absolutely amazing land. Julie is the nicest woman on the planet. The views are beautiful, no disturbances and the bathroom was nice. Felt cozy and the animals were so cute. 10/10 would definitely recommend and stay here again.

This was our first time camping at heart valley ranch and we definitely recommend it! If your looking for a quiet peaceful place this is definitely the place our kids loved the animals they where super friendly the only downfall was the swimming hole was dry but they did mention that due to no flowing water overall it was a great experience!

We stayed with our 3 kids in our campervan at the ranch. We had a huge space in the middle of nature, surrounded only by cows, goats and lamas. The landlord showed the kids around, explained them everything, let them feed the animals and try the fresh fruits from the garden. We enjoyed it a lot! Only drawback was that the water hole did not have sufficient water due to the drought.

Love love loved it. Very magical. The pool was beautiful for a morning dip. The pool campsite was a little walk in. Just make sure you don’t forget anything in the car or you will have to walk back up the hill ! Totally worth it

I loved staying at Julie property! It was BEAUTIFUL and her sweet dog made me feel so at ease. We loved waking up to the llamas and cows. Walking down to the swimming hole was a dream, truly a special place. There was even a breath taking teeny waterfall :) We will definitely be back for another visit to walk the trail and visit Yosemite again 😍 Thanks, Julie! You rule!!

Beautiful and quiet spot on the way to Yosemite. Friendly hosts. The llamas came by to in the morning to say hello. Fun to walk to the swimming hole and by the goats after dinner.

Beautiful farm ! Lots of animals on property to see and starry nights to enjoy. Swimming hole was really pretty and host could not be more generous and accommodating. Highly recommend if staying in the area for Yosemite.

This place was amazing. It is rustic for camping, but the property is awesome. Lots of space, beautiful oak trees, and the swimming hole is awesome. The animals on the farm are fun to see and the goats bleating is so funny. Julie is so accommodating, welcoming, and a great host. The property is tucked away and private, and such a nice getaway. Stay here and you won’t be disappointed! And the get fresh eggs 😁

Julie‘s land is absolutely beautiful. There are a lot of friendly animals and a georgeous and calm landscape. The communication with Julie was super nice, easy and fast. When you stay you need to go for a hike on the Old Barn Trail and you need to check out the swimming hole - it‘s amazing! A perfect place to escape the noisy world. We would love to come back!
